My view? Just no. If I ever feel threatened and fear for my life, I'm getting the ******** out of it.
They're never right. No one deserves to be abused and abusers have no right to treat another person like that.
Abusive relationships only end in one of two ways:
1) the abused comes to their senses and leaves
2) the abused leaves in a body bag.

Ways to prevent abuse, IMO, is to keep an eye out for any red flags or overly aggressive/possessive behavior. Get educated about the signs of abuse and either try to talk it out with the abuser to try and fix the situation, or just break up, get some therapy and move on.

1 if someone can get help and change good, if not ******** them. depends on the severity and reason for why they are the way they are. which is most likely bad parenting or trauma imo.

they are fine till they impose harm

therapy, good parenting, being independent, and just leaving if nothing can be changed, staying in an abusive relationship tells the world "abuse is ok" and if you do you are part of the problem as feminist cunts would say.

From the outside looking in, I think it is easy to say that the abused should just walk away. But after being in an abusive relationship for five years, I can honestly say its harder to leave than you would think. You feel guilty, like its your fault youre being treated poorly, if you could be better than your SO will be better too... You feel bad for wanting to leave, and therefore you keep trying to hold on and fix everything. I can honestly say I do not and did not actually love my ex who was abusive... I felt bad for him and wanted to help him live a happier life...

No, they are not right. And people stuck in them need help to get out.

They cant unfortunately.

They suck horrible, I was in an verbal abusive relationship and it made me feel like s**t, so I got out of there before anything else bad happened.

No one is right when it comes to beating your partner , Im not saying its always the female being beaten , guys get beaten too. So either way its bad.

How do you feel they can be stopped or prevented?

It's up to the victim to stop the abuse and leave their spouse, but sadly that usually never happens, escpically if they have kids and no where else to go, you can lead a horse to water but they force them to drink, meaning you give them as much as you can but its them who needs to do it.

The thing I like most about this thread is how weirdly casual it tries to be.

Clearly uncomfortable subject matter.
The weird, almost peppy forced casualness only makes this particular discussion even more awkward.

The victim needs a someone to talk to. If they cant get out by themselves for whatever reason, the friend should help them. In some/most cases, the cops can also help
