Sooo I'm one of the old people who have pretty much been here since the beginning of Gaia..(proud '03, '04 on this account)
We've always had trick or treat through towns and stores....
I however have not seen it this year..
So is there none this year?

I have been told the secret to trick or treating!

Not sure about towns, but Shops are definitely doing it, like always cat_3nodding

Trick or Treat is still available in the shops, but a lot of people are noting a glitch. Here's the workaround:

Collect all the candy you see. Then, make sure to pick up the "hidden" candy in Treehouse, Faktori, and Dernier Cri. This should reset the shops and make all the candy show up again except at these three stores. They remain hidden, so don't forget to pick them up!

There is store trick or treating, but towns ToT is one of the things that hasn't been re-implemented yet. (It's been gone since around the time they added Towns 2; I'm unsure how far along the progress is with that.)

That trick for the stores may be why I haven't been able to do it.

I've been doing what i could on my phone while I worked, shhh! don't tell!

I'll try that trick and see if it'll work for me then.
I go and there's none of the usual candy our of total candies gathered thing going on.

not sure ... i can see that we can only collect candy in the shops only once sad how do we get any more?

I think the wait got downgraded to a minute or two due to the increase in candy required.

The wait in stores is a lot shorter this time around, something like 30 seconds or 1 min. 3nodding
Candy is also only given out in the normal shops, not the cash ones. Go to Barton Boutique if you haven't checked there yet. (Though it could just be a phone thing like you said. I dunno.)

I couldn't even get it on my laptop. That's why I was unsure if there was any.
I used my browser on my phone to do it at work and it didn't show up.
I haven't tried to do it in the app yet though. but now it's working on the laptop.
