⊀ Location: in line, slightly further back from the fray⊁
⊀ Company: the other children⊁
⊀ OOC: Hi! Sorry if this is crap, haven't done this in a while...⊁

While standing in the early morning North Carolina mist, a sudden eruption of inaudible yelling and sharp, quick movements caught the young woman's eye. She stood on her tip-toes, struggling to peer over the shoulder of the boy in front of her, before she was snapped at by a patrolling guard to get back in line. It was too dark to see anything clearly anyway. Ari hung her head, attempting to blend in with the mournful masses around her. She didn't understand why everyone seemed so reluctant to be here. Sure, they were leaving their families and friends, but they were chosen to serve their country! Didn't they realize that they were a part of something grand and noble?

Her eyes flickered back to the present as she was ordered to move forward. Complying, she inhaled, breathing in the scent of rain as it coated her lungs. Ari absently tugged at the piece of tech around her neck. She willingly agreed to be part of this program, and put up no hesitation whatsoever, but she still didn't understand why the handcuffs and collars were necessary. Protocol, she was told. They just don't want to take any chances... There was another push forward, and shape of the building began to come into view. Ari shivered, partly because of the rain, but mostly from the nerves. Her stomach began to twist and her pulse sped up.It's just like camp. It'll be fun! Dad wouldn't send you to a place where they would hurt you. And you're doing this for the greater good. Everything is going to be ok...

"Do you understand your task, number 24601?" The red head was faced by a female who was her senior by at least a decade. She had a clipboard in hand, but stood with a posture that commanded respect. Her eyes glinted as if she had seen the devil and won. Aleida nodded mutely, her face vacant of any emotion, simply a slate that betrayed absolutely nothing. "Remember that you are not to stick out, blend yourself in with the others. Become their 'hero' if you must, to earn their respect and trust," the woman reminded her before she was due to leave Russia and be set up on the bus to Rosemary's retention center. Aleida had in-tell that her sister was working there, running the facility, though Aleida had been a toddler when she had last seen her sister. However, Aleida knew of all of her sister's tours and the awards she had won in war. But Aleida knew nothing of how this woman worked and if she was like the 12 year old she recalled all those years ago before she had been taken to Russia for training.

The woman left the room and then a door, opposite of the one she exited from, opened. Light filtered in, brightening the dimness of what appeared like an interrogation room. Aleida stood and went out the door and into an airfield, where a private jet would take her to America to a point where she would be 'captured'. The journey took several hours, but not in poor standards. She had anything she could have asked for, but instead of taking to these amenities, she stared solemnly out the window, the gears of her mind churning as she contemplated what kind of character she was to portray. The drop point was in California, where she was clapped with one of the necklaces that would track her and negate her powers. Only, this one did not. It was engineered to appear just like all of the others, but was a complete dud. It did nothing to mask her ability to read minds and move objects, simply by willing it.

However, to any who did not know, they would have also assumed that she was now as normal as could be with the brace around her neck. She was then taken to the bus of the retention center, where she lounged in the back. No one noticed her, no tracker beepers going off when they skipped over her. She willed them away, that there was nothing of importance. Simply because they were buffoons and had not seen the male they had also left there on the bus while the others departed. She could hear many minds at once, in the beginning she thought it would drive her mad. But her years of training had allowed her not to crack. It took time, but she eventually learned how to turn their voices down, though she never could turn them completely off. There was always muttering within her head of the people within a decent proximity of her. And the crimson haired male on the bus with her had dark, swirling intentions that kept her there. A part of her was wary, but from what she could sense, she was able to pick an alter-ego for.

She heard his words and sat up from where she had been slumping in the seat, itching at her collar as if it had been bothering her. "And they're America's best?" she scoffed, making her Russian accent more noticeable. She could fake any accent, but Russian came much more naturally as she grew up there. "They're probably guarding all the others now, I would think that if I had to choose a time to slip out unnoticed, it would be now.... But perhaps these collars should be the first thing we take care of," she said, itching at it again.

