Before he could even react to Jack's snide comments, Sukey stepped in to shut him up. Jeremy couldn't help himself a smile. She was really being there for him on this. How'd he be able to repay the favor, Jeremy wasn't yet certain. But surely there would be something he'd be able to help her out with. Jack, along with others, had always been an a*****e to him. Took whatever spare time he had to put Jeremy down a bit. There wasn't ever much he could really do to stop it or shut him up aside from just ignoring him and moving on with whatever he was doing, or just moving away from him altogether. It seemed like things may just be different with Sukey around.
"Oh... uh, my family isn't too big on vacations and... well... yeah." He gave her a half shrug. According to his parents, he was to be focused on his work, not on silly stuff like that. His parents would go out sometimes, though not often with Jeremy. He was usually left to his work or tutoring, as they have come to believe. Really, he'd be playing computer games or going to some party or friend gathering on the down low. Or legitimately tutoring someone, as the case was with Shepley. "Plus I'm... I'm usually... working with my, uh, my computer. Inside... and stuff... Replacing parts of it and, what not..." That part was actually true. He spent the vast majority of his time on that thing, be it via working on videos, playing video games with friends, or modifying it himself. The vast majority of his laptop was custom. He took the whole thing apart and reassembled it to his liking. His beloved monster, Bernadette, was his child. And he was her Victor Frankenstein. She ran his games smoothly and with minimal problems, specs as if she were a desktop. Strong and powerful and all his own. Ultimately, one of his greatest works of tech prowess, and one he was most proud of. Not everyone appreciated that kind of stuff though; it was really just his circle of friends that saw the effort and work he put into his computer and other electronics. Marina probably didn't want to hear that kind of nonsense though. Most people outside of his friend group didn't. "So... yeah. Not a, uh... Not a lot of time for the... the beach." Not in the slightest. "But-- But reading on the beach sounds... sounds nice." He smiled a bit, hoping it would make up for his vague, miniature ramble just prior. His feet still tapped against the ground, though it picked up to a slightly faster pace as he stopped talking. Jeremy sunk back a bit into his seat, letting out a small yawn. Damn, was it early.
