So..these were implemented ages and ages ago. They were mentioned once and then never again. I've forgotten what they're for. So...what're they for? xD Nothing?

You get a Sacred Key every year on your Gaianniversary. They're used for Alchemy back wing quests.
Cookies were for Spring Cleaning a few years back. Users would create threads with site suggestions in a special forum, and people would vote on them with Cookies if they liked the idea, similar to how the <3 and </3 buttons work on threads today. At the moment, Cookies hold no purpose.
