Quasimodo
With little much else to do, Quasimodo took note of the nuances that his savior exhibited, noticing the rather pleased look she had in her eyes at his apparent recovery before being startled enough to change back into a cat by something. In his curiosity, the strange little person wondered what was happening to the others in that floating castle in the sky, deep in thought of whether the three others he traveled with were able to gain what each of them were after. Quasimodo was hoping that the creature he had fought earlier was the only moving obstacle that was present, but considering the immensity of the structure, the possibility of encountering more dangers like the one-eyed entity was very high.

As there was no help for it, Quasimodo simply pondered on what he experienced thus far while in Wintersrowe; navigating through the chaos of an all-out war, becoming a resident of an estate, undergoing a powerful awakening of the mind, meeting a nice bird lady that offered him food and shelter, flying upwards toward a giant castle in the sky to help three complete strangers, and fighting off a dangerous creature without killing it while they were both falling right out of the sky. All the while, the silly weirdo was so caught up in the events and festivities that he forgot to restock on foodstuffs for himself and his companion Traveler.

Remembering that there was still plenty of food for his small feather companion, Quasimodo didn't have much else to worry about except to regain his strength and figure out what to do next. Seeing the furry sleeping form of this new companion, the childlike being felt a sense of comfort and warmth, which allowed him to close his eye and rest.

Pride feeds their blackened hearts.
And the thirst must be quenched to fuel hypocrisy
Cleansing flames is the only way to repent.
Renounce what made you
Words that kill
Would you speak them to me?
With your breath so still,
It makes me believe

Alastair noticed the woman come to his side defending him with his ice powers, though he had no idea why he was receiving help from the dark skinned female, she used ice to stop some of the men from coming towards him. Alastair was interested in finishing this on his own, he didn't have such a problem with the help he was receiving but then again he didn't care that much and he was getting slightly bored with everything that was going around him as soon as he turned towards the men he could see the women infant of them negating his magic though it wouldn't work on someone like him. Alastair watched at the women shot blades of wind towards him, if this was what she called at attack then she obviously didn't know what he was. He slowly struck his hand down across the wind creating a ripple in reality cutting through the dimensional plane of wind. '' Now, I'm gonna show you all some real power.'' he aid ss he made hand signs with his fingers, he slowly watched as the leader and his men were running towards him. '

' Ei, Mitsu, Rai. Toni, Noi, Rodu, Kai.'' he said as a massive burt of spirtual energy surrounded him, this was enough to probably kill them since as soon as the leader tried to punch him he began to lose the rest of his arm along with his face. In truth though, Alastair wasn't really even trying to show his real power. He learned how to control spiritual energies along time ago even channelling them into weapons and using techniques such as these. The leader slowly began to scream as his body began to crumble into dust. Alastair and the dark skinned woman were still surrounded but the men were slightly scared of his next move. The spiritual energy surround him disappeared as they continued running towards him. Alastair began to get bored of the situation though, he turned slowly walking through the men as he didn't care about this fight anymore. He didn't care about the men surrounding him anymore now.

Though he couldn't leave the action just yet as he could see the hooded girl with a collar and a chain that fell down to the ground, it was possible that the leader was controlling her, it was a sad fate for her. He slowly walked back to her, walking up closer to her he slowly lifted the collar off of her. He held it in his hand crushing it tightly as he looked over towards her, she seemed like a poor soul that had be bound to this stupid gang. It wasn't a very nice fate, she was free to do as she pleased now. The collar had turned into little pieces of metal, the men were slightly angry but they were frozen and scared of Alastair. '' Well you're free now.'' he said as he crossed his arm lightly. '' You don't have to go around serving these idiots.'' he said with a light smile towards her as he turned lightly.

