In the not so near future, society has taken a turn for the better. There are no hardships or war. Everything is peaceful and everyone is living happily ever after. There are androids who are there help to help their human counterparts with models that look more human with every model that's released. There are no cars and transportation is done through skytrains, underground trains, and moving sidewalks. Whatever you could possibly need is always in the immediate vicinity so there's no need to rush anymore. Payments, phone's, and communications are done through bracelets.

Instead of war and hate, fashion and entertainment now rule the world. Fashion is of the utmost importance and how you dress is how you're perceived. In fact, the fashion industry has taken top priority in people's lives for those who can afford that luxury. In this utopia, status is everything. It is so important that your social status is tattooed on either your hand or your shoulder. The lower your status, the less respect you receive. However, it is possible to move up in social class if you are willing to make the sacrifice.

It is in this utopia that two very different worlds collide. Can a "modern day" girl become accustomed to this utopia? Will a future girl be able to help her find her place in this society.

. . . Kaydence Westlake . . .

It was almost hard for Kaydence to wake up, excluding the fact that her alarm was blaring. She knew she had to wake up due to the fact that her project was due today, but she almost didn't want to. She also knew that if she didn't get out of bed her alarm would not stop going off. She remembered learning in school that a long time ago, people had "snooze buttons" for their alarms, meaning they could turn the alarm off and get a few more minutes of sleep before actually waking up. What had happened in the past that made this custom disappear? She groaned slightly and lifted her upper body from her simple white bed that hovered above the floor and sighed. Rubbing her eyes with one hand, she flipped back the covers with the other and swung her legs down onto the spotless white carpeted floor. She tilted her head back in defeat as she rose from the bed and made her way to the wall where her alarm was located and placed her hand on the scanner to make the noise stop. Finally, it died down and she rubbed her face with her hands and made her way towards her bathroom.

When she got to the bathroom, the first thing she did was look in the mirror. Her dark brown skin looked well, especially her face, clear and devoid of any blemishes. Her shoulder length naturally curly blonde hair was starting to bore her but she didn't quite know what colour to dye it next. There were no bags under her almond green eyes and her full lips looked fine as well. She took a quick glance at her hourglass shape and pinched her stomach lightly. "Hmm. I might have to start a diet soon." She said to herself before she undressed and made her way to take a shower. After washing her body and washing her face, she stopped the water and started the body dryer as she traced the lines on her pink tattoo that symbolized her middle class status. How people lived without built-in dryers for their showers, she couldn't fathom. Well, she also couldn't fathom how in the world a snooze button worked so she didn't really have room to talk.

After she was dry, she stepped out of the shower, heading towards her mirror once more. She opened it and took out one of her toothpaste capsules, something like a stick of gum, and starting chewing it before she finally made her way to her closet. After putting on her undergarments, she chose her standard work outfit which was a jacket with sheer sleeves and a large white triangle as the main focus of the piece and a pair of white pants with bold black inseams. The highlight of her outfit were her brand new heels that were navy blue with teal LED accents tracing the lines of the shoes and a simple yellow handbag with a body strap. With her outfit picked out, she was almost ready to go and only had her makeup left to do. She wasn't really sure what she would do with her face, so she decided to call her android for help. "Jaelyn! Could you come in here please?" She called out before walking to her bedroom trashcan to spit out the capsule since her teeth were clean and her breath was minty fresh now.

Almost immediately after she called for it, her android showed up just as she was spitting into the trash can. Jaelyn wasn't the most recent model of androids but she wasn't too old either. Kaydence didn't see the point in upgrading her model if her model was fine the way she was. She completed her tasks aptly, blended in with society well, and never interfered with Kaydence's life or work unless asked for input. Jaelyn was a simple looking "person" with no unique features or habits. She was made with fair skin, dirty blonde hair that was always combed back and reached the nape of her neck, round brown eyes and plain lips. She always wore a white dress that hugged her frame with short angled sleeves and reached the floor with a slit on each side that started from her mid-thigh with plain white boots. "Yes Miss Westlake?" Jaelyn's voice was average and sounded quite human when she spoke. She could have fooled any lower class person into thinking she was an actual human being for sure.

