Back in the days of yore Gaia was simply stuck with only some basic
shades and almost everyone was wearing Angelic Blues, Demonic Reds
and Rainbows.

However with the start of the Recolor Revolution lately, Gaia's been gaining a lot
more mainstream color schemes that everyone can use as opposed to those once
in a blue moon items which only matches itself.

As for me, I used to wear the usual Demonic Red and Black, and before
the plentiful recolors, mostly monochrome black and white.
However the Cobalt/Navy/Denim recolors have sort of really crept up slowly
on me and now I've sold the majority of my old Demonic red colors to repopulate
my inventory with the Cobalt spectrum.

It's not exactly a very WOW sort of color, but the color scheme really grew on
me and it was sort of life changing (in the Gaia-way) of dressing up my avi and
my general avi style. Now I'm always happy to see more recolors released
of items in that scheme.

However there are some recolor schemes I really don't get, an example would be: User Image Kingly Kodona.
It's such an odd shade of Bonze-Orangey-Blue XD I'm not sure if there are a lot of items
that even match that certain off shade.

Also green. WHAT IS UP WITH GAIA AND GREEN? gonk
If it's not Toxic in shade, it's almost always a little off to match all the
other green items. OTL

the mint and purple colors in squirt fest

once upon a time i loved that mint but it was so goddamn hard to match with anything that i gave up on it for what i thought would be forever
but then suddenly gaia started releasing items using that color WITHOUT THE YELLOWCREME and i was like "godDAMN GOT TO GET ME ALL OF THOSE"

the lavender (and decent purples in general) was really lacking for a long time, too, but then it caught on so gaia started shitting stuff out in lavender, royal purple, and even ~lilac~

and that saturn-purple color that's got the weird shading
man i think there are like 10 items total using that color scheme we need more of that

the scheme i love the most is orange and black
not orange and almost black but still pretty brown
orange and black
and it kills me that all the good items this year released around halloween to get on the orange hypetrain were goddamn orange and brown
don't get me wrong they were nice items and i tried to get as many as possible because orange emotion_kirakira but i really wish they'd been orange and black

also green/red for reasons

FOREST GREENS, black/reds, black whites.

some "failed" because the item in question isn't exactly the most popular thing in existance, no color combo should be stopped just because of that
plus if you put them in a RIG people are kinda forced to buy them anyway emotion_awesome

I understand what you mean.
I REALLY hate how Gaia's been doing the Brown-Black shade.
It's kind of killing me when it comes to matching items.
Especially when instead of the expected Monochrome you either
get White + Brownish Black or Creamy White + Black-Black. D:

And you end up going WHYYYYYY??!??! gonk

User ImageI'm in love with the dark purple they have been using on recolours. It's such a sensible colour.
I have mixed feelings on the greens. The forest greens are lovely, but paired with either gold or brown, the toxic greens were nice before they were the recolour colour(meaning I like one item in that colour), and the tealy green is always paired with gold in a gradient pattern which puts me off them.
So if I had to pick a combo to stop it would be the teal green/gold combo. What was wrong with pairing it with black/white like all of the items I am using. But I love the fact they are making more green things.

Anything Navy is a fail for me. I know people like it, which is fine. But for me, whenever I see that exact same shade of navy, I sigh in discontent. It looks flat to me.

There's also this recolour style in which an item that was once colourful ends up washed out and monotonic.

I think specifically of this pink dusty colour like in the new item Noel's Gracious Gift User Image

It's not a bad colour, but because I've seen the item in multicolours, I can't help but see it as washed out, like I'm viewing it on a black and white tv.

    Hehe, toxic green is my favorite green. Makes me want
    to listen to all my industrial music and brood over the fact
    that I don't live in Europe.

    Trying to think of an absolute favorite recolor.. I do love
    the black and white Raiding Majesty. It's freaking amazing
    though, how they've recolored so many items SO many
    different color combos. I think that's what I love the most.
    Because there isn't just black and white, there is black and
    gold, black and rich grays, browns, creams, light pink, dark
    pink, etc. @A@

    sometimes there are that many options and more for one
    particular item. And if they don't have the color combo I
    want I sit back and wonder 'why?' xd because if they made
    so many recolors, how on earth did they not make the one
    I wanted? lol

To me it's like some odd kind of health smoothie/blueberry yoghurt type
of hue and I just find it disgusting because of what it makes me think of gonk

I do like that new type of mint they're trying to make thing of that the new
daughter of snows recolor has. And I'm glad they're not doing everything
in lavender like did a few months ago :/ (ironically I'm wearing it right now xD)

Has such a weird combination of blue/violet/lavender shades that it's annoyingly
frustrating trying to match up everything D: But it's an awesome item though
with the Checkmate blue recolor looking really good.

Good thing though that gaia recolors a lot of items with that
shade of purple, I'm sure you could find something if you just
put your mind to it :'P
Oooor, whine enough about it in the SF and they might recolor
more "male" items to match it. Somehow I believe that's less
likely to happen though rofl

Seconding the discontent with the navy blue color scheme. I liked it in the beginning but it became so overused that I now tire of it. Especially when it's used with that cream-ish gold color. Can't really bring myself to stop using it because it feels like it goes so well with my skin, though.

What I long to see is more sapphire blue. It's like a good medium between "Checkmate" and navy blue and its richness just pops out to me so nicely that I'm surprised it's not used more often.

Vivid blues are my favorite color schemes. Because my OC has blue hair and sky blue eyes so I appreciate when I can find colors like that. And the main reason why I can really appreciate the recent checkmate color.

But I'm thirding with the navy. It works well as an accent to another color, but doesn't really go well as a main color. But really any recolors that lessens the oomph that the original had.
