depends on the day actually. sometimes i get 0 and then other days i get like 50 in an instant.

its more of a hassle having to answer them all because gaia doesn't allow you to send more than 1 pm in like a certain amount of time or something so it gets annoying having to wait

o_o Does it not seem like I do? I do, unless you're close to me and I actually talk to you a lot, I wouldn't reply to a PM. I'd literally just go to my inbox so the bubble will disappear. If I am bored I'd read it, if it interests me I'd reply. I rather get comments, my PMs are for more...personal one on one deep life talking conversations that should remain secret kind of thing.