She reached out mentally, taking note of anyone who was around with a weapon. She would be able to avoid them, but also pull them in. She could make it appear as if they apprehension was by chance, simply by putting the idea in a guard's head, who could sound the alarm. No one other than she would know. It was why her powers were so prized, she could be the perfect double agent, always making certain her charges were contained while they believed she was trying as hard they them to escape. She would take beatings for them and bleed just the same, but it was all apart of her job as well as the acting part.

"You're not going to take another nap are you?" she challenged as she strode forward with an air of confidence, shoulders back and head up, nose turned as if she knew what she were doing. It was that of a headstrong and arrogant misfit that she would play. A messiah who would attempt anything to free them, but in the end would always be apprehended.

Alexandra Tepes Bluesummers

Alex walked into the labs and looked around before she took a seat, she knew they would be expecting her to show up after her isolation to go over her observations and give her a physical before she returned to duty. She slipped her ear piece into her ear and began humming softly as she waited ease dropping on the rest of the security in case they needed muscle but most of the time the Mercenary was only there if things got really bad or a subject got too violent.

Oh come on this is boring, We have energy to burn. Alex clenched her jaw slightly as she closed her eyes sighing softly knowing of one voice was already back then the other one was not far behind. Come on you know you are stronger then damn near every one here and it isn't like they can kill us. "Yup this is gonna be a long day." She muttered faintly to her self as she slumped in the chair and put a cigarette to her lips to be lit once she was done in the labs.

                                            Kpck!

                                            Kpck!

Experience had taught him to avoid making contact with their eyes. They were almost always staring back in one way or another, piercing, begging, pleading, glaring daggers, making it harder for one to go about doing their job from a safe emotion distance. The acting physician had his jaw clenched shut behind the mask and only looked up as far as he needed to, usually about shoulder height, in the same general place in which customary injections would've been likely to take place, even though in this case anywhere would've done.

The Intern tossed the auto injector back in to its case, his eyes were kept focused staring down and blankly forwards. The children's voices however were another thing he had to deal with too. Although this, whatever it was that they'd said to try and dissuade him continuing, was numbed and tuned out again thanks to experience. He knew better than to let effect him, and the man took it strides, letting out a sigh when finally his charges slipped into sleep. He still had a case of butterflies amassing his stomach a lot of the times. Although there were plenty of factors that would've caused this for him. Tay did have a heightened sense of personal mortality after all. Immoral shame could've felt just like living in a high potential disaster zone for all he knew. There wasn't a need to differentiate it.

In the usual fashion that a Doctor would, he had slipped out of his gloves by habitually inverting them and took his mask clear from his face, around his ears and all. "We'll be putting them in procedure rooms three and four." he explained. "T-the lab team and I can take over from there."

                                            + + + + + + + + + +

Sedating them was already what he'd considered to be the kinder thing to do. That, and it certainly made prepping the kids was much less of hassle. So far, no one gotten a black eye or a broken nose... at least on his team, that he knew of.

There were four people currently in the perfectly square room including himself and the unconscious white haired girl. The other fifty percent was composed of nurses, the assistants to the assistants, when they needed assistance.

Two guards were stationed just outside the each and every door down this stretch of hallway, in case another kind of assistance was needed.

Everyone in the room was dressed as if a major operation was about to take place, except for the girl who was thoroughly strapped down to what looked like the worlds most diabolical dentist chair. They kept her in the clothes that she had arrived in, seeing as how it was an unimportant matter. Other than that, by looks of things anyone who happened in them probably would not have guessed that it was going be a surprisingly minor procedure. The test on the other hand might not be as inconsequential.

Tay reviewed the additional notes that he had added to the clip board. Much of the experiment was about sitting back and observing the results. He gazed over to look at the motionless girl who had been restrained, and hooked up to several monitoring devices. He had positioned a the surgical light to shine into her still facial features. He was able to take some sense of solace from this quiet calm state. Then he looked at the monitors and tried to discern if there were any signs of change in her condition. Nope, she was still out cold for the time being. The overseer of the operation closed his eyes, wondering if he had in fact maybe given her too high of a dosage before.

He flicked his pen against the edge of his clipboard appearing to be a impatient now that he felt a somewhat reassured by the uneventful lull.

