I wasn't too impressed with the Christmas special and the show of late, but still gonna give this new series a shot because I'm excited to see Peter Capaldi as The Doctor.

Capaldi and... whatsherface, the companion, are in the middle of a world tour. The world tour is a showing of the episode, followed up by a live QA with those two

Yeah, I've been watching the show since about 1983 and thus am familiar with such traditions. I'm also reminded of the bit from Fiddler on the Roof where they're talking about traditions, and some of them just need to go by the wayside.