"Could you help me with my make up? I have that project due today, you know. I want to make sure I look presentable when I hand it in." Jaelyn nodded and left the room briefly to fetch Kaydence's make up palette. When she returned, she had a shade of a semi-dark orchid eyeshadow, a dark green lipstick and an orange triangle for her cheek. "Wooow! Nice choices Jaelyn. I don't care what other people say about you, you're the best model around." Jaelyn smiled at the compliment but said nothing, as usual, as the android applied the makeup to her owner. Her model was designed to help her owner and more often than not, most models didn't know how to take compliments unless they were the more... "willful" types of androids. "Breakfast is also ready Miss Westlake. Please enjoy your day out." Kaydence nodded and thanked her after she was done and looked around her room to see if she was forgetting anything before she left, aside from the long tube waiting by the door. She spied her bracelet on one of her plain white nightstands and quickly grabbed it and put it on before walking out of her room while picking up the tube by the door.

Kaydence's apartment was the same as any other middle class apartment. Spacious, clean, and white everywhere. That included the living room and kitchen. In the kitchen were white marble countertops, a white stove and oven set, white cabinets, white drawers, and a white refrigerator. The only thing that wasn't white was the dark grey tiled floor. On the counter next to the stove in a to go box of sorts was the breakfast Jaelyn mentioned. Waffles with butter and syrup injected into them and two slices of bacon. This is why I need to diet. She thought as she picked up the box, slung the tube over her shoulders and headed out the front door. "Okay Jaelyn! I'm leaving. Don't forget to tidy the house up!" Kaydence called out to her droid before she left the apartment. She made her way to the elevator, taking it down to the lobby, made her greetings to the lobby workers and left her apartment building.

By the time she made it outside, she was already on her second waffle with the butter and syrup oozing out the waffle and onto her fingers. It was a bright day outside, but her eyes adjusted quickly to the light before she started her way to work by going down a moving sidewalk to the nearest train station.

Demonic Raider

~ Emmaline Starling ~

It had been hard to accept the short timeline that had been placed upon her life. Everything had changed, from the way her friends would treat her, to the way her family spoke to her. School life, home life, and even her working life. Everything had been taken away from her. This terminal illness she'd been diagnosed with, it was ruining her life. Rose Kiss, was the common name for it, an illness that had only developed recently in the last ten years. However so far, not one of its rare victims had lived more than a year. As things had been progressing, it didn't seem like Emmaline had much time either.

Throughout her life, Emma had been an active girl. Whether it was school sports, running, biking, or even swimming, she was often moving. While alot of it was for her competitive spirit, or to just keep in shape, the main reason that Emmaline did all this, was the thrill. Running specifically, just using her legs, it felt good. The wind blowing through her hair, the liberating feeling of hard work. She loved it. All this changed however, when she was diagnosed at age of eighteen. The illness slowly began to drain on her body. She grew tired more quickly, rarely felt hungry, and her strength was leaving her. After just three months, she could no longer participate in her sports, despite trying to anyways. By seven months in, all her friends had distanced themselves, her jobs had fired her. By nine months, Emmaline was in a wheel chair. No longer could her legs support her weight, the muscles were more or less dying, as was the primary affect of the illness. Once it reached the brain or heart, the subject would die. It was at eleven months in, where the Starlings had been given a call.

Emmaline was not long for the world. A month, maybe two tops before she would pass. However, she was selected to be a possible test subject for a new technology in the medical field. Cryo-stasis had been researched for years, a way to stop the body's functions without killing them, and revive the subject later on. So far, nothing had worked, until they came up with one possible idea. The unique way in which Rose Kiss affected the female body, had began to put the cells into a state of vulnerability. The doctors believed that a patient far into Rose Kiss, may have the body needed for Cryo Stasis. It was offered to her as a high risk solution. One that may kill her. However, Emmaline had nothing to live for, nothing left in her world. She had accepted the offer for the risky procedure. This had been the most terrifying part of it all, however she saw no downside regardless. If it works, she might one day be healed, whenever they made a cure.

The girl had been prepped the following week, saying her goodbyes, and placed into the stasis pod. They had no promises on when she'd wake up, or even if the stasis itself would work. In the end however, it had.

Hundreds of years into the future, in a world of androids and fashion, a world of pseudo paradise, Rose Kiss is still around. The illness is still deadly, though as immune systems have evolved, the illness takes at least ten years to take its victims. As well, the cure is as simple as a vaccination for those caught with a fresh case. For those whos bodies are subjected to the full span of the illness, often more drastic measures had to be taken. Sometimes, in the form of robotic replacements. All in all however, the illness rarely threatens any female's lives anymore, in this perfect society.

