Even when I was single it didn't bother me.
So why do you hate a day that, if you're in a relationship, you get free chocolates?
(And just the same when you're single, you get discount chocolates afterward...?)
I think the only problem with it is that people focus way too much on the fact that the day is "commercialized" and that they have to love so much more on that day.
It's nice in general, but I find that Valentine's Day is a lot like New Year's Day.
You have "plans" to make yourself better with goals on New Year's Day and really you should focus on bettering yourself all year long.
On Valentine's Day you have to be more affectionate with your significant other, or you need a valentine for that day. It should be more focused on loving people any time of the year. Or something like that.