As a matter of fact he was more concerned with his new job more than anything else and Theo who was his daughter. She was very important to him, though eventually she would find out that he was her father. '' I don't have time for these rodents who think they should be using a woman because they don't have power themselves.'' he said crossing his arms lightly. '' If you really want to be with those fools who don't treat you right then go ahead and be with them.'' he said as he was addressing the nodded female. He turned his head towards the dark haired female and then said '' Thanks for the help.'' He smiled towards her and lightly walked across the street, the men at this point were shouting at Alastair but he was ignoring the whole situation. Alastair had a feeling that the hooded woman wasn't there of her own free will, he had a sort of hunch for these things though didn't act on it as much.

He wasn't always right about such things but he had a feeling that she wasn't much of a bad person. '' Now I have to go to a place where I won't be attacked every hour.'' he said as he walked down across the street, he didn't really know if he was going to be followed or not but all he wanted to do was have a quiet drink in the park and maybe meet up with a nice woman, if that were possibly in this city. He noticed that he had broken his bottle of whisky during the fight which meant he would have to buy another, what an annoying day this was for him. Alastair lightly walked down the path towards Heavens Basement with a slight sigh escaping from his mouth. He slowly opened the door walking over to the bar lazily. '' Two big bottles of whisky please.'' he said as the bar tender grabbed down bottles of water from under the counter. Alastair place a bag of money on the table and lightly grabbed the bottles, he walked over to a big table placing the two bottles on the table and sat down on the chair.

Alastair opened up a bottle of whisky and the bar tender placed a glass of ice on the table lightly, Alastair slowly poured a the bottle of whisky into a glass and lightly drank from it, he sighed once more. The fight was pointless in his eyes other than when the mysterious woman came in, she was a bit of a challenge but he didn't have any reason to fight her unless she was the type to just fight for fun. Fairly was another concept, sometimes he liked to fight without using his godly powers and it always seemed to work rather well for him. He was always looking for people to fight, though he didn't actually go out asking for it unless someone else did.

The Sins never die.
Can't wash this blood off our hands.
Let the world fear us all.
It's just means to an end.
Our salvation lies in the Father's sins.
Beyond the truth,
Let me suffer now.
In my heart I just know that there's no way to light up the dark in his eyes

The dark hues of the covered woman turned curious as she rode up alongside of the horseman, he still held in his hand his firearm as if he was expecting to run into someone that he could potentially shoot. When he turned his attention towards her it became clear that he had in fact been waiting for something to shoot though it appeared she was not what he had thought she may be and instead just stared at her. The silent moments ticked by as they watched each other finding intent or purpose, she wondered why there was nothing there. Everyone was tainted with Sin even if it was only a blemish upon their person, he… had none. But then again how she went about searching for Sin was mostly in mortal beings. So what was he?
All thoughts were drawn back as he moved his hand; the gun that had been glinting in the light was put away into its holders. Dark eyes wondered why he had put it away now, though they drifted up his arm and once more settled on his face. The ride to Wintersrowe had been long so the fact his gun held more curiosity for her than anything else at the moment was a sign she needed to get something inside of her to wake her up. Could be anything really, perhaps a soul, maybe some whiskey… something of a more carnal nature. Anything would do at this point. Gently Chalise reached up with a free hand and pulled the wool fabric from in front of her nose and lips, letting out a short breath in the cold air before shaking her head. A bit of cold would do her some good and wake her up.
The accented voice the cowboy beside her caused her eyes to wonder back to him. So he was headed to Heaven’s Basement as well, the longer he spoke the more a smile curved up the corner of her lips. Even the mild threat she had found pretty amusing.
”Oh, I always aim to misbehave…”
She let the words glide from her lips as she took a glance forward, though the horse already knew which way to go so there was no real point in keeping an eye on the road. But she looked back at him, the look in his eyes different from the expression on his face, weathered in a way… harboring secrets, so many secrets.
”You looked prepared for trouble moments before anyway, maybe you are the one who will be causing trouble.”
It wasn’t long before they would arrive at Heavens Basement. Once there Chalise swung her leg off and down off of the buck skin, patting him affectionately on the neck before glancing around. Then towards the other as he was near enough still.
”Are there stables in this town?”
If not she supposed he would be well enough on his own but she would have to find some feed and a watering source once she had done something to wake herself up.

