Just make sure you get a job that has room for a social life.
I have overtime this week so... 11 hour days, Monday thru Friday, with only leniency on Thursday...
gonk
And I wasted what little time I have before I should sleep by passing out in front of my computer.

For a while I was thinking about getting a second job... then I realized I'd have to give up all my social time to do it. Plus my weekends (which I need to decompress and recover especially since I lose my Saturdays every once in a while when we have project due and we are behind)
Yeah, I have no idea how anyone can manage two jobs. I can barely survive one...
sweatdrop
And it's not just that my current job is stupidly hard (due in no small part to the previous guy being really, really awful at his job
emotion_eyebrow ). Even when I was working less-than-full-time as a sales associate, it was incredibly draining...
Maybe if I still enjoyed my job I could get away with losing half my nights and one day of the weekend. But this s**t sucks.
Go to work for weeks with hardly anything to do... Gotta look busy... listen to my stupid supervisor spend an hour explaining something that should only take 5 minutes....
Then have to shovel a months worth of work into a week because my cousin doesn't do his job till the week before it's due and even then he's still make changes as we are trying to get everything finished. D:
I feel like projects need more than just a deadline. They need a "point of no return" past which the design cannot be modified.
I'm having a similar issue at my job. I agreed (read: was coerced into) helping an intern with a project, and he's ignored my advice pretty much every step of the way, including "completely changing the core design one week before your deadline is a really, really bad idea".
