tab ✖ Gabriel blinked in surprise at the angel's words and then let out a soft laugh. "Dear child, I understand how you feel. Every breath I take is in service of our Lord, but I am happy to do so. He has given me strength when I needed it most and has always been there when I needed Him." He said, "But I must say that while we are blessed with free will, we are weak without guidance. For you there will always be that, but I suppose man is meant to overcome hardships, for that is what makes us so special." A smile spread over his face, though it wasn't entirely a happy smile. Still, he did not dwell.
tab ✖ As for the following matter, Gabriel shook his head. "I don't think changing genders matters too much. Why? Because a gender isn't what makes one feel comfortable or compatible. The most important way to connect with mankind is to be understanding and listen. These days, we are all too busy trying to talk over each other and no one wants to take a moment to listen or try to connect. To do these things will gain great favor with anyone. That is the secret." He gave a small sigh and then looked out across the courtyard.
tab ✖ Then something embarrassing occurred. Amongst that moment of quiet, a low growl escaped the priest's stomach. A nervous chuckle escaped the man before he looked to the other. "Ah, it seems I've forgotten to eat this morning." He moved to stand, a hand on his abdomen in hopes of keeping it calm and silent. "Perhaps you'll accompany me to the cafeteria?" Hopefully the angel would not mind, but the priest wasn't going to force the other to join him if he did not wish. Besides, they had all year to converse as well, though he had to admit that having the angel as a student was exciting.