A knock came from the other side of their door. They hadn't gotten underway with anything yet so the door was swiftly seen to. It was another person in lab coat that stood on the other side, notably one that Jackovits actually had seniority over.

"Really?" his said trying not to let the strain in his voice show after newer assistant had spoken discreetly with him. "Really?" he reiterated, this time the added stress was deliberate.

"Of course, I'll see to it." he had conceded, although not without sounding really encumbered.

"Watch her stats closely, make sure we have a good benchmark for her vitals, and do the same with Patient B. I'll be back shortly." Issued Tay as began to take himself out of the telling standard issue surgical dress wear. The girl hadn't woken up yet and the boy was in another room. Nimble fingers motioned to sling his gloves into the trash bin stretched-rubber-band style, and missed. He walked hastily out of the room, making sure the door was closed behind him, nodded to either guards and let the other white coat lead him, hoping that he could make this quick.

"Sorry about the wait." said Tay upon entering a very different room in the laboratory complex. He tugged at the lapel of his freshly re-donned lab coat, adjusting how the dress shirt he wore underneath had bunched up predictably in places. In this new area sat a dark haired lady, another one that Tay Lo was unlikely to want to mess with. He was however, like how he assumed most of scientific community would be, interested in finding more about her adaptive powers. It was a good chance to hear from her first hand, probably about some the physical and mental complications that her ability had given her, and possibly maybe more than that.

"Doctor Zimani is... away at the moment." tending to a patients broken nose with a deviated septum and suspected fractures along the zygomaticomaxillary complex... "So I'll be taking your assessment."

The substitute gestured to his ID card which indicated his name. "Tay Lo Jackovits. We've met before." he said irregardless, glossing the over point they would've normally shook hands.

A paper bag was placed on the table then by his own hand, definitely making an effort to expedite things along. "If you found the prescription is still potent enough, Ms. Bluessummers, then what we've prepared for you here should be sufficient for the next couple of days." and if drug weren't working as well they should he'd write up a new set of prescriptions that his superiors would have to review before giving it the go ahead.

"Your new prescription will be brought to your dorm before the end of the day, if that isn't the case." The formal practice was long and tedious and not to mention very repetitive indeed.

                                            far from sober
Sorry I just kinda left her in operating room there. But he shall be back~

Ari wrestled with her cuffs, trying to find a comfortable way to rest her arms. The cold, dry air of the building stung her throat and froze to her place, only to have to readjust again in her wet clothes. Her teeth chattered as she peeked at the faces behind her. A sea of eyes simply stared forward, containing everything ranging from exhaustion and anger to flat out fear. Am I missing something?Ari clenched her jaw and continued on in the procession. It was the government's job to take care of its people; surely this couldn't be what she had been promised a month ago.

After what seemed like hours, Ari was finally instructed to enter what appeared to be an examination room. She took a breath and entered. Um... Good.. Morning?" The blonde questioned as she followed in the direction the guard was pointing. "I'm Araceli Maddox, uh, daughter of... Private Maddox and, um... She fidgeted with the metal on her wrists, trying to remember what title her father went by. "Agent...Maddox?" Her voice rose a half-step with every semi-question she squeaked out, not sure if the information was relevant or not. Well, better too much than too little. "I was told I needed to see Arden Frier for a physical," Ari folded her hands politely with a sweet smile, as she approached the standing, green-haired man.

                                            Dan Alexander Pierce

Dan pushed himself up just a bit and opened his chocolate brown eyes to take a better look on the other person who obviously was forgot up with him. She doesn't seemed like one of the government agent, but she doesn't seemed on the kid side either. Her accent seemed too forced, but eh... he liked to play and obviously she did it too.
"You think so?" He asked her while he kept studying the girl and her reactions better. He could fell her blood inside her veins and her heart pumping. His powers might have been delimited, and nor just faked with that idiot dog collar to fool others, but they couldn't push his senses fully away. Somehow that became one with his being. He could feel a slight anxiety inside her, and even if she seemed fake, it could've been explained that feeling with the situation in which they were.

