Hi guys! So, I'm the Captain of the NSTG and, if you should quote me, I'm happy to answer your questions and respond to your comments. Here are a few things to keep in mind about the Tri-Town Showdown:
- It's a user-run event, which means that it's put together by people like you, with personal lives, jobs, schoolwork, and outside commitments. We are definitely doing our best and want this event to kick a**.
We did not determine the tiers or the items associated with them.
We chose Barton as a neutral ground because Gaia's Guilds are in Barton Town, as you can see on the World Map. The plot of the event, as explained in the mini-comic below (by Daypaw), involves the representatives of each Town inside our guild determining which Town reigns supreme inside our guild.
You do have to register for a Team via RNG to participate. In past summer events of ours, where we've permitted people to choose teams, one team always winds up winning by a landslide because people side with the winning team towards the middle of the event, and we don't want that to happen. Furthermore, since this is a point-based event, if you participate in something and earn points, those points have to go somewhere.
If you don't identify with your designated team, or you're Team Barton, that's fine. You could simply register and take part in the event's festivities as yourself, paying no mind to your Team's thread.
If you don't feel comfortable donating to the Kickstarter, we totally understand. Send your love over to the NSTG Treasurer. emotion_bigheart

Please don't feel disheartened! I'd LOVE to have you on my team Aekea! Go ahead and do the registration RNG, and if you don't get a 1 on your random number to immediately go into Aekea, go to the "Not Happy With Your Team" sticky and ask for a transfer. In any case, I hope you have fun! biggrin
