I would really like one. Please, anything but a stupid gold sink. Something that you don't gain any money on considering you know people will buy your gold generators to complete the current "event."

As noted by Jean Noh:

What's ridiculous is despite the jack o'lantern, the kickstart has NOTHING to do with Halloween in terms of an "event." They even manage to rub it in by having one of the tiers mention more tax evasion (referring to the terrible previous kickstart). I don't know how they manage to be more and more insulting, but they do it!

Edit: oh, how convenient that there was an earlier announcement about GGs going on sale. Also, a recent update removed achievements from the top bar, but granting achievement points/titles is included in the rewards. I see more than one person say they donate for the achievements, so making visible achievements an option would make better sense.

Really everyone, take a good, long read of this latest event and try to figure out how a time machine and taxes have anything to do with Halloween - instead of a jack o'lantern link, they could have used Mr. Bibbles, Ian, a big stack of past due paperwork and a clock, something that was time-travel related. It makes no sense!

Yeah I was hoping for Halloween related stuff but I guess that's not want pumpkins stand for anymore. :/ Oh well, I got the bookworm achievement so meh but I agree with OP, let's have an event not about goldsinks and more about the community yes?

I hope we have a community filled event for Halloween at least.

I agree, OP. Especially considering that the kickstart has not a single Halloween vibe to it and that these gold sink events are getting excessive.

Edit: I just saw a post from a staff member saying that this isn't the Halloween event...then why have a pumpkin lead to the splash page? But still...tired of goldsinks.

not possible anymore... they must make money from us for almost every new thing that comes out now, even it is costs us ridiculous amounts of gold (comparative to pre-inflation prices... I'm looking at you gold shop price increases ninja )

They've been using the kickstarter to determine user interest as well. I think the event will push through, but it wouldn't have as many things happening in it if none of the global tiers are achieved. However, with Gaia's track record of hits and misses, I wonder if the community is ready to have, perhaps, the most lackluster event in recent history and send Gaia the message that their tactics are unacceptable and the users are ready to sacrifice many things to get their point across. We'll see what happens now. The ball's on the community's court.

While I like the ball idea -- I would like to say that I was hoping for more Hallowen esque things, you feel my vibe, right? It's only October 6th but wouldn't you like to see what they did in previous years?

I know I am coming off as bitching but Gaia is making all of this money -- SO MUCH MONEY -- you'd think they would hire some graphic artist [to work with events] with all of the ******** dough they have stripped from us.

All of the storylines are jumbled up now. None of it makes sense, honestly.

I just see Gaia as a place that sucks you of your money while you're spending large heaps of money on something that will never benefit you IRL.

You'd think.

People spend money on putting Gold into that stuff. I feel so bad for them because they are being double-dipped, and what's worse is that these traps and "events" do go hand-in-hand.

It makes me want to participate in events even less.

I consider myself a poor user, but I can only imagine how left out even poorer users with only <10 mill to their name are feeling!
Not to mention there are much better ways to determine if the userbase likes something other than putting it's fate in the hands of just the users with billions of gold to throw away because they have nothing else they would like to do with it.

Chiming in to say that this new "event" is stupid too like

really a kickstarter for a thing that i dont even really care about? i miss the old events. at any rate, im going to ignore all these gold sink events. maybe if enough of us dont do them, theyll get the message.
