Welcome to Gaia! ::

I wasn't sure where exactly I should put this. I have been logged in to Gaia at least 3 times now when my browser suddenly redirects to a bunch of porn sites, and a "security alert" pop up shows up to say that my phone had been infected with a Trojan called Tapsnake, and that I need to download an app specifically for removing this threat. It has only happened while I'm on Gaia. What the eff is going on? XD

It also opens up the Google Play Store...

Oh, and if you download the Tapsnake Removal security app, it installs a tracking app to your device. I read about it on symantec.com 3nodding

Gaia uses 3rd Party Advertising and doesn't get to filter what comes through to their site. Usually these ad providers are providing relevant advertisements to what you recently searched/visited (depending on your settings around the net and what these ad providers are able to know about you... I don't know much about how to block them from this I just use adblock to not see it).

Sometimes bad advertisements sneak through the 3rd Parties and this is how you may start getting crap like what you're reporting... though usually you still needed to have clicked and downloaded something at some point.

(http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/bug-report-technical-support/how-to-report-inappropriate-ads-on-gaia-updated-procedure/t.85330633/) here is where you can see how to report inappropriate ads as you come across them. This will help Gaia report the issue to their ad provider and have them removed as quickly as they can.
