And, hopefully,...our futures
- - - Personal Information

Personality:

Bio: Altair grew up in a time of peace between the elements. While certain animosities remained, there was no war, leaving the Air Kingdom with the time and resources for the people to live out their lives how they wanted. For Altair, that meant he was free to study. Over the years he became a near expert in many subjects, including literature, weaponry, political and environmental science, various fighting styles/martial arts (particularly those that utilized a sword), and especially the original elements (what little that is known about them) and the development of elemental powers overtime.

Altair's cunning intellect and wide range of knowledge, as well as his powerful personality, are what would eventually land him a place in the council at age twenty-nine, making him the youngest member in history. However, there were rumors that his young success was really thanks to the doing of his wife, Solana.

Solana was a low-ranking council attendant whom Altair had met by chance and wed years before his endeavors to become a council member began. In fact, they had already had Arria (7) and Aveline (3) when Altair became appointed to the position.

Still, many persisted that it was by Solana's trickery that Altair attained his seat. Although from an extremely low-ranked and impoverished family, Solana wore her hair long like a noblewoman even before she married Altair, who was of noble blood--not because she meant any disrespect, but because that was how she liked it, and Solana was well known for doing what she liked. A natural beauty with an endearing personality, those who did not love her, mainly the women of the town whose husbands happened to have wandering eyes, outright hated her, labeling Solana as a common whore. These were the same people who accused her of such crimes as lying about her heritage in order to marry Altair, and "persuading" the council to give Altair his position.

These were also the people who, when they failed to have Solana convicted for her supposed crimes, took instead to poisoning her food. Solana died shortly after Arria's eighth birthday.

Solana's death appeared to be from natural causes, but Altair always had his suspicions, even if he could never prove or act upon them. From then on he kept a tighter grip on his daughters, especially Arria, who was entering the age of public scrutiny with the fresh loss of a mother and powers that did not belong. Altair lost all trace of the joyous and loving father and husband he had been during Solana's life, shifting back to the strict man he had been before, but much more severe.

Since Aveline and the statues' disappearances, as well as the start of the war, his personality has taken another drastic, and especially dark, turn. Although he wants nothing more than to find Aveline and bring her back, or at the very least punish whoever took her, his duty to the Valaia reminds him that he cannot exhaust their resources on what may be a fruitless search. Instead, he has settled on organizing attacks on every other kingdom, seeking to bring them to their knees.

Likes:
+ His daughters (despite his rigid demeanor, he does love them)
+ Books
+ Strong wind (it strengthens his power and reassures him)

Dislikes:
- Most noble women (with good reason)
- Sweet tastes
- Being idle
- Disloyalty

Fears: Losing his last girl, Arria, and Valaia falling.

We cannot forget the past...lest it repeats itself
