Even when I was single it didn't bother me.
So why do you hate a day that, if you're in a relationship, you get free chocolates?
(And just the same when you're single, you get discount chocolates afterward...?)

Because it makes a lot of single people feel shitty because no one's giving them chocolate and chocolate is good.

I know a lot of people don't dig it because it has become a cheesy holiday overran by Hallmark like companies and whatnot.

But I mean, the idea of it isn't awful and if people would focus on the original* reason for it maybe it'd be better.

*which is obviously discounted chocolates after it's over

I don't hate it
I just find it ridiculous to capitalize on one's feelings for their S/O?

Also it makes people who haven't got an S/O more depressed?

I still want my free gifts tho so rofl

Friendly Codger

I think the only problem with it is that people focus way too much on the fact that the day is "commercialized" and that they have to love so much more on that day.

It's nice in general, but I find that Valentine's Day is a lot like New Year's Day.

You have "plans" to make yourself better with goals on New Year's Day and really you should focus on bettering yourself all year long.

On Valentine's Day you have to be more affectionate with your significant other, or you need a valentine for that day. It should be more focused on loving people any time of the year. Or something like that.

I dunno. ._.
