So I'm talking to a guy over the Internet and he tells me that holding hands when you first met is normal and that "his exes" agree. Just wondering how many would say this. While I'm far from a dating or event a socially acceptable expert, I find that statement bs. What about you?

Tl;dr:
•you find holding someone's hand when you first meet normal? ( not dating yet)
•if not, when is it okay to start holding hands? Why?

I don't hold hands with anyone, even after years. I dislike it. That's what's normal for me. Others might do it fairly quickly. That's normal for them. If you don't want to do it, just don't do it, and don't let him make you do it.

Holding hands, with anyone, is only reserved for the people that I hold most dear. It does not matter who.

Now, new guy who wants to date all they will get is a shake of hand..or a hug depending on the mood..

It's normal if feelings are evolving. I've held hands with guys i wasn't in a relationship with yet. One guy just thought my hands were insanely soft and liked to hold them all the time.

It's extremely rare to hold hands with someone you don't have a relationship with.

It's weird when you think about it, given that some people will sleep with people they only just met.