"I see." Tao said, referring to the Soriath being nuts. He couldn't argue with Bane on that point at any rate. He blinked at what Bane had to say next, a bit confused, but after rethinking certain events that had happened recently, proceeded to not be as confused as before. "She trusts you a lot if she put you in charge." he said. "But I can kinda understand the suckage of suddenly having this kind of responsibility suddenly thrown upon you without being told about it before hand." he added. Frankly he really couldn't know what Bane was feeling at the moment, but he could at least attempt to cheer him up, if he doesn't completely fail at it though.

Under her the feline known as Mysty could feel that the little creature she was on had begun to get comfortable. She could tell because the rise and fall of her little fuzzy form on his chest had gotten more even, he was breathing more steady. Now she just couldn’t have that, she was supposed to be a burden of kinds, why because she was a cat. What selfrespecting feline allowed someone else to be comforted by their pressense, Misty was not going to have that.
Her yellow eyes opened slightly, never having been asleep merely cat napping, her pupils nothing but thin slits against a yellow iris giving her the appearance of annoyance. Even if he was not looking at her she was looking at him. Reaching forward with a paw she placed a black paw with white toes right on his lips, swatting at him there just with her paw. No she wasn’t employing the use of her claws… not yet anyway. But she wanted to make it clear… he wasn’t supposed to be comfortable under her. He was supposed to be annoyed or bothered or something, anything but comfortable. Her paw kept moving along his chin and lips to try and wake him up. And the moment he would open his eyes she would stop, for a few moments then start up again.

When her wind was stopped before it could reach its marks, the hooded figure couldn’t help but feel a little relieved, the things she had done in the name of other people and without her consent. She did not know if her soul could bare another black mark on it like hurting or killing someone. Yet what happened instead was a little more overwhelming for her. At her attack some of the gang members had rushed forward to follow up on her attack, yet as the leader of this motly crew threw a punch forward he was met with something entirely different than flesh. When he collided with the field the hooded creature watched as his arm melted away into nothing but ash that drifted away swiftly from the force building around the man. The concusive force of the energy blast had knocked the frail creature from her barely standing position down onto her rear end on the ground, she made a soft whimper. It had hurt to fall even that far.
Still she sat there and closed her eyes tightly expecting the energy to consume her as it had done the leader but when she opened her eyes she noticed that the energy was being displaced and moving around her. It seemed some of her natural abilities still worked regardless of how weak she had become. She watched as it washed along the force field of sorts at either side of her as if someone had just shoved a shield right in front of her and it was breaking at both sides. All who had rushed forward had been vanquished and she watched the white haired male walk towards her. Instinctively she pulled her legs up close to her and was waiting to be struck her harmed in some way. Instead the chain at her collar was grabbed forcing her eyes open as the small tug had caused a spike to jut against the back of her neck. Wincing she felt a bit of blood trickle down her back where it had pierced her flesh, though he would not know till he ripped the collar off that it had been spiked around the inside. With a heavy sigh she looked up and watched as he broke the collar into nothing but small pieces that fell to the ground in front of her.
Was it truly that simple was she free now? When he had moved the collar it had shifted the hood enough that her face could just been barely seen, not so shrouded as before. But he just walked away, her eyes moved and looked at the others who were still trying to fight him but he would have none of it and just left them. Someone came near to her and smacked her and ordered her to get up and get back to where she had come from. Anger filled her for that split second; the fresh grass around their feet quickly shot up tree roots and impaled the man. Elle would not be party to this kind of life not so long as she was free of that collar.
With her assailant dead on a pike and the others backing away slowly, Elle paid them no mind and just started to walk. She had no real destination in mind she was just walking, more like stumbling, along. The frail woman hadn’t realized that she was following after the one who had released her, she was just moving along as the lights were beginning to fade in and out. When was the last time she had anything to eat, much less drink? She couldn’t remember… Before Elle knew it there was a door in her way, it took quite a bit of strength to open the door to Heaven’s Basement and stumble in. Standing there in the doorway she looked around the room unsure of where she was or why she was here, but then dark eyes hidden by the hood fell upon the only person in the room she recognized, Alistair. Taking in a deep breath she tried to get something out but her throat was dry and her lips were cracked, nothing came out. With no more energy to push on her knees buckled and she fell to her side slightly reaching out for him, this time when she fell she cried out in pain. No more collar… she could at last make sounds.