Three years back, scientists on an archeological dig had discovered technology from the past. While technology was now far ahead of that of the past, scientists did have trouble with the systems and their safety locks. One of the many things recovered, was an old stasis pod. It was to be taken to the labs to be disassembled, despite the figure of a human girl within. As far as the scientists were concerned, regardless of why she was inside, there was no way she was still alive. Simply breaking the pod would likely kill her, even if she were alive. However at the news of this discovery, the CEO of one of the top ten fashion institutions in the world had taken notice. She had decided that the pod, in its ancient yet sleek design and the woman within, was simply, beautiful. And it was, as far as many were concerned. She and her cage were considered perfection, a thing of true beauty from the past. The CEO ended up putting the pod on display in the main entrance hall of her company's building, the pod encased in geostatic crystals, as well as rock, giving it the appearance of a geode. It had been named, Fossilized Goddess and served as an icon of beauty to the fashion world.

Up until this morning. As if out of nowhere, cold air, followed by steam began to seep from the pod. Lights began to dance along its surface, and the window to the girl within began to cloud up. A series of computerized sounds followed. Some of the geostatic crystals began to fall off the pod statue, crumbling to the ground. Following this, the pod began to open, the hatch sliding sideways with ease. The pod's life support systems began to heat up the body within, injecting it through a series of tubes attacked to the spine with some kind of substance. The lights on the pod, previously all red, soon turned green as colour began to return to the face of the frozen maiden. And as her breathing began to start, the pod began to push the body's head outward, to rest teh body, should it have been laying down. However in its displayed upright state, this was just enough to tip the figure out of its icey prison. Still as can be, the girl fell from the pod's elevated height of twelve feet, crashing into the neo-marble flooring, previously spotless.

The body laid still, splayed out across the floor. It was thin, petite, and beyond slender. The face was young, a peaceful look upon it. She was five foot seven, short for a girl in this age. Her hair, was a rather light blonde in colour, grown out well past her feet in length, fanned out around her. While Stasis had slowed her body's aging to only a single year, her hair had grown faster. Tattooed across the side of her neck, was 'Alice-RK-001'.

Unconscious, damaged, the pure, blonde female remained on the floor, at last freed from her prison of science and brought into the heart of fashion.

. . . Kaydence Westlake . . .

By the time Kaydence got to work, her breakfast was done and she was early as always. Her train ride had been the same it had always been, uneventful and quite normal (by her standards). Before she walked into the building, she took a deep sigh and prepared herself for her presentation for her boss even though it wasn’t until an hour from now. Her boss was no nonsense, though she seemed to favour Kaydence at times. It was hard to tell with that woman. Her co-workers all agreed that the CEO was a very strange and willful woman, almost eccentric to a fault. Especially with her recent purchase of a frozen girl from the 21st century. When Kaydence first stepped into the building that day and she looked up, she had to pause to make sure she wasn’t going crazy or in need of glasses. Surely there was no possible way that there was a strange looking… container of sorts elevated off the ground by about twelve or so feet with a strange girl inside of it.

She wasn’t seeing things that day as a coworker saw her looking up at the girl and told Kaydence that it was real and she was not seeing things or going crazy. At first, Kaydence thought the whole thing was sort of creepy. There was so much… dirt and rock and crystal. She had never travelled outside the city before. From her apartment window, she could see the ocean and the trees beyond it, but she’d never wanted to be near either. Yes, there were some trees lining the sidewalks, but there was no visible dirt or rock. Also, the girl inside looked like she was positively dying and that was not Kaydence’s cup of tea.

Over time though, Kaydence started to get used to the 21st century girl in her container surrounded by dirt and rock and crystal. Hell, the girl even served as Kaydence’s source of inspiration for her designs sometimes. The girl had also gotten Kaydence to be a little more accepting of the nature that surrounded the city. She was never going to go into it though, that was just absolutely crazy. Even today, Kaydence’s designs were based from the crystals surrounding the 21st century girl and she thought they had come out quite nice. She had confidence that her designs would do well with her boss, but again, the woman was absolutely strange and incredibly hard to read. Kaydence looked at the building, squared her shoulders, and walked inside only to find a crowd of people looking up. Kaydence looked around at their faces and saw some with fear, some with shock, and some just… frozen.

