So, for the redeeming of soul candies, if you're trying to go for specific items, do you want to wait till it's 0/500 or 500/500? Like, is it 0 granted out of 500, or 500 left out of 500?

You want to wait until it's 500/500
They only release Advo items in random waves of 500
With the exception of the Vest, Belt, Shoes, and Pants (I think that's all) which are given to you randomly, despite the other Advo items' availability

At least, that's how I think it works cat_sweatdrop