Glancing over towards Tao, he got that the guy was trying to lift him up a little bit, but it really wasn’t helping. Bane knew he was that guy that sort of just lingered in the shadows and watched things going on, and when someone started to get out of hand he showed a little fang and things settled down again. Kyoko was the face of the estates and the whole whatever the hell this was, mostly because she was pretty and looked pleasant all the time. He on the other hand looked like someone rained on his parade most days. Was that someone you wanted to speak for you in anything? Granted he would try because it was Kyoko but he wasn’t going to be happy about it, not in the slightest.
Grumbling Bane just leaned back up against the counter, which had sort of thrown his day in for a loop, fixing the ******** plumbing didn’t sound like it was all too important now. ”I need a drink… you want one?” The red headed male questioned and went to the fridge nearby and opened it up. He would pause long enough to grab one for him and then one for Tao should he want one. Afterwards he stood up straight and popped open his beer and took a swig, it was the simple things in life really that could sooth this wolf. Cold cheap beer, what could he say he was a cheap date. ”I have no idea what to do now. I guess I should go find something else to do, find some servants for this place finish the repairs then go get a job to pay for s**t….”

Luther huffs in amusement of her teasing response, always aiming to misbehave? Well hopefully she'd refrain until he sunk his mind in a bit of booze, then he might be more inclined to further protest, especially if he was having a good time. He soon breaks eye contact and dismounts himself from his horse, though unlike the female, his steed simply disperses into a plume of ash and cracking embers, the convenience of a demonic creature for a mount. Chalise's next choice of words make him pause for a moment, adjusting the brim of his hat with a small chuckle afterwards, his gaze returning to her direction just before speaking. "Y'know, from time to time.. I tend to think the same thing, sweetheart." He utters his reply, nearly agreeing with her statement, igniting yet another cigarette.

"There ain't a stable in town that I know of, not civilian ones anyway.. Most prefer to travel by automobile nowadays." Crowley answers the question through a fresh plume of tobacco smoke, the spurs on his boots chiming while he steps toward the entrance of the tavern, unsure if this woman truly intended to accompany him to the booze den or not, though if she wanted to continue being in his presence he wouldn't object, a pretty lady was always good company when drowning himself in liquid intoxicants. He opens the door slowly, keeping it open as an gentlemanly offer for her to come with, who knows, maybe he'd end up getting lucky tonight if he decided to stop being such an arrogant a** and brought out his signature country charm.

The Cowboy enters the establishment regardless if she accepted his offer, strolling past the various groups of people having a good time at their tables and plopping his bum right on a bar-stool, choosing one with an open seat next to him if the sin-eater chose to sit as well. From there he ordered a bottle of whiskey with two shot glasses, just in case his companion wanted to partake in his preferred beverage, if not than the money he placed on the counter and the nod he gave to the barkeeper would infer that he was willing to pay for anything else she desired. "Better get this outta' the way first; what brings you to this war-ridden hellhole?" Crowley inquires, filling up his glass while speaking.

