Why do I have to defeat my own boss?
I just beat Aria(finally) and now I have to go against Chauntelle right after that o -o? why?

I think it might be a glitch.
I had to defeat 3 Boss Battles in a row before I was able to do anything else the other day.

It's because you had turns left over. Make sure to use all your turns. If you don't want to fight the boss, just waste your turns and go back to what you were doing.