"Well, if you think so, you may go first!" He said calmly and laid his head back closing his eyes. They had to wait for things to calm down. He doesn't had telepathic abilities but he was a good strategist. "If we try to escape now, we have about 60% chance to be caught. If we stay and wait our chance is still 30% they will find us..." He said not finishing his phrase. There were still 10% about what she had to ask him, since he usually said out loud what he thought, not caring with others reactions. (So you don't had to have abilities to read in his head.

Suddenly an inexplicable dust of blood dragged the redhead attention. He sniffed deeply in the air. It wasn't from anywhere near, but the subtil smell found him, slowly escaping from the building and lingering everywhere in the yard. Dan sat up and with closed eyes took a deep breathe inside. "Blood..." He then whispered. He highly doubted he felt this from any of the kids or the soldiers, but he could say for sure, only if he would go to investigate more precisely.
It doesn't seemed to worth the whole s**t that much to be caught. Even so he had chance for that, but he still saw some opportunity to escape if they stood there and waited to clear the air around them.

Alexandra looked up at him before handing over the tape recorder. "My observations while I was in isolation." She calmly rose to her foot and grabbed the meds. "The Anti-psychotics have begun to lose effectiveness already but I also am starting to think the voices are not as bad as they could be." At least we keep you company while you are in isolation. She closed her eyes for a moment before she rolled her shoulders reopening her eyes with a faint sigh. "Well most of them at least, Now are we going to get this physical out of the way so I can get back to work?" She crossed her arms over her chest with a bored look on her face. They stuck you with the whelp again? bummer. She slowly rose her eye brow trying not to agree with the more violent of the voices in her head. You're the reason she needs the medication you know. With a practiced emotionless face Alexandra mentally cussed, it wasn't the heightened aggression the more violent of the voices could induce that pissed her off most it was when they argued that she became the most irritable but the poor boy didn't deserve to get ripped in half because she was annoyed but the mental image still caused the left corner of her mouth to raise slightly before she shook her head. "Well?" She tapped her foot slightly as she waited, she hated physicals they had to use larger needles due her tougher then normal skin and there where a few scares when they couldn't find her heart beat though those all made her laugh thinking back to them.

Hm, well, at least that's handy. Tay thought, looking over the recording device. He'd have to pass this along of course, and he was aware that it might be more befitting in the hands in an psychoanalyst. That's probably where it was bound to end up anyways. At least here it may save him time with some of the evaluation.

What she had said about the anti-psychotics was only maybe slightly worrying, seeing as he was int he same room with the woman. He managed to purse his lips into a slight smile and nodded seemingly understandingly in same the way that his peers often did to mask their real responses towards a patient, to let their more nagging internal monologues to pass before allowing themselves open their mouths and have something deft and devoid of contradiction come out of it.

                                            But nothing had.

A physical? Was that what this was for? Great. He hadn't been prepared for this. Any time he might've saved seemed to have gone right out window. Although, what really peeved him was how she seemed even more impatient than he was. So now he was the one setting them behind, not that he truthfully could or had the gall to refute it. Wonderful. She wasn't wrong.

"Of course." he simply said trying to move things along smoothly. "J-just one moment..." he added, excusing himself quite hurriedly from the table and took the tape recorder with him to the door. Another assistant standing by outside in the hall was waved down, the device was handed to them and a very specific list of suspected necessary equipment was listed off.

The list included things like more sensitive and equally contrived equipment for detaching pulse and blood pressure, an ultrasound machine, special vials for blood testing for when the vein had been tapped... "And I'll need needles gauges sixteen to ten." because he was aware of how every time you poked her with something somewhere it'd get progressively harder the next time some one had to do it.

It took a minute, and then Tay was back in the room, fully intent on engaging the patient if slipping on a brand new pair of latex gloves was any indicator.

"Alright." he said, testing out fit of the synthetic rubber gloves. "Ms. Bluessummers if you just sit right up here--" he said, patting the examination table to indicate where. "--we can get this show underway."