For a long moment Chalice’s attention was drawn away from the cowboy, instead she looked upon her steed. She had to make sure he was doing okay after all he was her main way of transportation these days. So it wouldn’t harm her in the slightest to spare a few moments examining him for raw spots or abrasions, maybe a swollen joint. But as usual the stallion remained in good health despite the long and arduous journey they had just completed. Walking around to the left side of the horse she glanced over her shoulder when he made his coy little comment about misbehaving as well. Chalice smiled to herself and began to unstrap the animal from the saddle; of course she wasn’t going to leave her saddle on the horse that made it easier for someone to take the horse even if they wouldn’t make it far. This way Kat would not appreciate if someone just jumped on his back and tried to force him to go somewhere.
Just before she was about to take the sadle off of her pal her attention was grasped once more by the cowboy, so it appeared there were no stables here anyway. The pair had gotten used to that, with the evolution of technology and most people able to zip around from place to place it left nowhere for the horses to end up.
”I see… Well we will manage.”
Withdrawing the hefty leather saddle and blanket from the horses back she held it with relative ease, its weight all too familiar to her. She paused before walking into the building and pointed at the horse with her eyes alone.
”Same rules apply here Kat, stay out of trouble.”
The horse nickered before trotting off down the street back in the direction they came. He could be found just outside of the city by the forest, much more for a horse to do out there than in the city. Pushing the door open Chalice took a few steps and set the saddle to the side of the door, she would notice if someone tried to take it. Then she pulled off the heavy poncho showing her slim figure beneath and the large rifle hanging from a strap on her back. A short sleeved leather vest was the only thing hugging her torso while low hanging jeans with some cleverly placed holes ran down her legs.
Finally free to breath Chalice removed her hat and messed with her short hair before remembering where she was. That was right a lovely place to get a drink, spying the Cowboy with a free seat and what looked like a spare drink she found her way over. Boots making soft thuds against the hard floor as she walked along, the brown haired woman took the seat beside him and leaned forward with her hands between her thighs on the bar stool and eyed the drink before her. This caused the short vest to rise and show the tattoo of wings rising from the back of her pants, that was right Chalice bore a tramp stamp and proudly.
”Whiskey, Mmm… my favorite.”
With a coy smile she took the tumbler that was in front of her and enjoyed the fire water as it passed over her tongue and down her throat. Filling her belly with a bit of warmth, though she was over heating at the moment from the wool poncho she had been wearing.
The small talk came a little quicker than she had expected it would, but then again he didn’t seem the type to beat around the bush.
”The war… Mostly anyway.”
It was plain and simple; Sin Eaters went were there was the most sin, war held a lot of sin on people. So her lips curved up into a smile for a moment before she looked to him.
”You seem misplaced from the locals, what brings a Good Old Boy like yourself to a war torn country? Also pretty cute trick you pulled with your horse.”
Why ask a direct question when he was likely to tell her what he could be just by a simple side comment? If necessary she would press harder but that was no fun.

A gal drinking whiskey?

Luther watches the woman take down the amber intoxicant with a look of surprise, he seemed to have found him a 'rough-and-tough' kinda chick, a change to the usual posh types that would approach him at the bar. Fragile girls seeking a rugged and wild partner to fill the emptiness in their lives, wanting someone to tame with modern lifestyles and some stupid one bedroom apartment in the city.. It almost made him shudder at the thought. "Plenty of folks coming here to make their living off of the conflict lately.. Y'see I was around before all of this war bullshit." He utters, ingesting his shot before filling yet another and taking that down right after, exhaling the warmth with a cloud of earthy smelling smoke. The Cowboy would snicker at her referring him to a 'Good Ol' Boy', then take a moment to think of just how he would answer her own question and the compliment with his horse.

Crowley drags on his cigarette, huffing in amusement just before he'd speak. . "Eh, the usual Good Ol' Boy way of life is what I'm aiming for.. Work till my debts are paid, get enough money for a nice piece of land, find myself a harlot and try to turn her into a housewife. Get out of this unpredictable lifestyle, try n' act normal." He pretty much lists his intentions for being here clearly, having no reason to lie over something so foolish, now he'd address the subject of his interesting horse. "Oh, and Lucy? She only likes going out for a run, if I tie her up anywhere than she gets cocky." The cowboy brushes the act off as if it were nothing, seeing as his demonic steed was something he was used to, even if it astonished others, he thought nothing of it.

