Firstly, awesome list! I definitely think it's a useful addition to our guides and resources. Good luck with all the work! (Hopefully Gaia will turn away from making Japanese items for awhile and start to branch out a bit more.)

Secondly, I'm a little confused about the Wandering Maestro set being on the list. I could just be missing something, or just be completely ignorant, but I'm not seeing any Asian reference at all. (In fact, it feels rather European to me.) Am I right, or am I crazy? (I must know!)

Thanks so much. I'm curious to see how far this stuff will go, I may end up remaking the thread down the road depending how extensive stuff gets.

As to Wandering Maestro- there's actually Asian instruments in there like a biwa/lute, zither, a qipao-like top and sleeves. It seems really weird but that's why I'm digging as much as I can because there's tons of items that have hidden stuff to them like the Maestro. On the surface it may seem European but further investigation shows that it has more to offer. Same goes to Gift of the Gods/Goddess.

Oooo, nice list! I'm interested in how this list will turn out!

Hmm... wouldn't the Orinkage items fall under Japan category since it's a reference to it's popular Naruto anime/manga?

and would game references also count in this list, or is this mostly about culture and not about what belongs to who? I know of a few that would belong to Japanese category.

Thanks! Working away at this like nuts haha.

Orinkage was going to fall under Japan but then I figured with the use of the clouds which is Asiatic in style and not just Japanese-centric, plus the scroll could be used in other formats as well...I figured it'd be better to put under Fantasy/Fusion.

Games are iffy. If the costumes and weapons are obviously Asian (Dynasty Warriors, ect.) then I'll definitely add them, but I think there's a game/cosplay guide, so there would be some overlap. I'll add links to them. I'm thinking on doing some comprehensive additional posts on things such as instruments and weapons.

But overall I put items based on what has the strongest cultural influence in that specific country.

Would Vocaloid count then? It's like really popular in Japan and they even host holographic concerts to them.
And Japanese street fashion? Like Decora, Visual Kei, etc.

That's alright haha. I'm not sure if I want to expand into Vocaloid or street fashion because I'm not really sure if someone else has tackled them. If not then I'll take a stab at it. I have some knowledge, but I'll need as much input possible because I'm more familiar with historic costumes. I know lolita/street fashion and jrock/visual kei stuff, but it's not something I'm constantly keeping up with.