A tongue compressor was a clue to what he'd have her do next, and that would lead into the rest of the brief sensory workup. The nurse had returned by that time, having brought with them what was needed for the next procedure, taking pulse and blood pressure. They would undoubtedly have to make several trips to obtain all that had been requested, while Tay stood there doing the best he could while keeping in mind that he had prior plans waiting for him.

The internal organ gloss over was done via ultrasound, seeing as how she had adapted well beyond the means of merely pressing down on her abdomen to determine the approximate locale of ambiguous organs. She might've had a larger liver now for all they knew, or three kidneys. Even if that would've been exaggerated in a sense, and not to mention overtly impressive, the scientists were sure a heck not going to leave her innards unmapped. Especially considering that one day probably the ultrasound might not even cut it, and then they'd have to move up on the radiology scale.

Only after the images were saved and sent and all the clear goo had been wiped off, marking an end to chartering the waters physiologic, was the last and possibly messiest test touched upon. Blood work needed to be done. Naturally, this called for a change of sterilized gloves.

"You wouldn't happen to remember what size needle they used on you last time would you?" said Tay as he looked at the normally alarming thicknesses of the set he had called for. It was a good thing he wasn't squeamish, at least when to came to things like this.

Risa stayed asleep for quite sometime, the drugs wrecking havoc and making her feel as if she was trying to breath underwater. By the time she awoke, she tried to jerk her hands up to pull the wires out of the crease in her elbow but found she was strapped in. Nurses, doctors, they all walked around as if she was not there. They stared blankly at her vital signs, making notes on their pads of papers with quizzical looks. The drug was still in her system and it made it difficult for her to talk. It isn't like they would talk back to her, they were safe from her. They wore mask because they didn't dare be so close to her, they didn't want to breath the same air.

She couldn't see where Finch was, or what they were doing to him. The first thing she'd do if she managed to get lose again is break the doctor or intern or whatever his title was. Then, green haired boy would be next. Risa struggled for a moment, trying to look around but her head was tightly strapped in. Panic began to set in, she didn't want to be lab rat. It felt like she couldn't breath. Risa knew if they saw her like this, they might sedate her again and she didn't want that.

She took slow, deep steadying breaths, trying to calm herself down. She could hear them talking about a test they were going to perform. It was some kind of companies drug that was highly volatile. No, this couldn't be happening. It all had to be some sick nightmare. She started to scream now, struggling at her bonds. "FINCH!" She cried out, why she shouted his name, lord only knows. Risa was so scared they were doing something to him, that they were going to do something to her.

They made sure she was strapped tightly, she couldn't get out. Not this time. "FINCH!!!!" Her heart raced and her vital machine lit up like a Christmas tree.

Alexandra Tepes Bluesummers

Alex sat where he indicated and removed her jacket laid back to enable the ultrasound when it came, The ultra sound would detect two separate heart beats unusual active readings from her digestive tracked indicative of an incredible metabolism but beyond that the readings where along her normal aside from the thicker then normal muscle tissue. The five foot eight woman sighed softly as she closed her eyes waiting for the ultra sound to finish when he asked about the size of needles they had used. "I have no Idea but generally my flesh is described as armor grade leather." She shrugged slightly as she set her jaw retreating into her mind.

She stood in a darkness of her own mind sighing softly hiding in her mind to avoid the needle but even here her eyes remained closed as a mental world began to form.

First a silver haired man formed sitting in a luxurious chair with scars running down the left side of his face over his eye, the man wore a black suit his hair pulled back into a tight pony tail and a sinister air about him. "Come now Alexandra why do you play with these amateurs? you know my scientists can do more with your adaption."

Alexandra slowly opened her eyes growling loudly. "Seriously? Every ******** time I have to deal with this memory? this insanity?" She glared at the image before all but the man broke apart into darkness as he smiled softly.

"You know damn well you belong locked in Bluesummers research, their you won;t hurt anyone." A large monstrous Alexandra lumbered out of the darkness. "You will eventually burn this s**t stain camp to the ground."

Alexandra closed her eyes and focused as she clenched her jaws and clenched her fits tightly. In the real world Alexandra clenched her fists and flexed her arms as she set her jaw fighting the urge to lash out against the helpful and brave medical assistant.
