So im trying to take macro images of my stock with my recently purchased Nikon D7000 + tamron 90mm f/2.8 lens.
But I can't seem to get it to focus on a piece as a whole.
It will be sharp at either the top half, the middle or the bottom half.
Ive been playing with settings for a bit now but it doesn't really get much better.
guess this is my thread, i'm a customer care agent for nikon.
first of all, don't ******** use a tamron lens rofl.
and most importantly: the depth of field is dependant on the aperture.
increase the aperture number (f/ number that is), and don't forget to compensate the exposure loss by either lowering the shutter speed or increasing ISO (recommended to increase ISO).

Any hints?
from the looks of your photo, you are shooting wide open (most likely at f/2.8 ).
take it somewhere a bit brighter (open shade would work), and set your camera to a smaller aperture like 11 or 16. you will have to compensate your shutter speed. good luck!