It hadn’t gone unnoticed by Chalise when she had pulled down the shot without even the slightest face that he had been watching, and not just watching there was a hint of surprise in those green orbs.
”Never seen a girl take a shot before?”
The brown haired woman teased before having another and quickly slinging it down, that was the fun thing about alcohol the faster you could put it away the faster it was likely to have an effect. Granted the effect on her was not the same as it would be on others but still she could enjoy the loose and comfortable feeling she got when drinking. Much to Chalises surprise now, he had been her before the war which obviously had him slightly disgruntled. With a slight shrug of her slender shoulders she licked her lips while running a finger around the rim of her shot glass.
”I take it… you are not a profiteer in this war? Lots of money to be made in war. The winner does keep the stolen goods and gets to re-draw the maps.”
He may not like it but he should look into that aspect if he was in fact trying to pay off those debts he spoke of. Which, by the way, was rather entertaining to hear and her smile was evident of the humor she found in his candid explanation of what he was doing here in Wintersrowe. Yet her eyes continued to drift towards the cherry tip of his cigarette with every draw he took in, nothing worse than watching someone doing something you wanted to do.
”Sounds like a pretty nice dream but I do have to tell you normal is what you make it, just so you know. So going out and firing your gun at bandits… I think that is normal.”
Leaning forward she just couldn’t help herself anymore.
”Care to share a drag?”
Chalise couldn’t help herself when she was in this mood, as much as she could do in this small window before she came back to her senses. Drinking, smoking… and so much more. But she had learned it was best to start off small. Still there was the matter of his horse and the nature of what he was; which he had managed to brush off just as easily as she had asked it. Cute. Motioning for another shot to the bar tender she also motioned for his to be filled as well.
”We are keeping even right?”
A challenge of sorts, though she did wonder if they could keep up with one another. For all she knew it would go one way or the other.
”So I see you like guns… tell me about yours.”
Lightly she motioned to the fire arm in its holster at his side then looked up to his eyes to see what they would say.

User Image Soriath stopped walking and looked around the city. "Eh? Where the hell are we?" She asked herself, having snapped out of her trance. She didn't remember ever having been to this part of the city before. "Hmm..so we are lost, eh? Seems like it. Can't retrace our steps if we don't know where we came from. Can't smell Bane, too far away even with his stinky self. Hehehehe." She noticed she was near a large building that stood out from the rest. It seemed fancy, important even. It was ugly and she didn't like it. "This building will be the first thing Vogzigor destroys." She muttered. Soriath's eyes then fell on quite a sight. It looked like a knight, and for some reason that just didn't seem right. "Hehe..our brain rhymed." she giggled.

Soriath began to approach the metal figure, seeing the light reflect off of him. Her own armor reflected no such light, for hers was dark and blessed by the Great Old Ones. "He's got light inside him too. In and out and all around." As she came closer to the armored man she grinned widely and called, "Hello! We have noticed that you also wear the armor."

The market was moderately sized, and full of vendors despite the chill in the air and the snow which fell thickly. Kathryn found a stall which sold herbs, some of which she could use to make salves and remedies. She bought a few bundles and thanked the stall owner, who honestly seemed to ignore Kathryn the second she'd parted with her money.
Kathryn was beginning to learn that just because a person spoke to her did not mean that they wanted to be her friend, or even that they had her interests at heart.

Though the elves had mostly disliked Kathryn, they had always been upfront about it. These people, were not forward about their opinions toward her at all. She began to wonder how she would ever know who to trust.

Kathryn bought an apple from a fruit stall, and found a quite corner of the market. She leaned against a brick wall, her body still tired from healing. She felt as if that whole experience had taken hours, but looking at the sky, it appeared to only be late morning.
Looking up, Kathryn realized that there was a castle, floating, above the city. She stood staring at the castle for some time. What was happening in this place?

OOC:

She listened to her friend's explanation and took a bigger bite of the fruit. It's juices hit her tongue. While it wasn't the greatest taste in the world to her, she did enjoy it. Clover also did not want to offend her new friend. Another bite was taken and she looked it over. Back where she was from, they did not have fruits such as these. She would never admit that because this was the whole point of adventure, but the noise was getting to her. "Is she in need of assistance? she asked Spirit with concern for her possible new friend.