When Kaydence first looked up, it was only then did she start to hear the strange noises coming from the container that contained the frozen girl. The container was lit up with red lights and she couldn’t see the girl’s face anymore. Then, crystals started to fall and some people in the crowd gasped and backed up even more from the pod. All except Kaydence that is. She was fascinated and took two small steps forward in front of the crowd to properly see what was happening. That was when the container started to open, the lights turned from a glaring red to a more calm green, and Kaydence could start to see the girl’s face again. However, instead of the girl’s face being a bluish grey colour, it started to turn to a healthy pink. Then, in a blink of an eye, the girl fell from the container straight to the floor.

Kaydence gasped and hurried to the girl’s body, kneeling down to check on her. She was so thin and looked so fragile that Kaydence was afraid to touch her. Her hair was the longest length Kaydence had ever seen in her life as she brushed some of the golden tresses from the fallen girl’s face. This close to her, Kaydence could see why her boss would want to have put this girl on display. She was absolutely beautiful for someone who lived in the 21st century. Kaydence saw the tattoo on her neck that read ‘Alice-RK-001’ and figured that was the girl’s name. She turned Alice over to her back and pulled her onto her own lap. Alice’s blonde hair was everywhere. Kaydence placed one hand on Alice’s forehead to check her temperature and placed a finger under her nose to check her breathing. Alice was doing fine in terms of those, but the fall definitely bruised the poor girl and she would need immediate medical attention. Kaydence looked up at the crowd to see them still staring. “What the hell are you all standing there for?! Call the paramedics!” She yelled at them, before looking back at Alice, while the others scrambled around to dial the number for the paramedics. Kaydence took off her tube and purse, then took off her jacket and covered the girl with it while she waited for the paramedics to arrive.

ooc::again, i'm totally sorry that i took so long to reply. life just happened for a quick spurt out of nowhere and i was not expecting it at all. but i'm on summer break now so hopefully i won't become too busy and my posts can be more regular. i will totally understand if you don't want to rp with me anymore though.

Demonic Raider

~ Emmaline Starling Alice ~

Laying still upon the floor until Kaydence picked her up onto her lap, the girl's breathing was weak. Her naked side had already started to show signs of bruising from the fall, her body nude and unprotected from the elements. The girl's fingers and toes remained a blueish tinge, while the rest of her body had regained a mostly healthy pale pink. While very much still near the end of her rope, 'Alice' was alive.

The crowd around them began to call the paramedics, all marveling at the blonde woman that had come free. Some were terrified, others entranced. Most simply surprised. The pod had been displayed for some time now, earning various nicknames, though most did call her 'Goddess', the sleeping beauty within the out of time structure. From time to time, some employees even went as far as to say they wanted to be like their Goddess when they were to dye. Displayed with their youth for the world to see. For some, it was just twisted.

Within a short fifteen minutes, paramedics had arrived on the scene. One of the less fanatical bystanders began to fill in their boss on the situation while the rest of the team rushed to the girl's side. Bringing the girl up onto a floating stretcher, the one paramedic began to analyze her body with their scanners, while another began to inject her with a stabilizing agent in the arm. A third was already drawing blood. This girl wasn't exactly famous, but she was known well enough through this section of the city. Discovering the state of her body was far more important than with the average medical call.

"Sir, among other things, she carries Rose Kiss. Likely for a long time" One of the paramedics said to his superior. This of course, earning a range of outcries from the crowd. Rose Kiss was something rare, but for anyone to allow themselves to carry it without cure for more than a month was nearly unheard of. It was just so easy to stop in its early stages these days. The paramedics continued to talk for a few minutes while tending to the girl's immediate concerns. However she was too fragile and strange to them to be able to do much on site.

Before long she was loaded into the ambulance unit before one of the paramedics came over to Kaydence. "Ma'am, if you don't mind we need you to come with us to the hospital. We need to hear your exact account on this girl's incident and history. Plus, you were the only one in direct contact with her, it would be best to give you an examination incase you picked up any foreign illness off of her. Theres no telling what direct contact could do" The man explained.

Some of the crowd backed away, worried that Kaydence was infected by something, and that they too would be if they stayed near. Others, kept trying to get closer to get a better look at 'Alice' before she was shut away into the care unit.
