The booming of dragon and human voices alike ring in welcome throughout the streets of the Seeker's District. Women and men of various ages and walks of life stand before the Royal Family's own Seeker Guard, dressed in full regalia for this occasion. A surge of newcomers have arrived, the new human-dragon pairs now entering the training to become the fierce scaled protectors of Arclight and her people. It is an honor, a privilege, to be bonded with one of the great dragons and to serve the royal family for the rest of their life.


The Citystate of Arclight. Nested between the Kyh Sea and the Glinting Mountains, the high white towers of the city are protected by well kept walls and the fierce military that are ever vigilant. Under the rule of the royal family who the city bears the name of, Arclight and her people enjoy unparalleled safety.


The main source of this protection comes from the respected Seekers - humans whose very souls are bound from birth to a dragon. When a Seeker is found by the Royal Guard and presented their egg, they are honored with the permanent drafting into the elite Seeker Guard. It does not matter where a Seeker may have been born or what path of life they previously walked, they begin anew as the dedicated protectors of Arclight.

✥Bio: Elaine grew up with her nose in a book. Her parents were wealthy money-lenders and their life was always comfortable. She grew up in a lovely brick townhouse just a streets over from the market place. She loves reading, she would finish a book in two days or less and go back to the market to search for her next novel. Elaine loves reading mystery novels and collections of bard's tales about heroes such as Odysseus and Beowulf. She knows so many by heart and could recite them herself any moment she was asked without hesitation. She could entertain the young children on her street for hours, standing up on an up-turned milk crate, with the vibrant and sometimes dark scenes she would pain in their imaginations.
Elaine was found by a Seeker not too long ago - when she was 15 - and brought to the Keeper's District where she met her lovely dragon companion; Luxe. She was rather shocked when she first found out that her partner was a shadow dragon but, with time, she came to enjoy this unique detail. Currently, Elaine spends her time at the training house, and enjoys her free time at the coffee house curled up by the fire with a good book when she gets the chance.

✥Bio:Thomas was a poor farmer's son until the Seekers found him at the age of 14. From then, he trained hard. He made the very best of his new life, and became a respected member of the Seeker Guard. He's been doing this for so long he can't imagine what life would be like without his dragon Kokka by his side.

✥Appearance: A gruff man with light brown hair combed back behind his ears. His square jawline and hard eyebrows make him look rather mean, but he's a sweety once you get to know him. His hazel eyes are barely visible under his heavy eyelids, and you wouldn't see them anyways at his height - a towering 6' 10". He proudly wears the buffed iron armor of the Royal Guard whenever he goes out. Around his home he prefers a cotton t-shirt and dirty canvas pants - just what he used to wear on the farm as a boy.

✥Bio: A veteran flyer that is not above creating violent winds to teach her students a lesson. Holds a sharp tongue and subscribes to 'tough love' when it comes to caring for 'the children', as she refers to Seekers as. She takes her lessons seriously and does not entertain foolishness or rough housing, giving a verbal lashing instead of risking injury or death.
✥Weapon: Crossbow (wind enchanted - bolts ignore wind turbulence)
✥Appearance: 5'4", wiry, with a constant straight and prim posture. Blonde hair that is kept long but tightly braided and usually in a bun; does not have a fringe, letting her hawkish light brown eyes see unheeded. Prefers light and tight clothing and armor, never seems to feel the cold despite wearing little.

✥Bio:
An outgoing Seeker who revels in the fire his dragon is attuned to. While getting along in his years, he still retains a boisterous and playful manner, teaching Seekers how to juggle fire for party tricks. An unmissable presence throughout the Seeker District, constantly running a class or overseeing those trying to enchant their equipment.
✥Weapon: Great Sword (fire enchanted - can be set alight)
✥Appearance: 5'9", stocky and covered in assorted burns and scars. His dark brown hair and beard are well trimmed, with blue eyes sitting beneath eyebrows that have been singed off quite a few times. Rarely seen without of some form of armor or protection, even if it's just a blacksmith's apron.

Rules:

1.) Follow Gaia TOS, don't be a loser
2.) You should know the roleplay rules by now. If not, read up here.
3.) Me (Shiki) and Peekay Love are GM's. We say it. It is law. You do it.
4.) If you are caught rolling die with higher numbers than your level you will get one warning, followed by a ban from the roleplay for repeat offenders.
5.) Your dragon's element is the number you roll. Period.

8.) Your characters cannot summon their own magic; they are only able to draw from their dragon's magic. Therefore, you may only have weapons imbued with magic - no fire slingers or water benders, guys. :p




Notes from the GM's:
1.) We may or may not turn this idea into a full blown guild should enough people show interest. Shiki's thinking any more after 6 and we'll get a guild up.
2.) Romance and building relationships between characters is encouraged.
3.) We plan on making this thing last long-term, so if you don't plan on sticking around, gtfo.




Peekay's Notes:
Dragons

There are three constants between all Seekers and their dragon
1. every dragon has one elemental affinity, though the human retains their ability to manipulate all elements
2. while they posses great magic, dragons can not change the shape of themselves or others
3. when one half of the bond dies for any reason, the other too shall perish

Magic

All Seekers must remember: light does not equal good, dark does not equal evil. What matters is that you continue your duty to protect Arclight and carry out the wishes of the royal family.

Seekers are able to draw the elemental magic from their dragon but are still encouraged to keep other enchanted items on their personage. You will be taught on how to imbue your weapons and armor with the magic of your dragon, with all Seekers being provided one high quality weapon to enchant. All further equipment must be earned and proven you are worthy of such boons.
