Do people on GTS realize you can't trade certain special pokemon?
Not to mention some people putting up average pokemon and asking for Arceus or Diancie. stare

Ah yes. Trolls and high-ballers have existed with us ever since gen 4. ...Rather made the online trading scene kinda- well, dumb me not worth it since there's no limitations on what you can ask for. And frankly, I don't think this stuff will ever blow over.

...Oh well, time to stop bitching and move on. How's that sound? All in favor? Hm?

I've never understood that. I understand it's trolling, but it's pretty bad trolling. I don't even really care about it anymore. The GTS can be ok for Vivillon trading.

That's why I just toss my spare IV bred Eevees on there and ask for whatever I need in return. That's a very fast way to get pretty much anything besides event legends.

I never bother to actually LOOK for anything anymore since people put up Ekans for a lvl 1 Ditto and s**t like that xd

I never really tried GTS in gen 4-5.
I kind just went from emerald and skipped to X and Y. xD

We all have to keep a few things in mind;

1. Most little kids don't get the value of pokemon. They want the legends because they are legends.

2. In other regions, different events devalue pokemon. So its possible they see one legend as an average eevee.

3. The GTS is also used to CLONE pokemon. Some of these pokemon on there may be there for that purpose.

How does that help exactly?

If you click it, then the button "don't include" it removes from your search results any pokemon that can't be traded for. Although it may also remove some legends that can be traded for.

ex. say I'm looking for vivillon. with that button, it won't include in my results people asking for diancie, genesect, etc. ones that can't actually be traded on the gts. I think it also omits lugia, kyogre, etc as well though.

CI completely miss read that option!!
I thought if I selected a vivillon and select levels and gender, it will look for vivillon that won't have those characteristics.
Holy Moly, I need to pay attention!

the selecting of level and gender already eliminate any others...

but that bottom left button is easy to miss.

the button after the search begins is also easy to miss (the one that can filter by region).

so a certain amount of exploration is needed.
