because iv been on gaia for 5 years now i went to the army came back and what used to be 2000 people in towns at a time is now less than 100 gaias not poor but they make money from ads so long as there players there money

Actually users voted on the name. Gaia, many years back, did a survey about a site name. No one really knew about the plans for the site name but it was voted on and won. (If anyone can link to said survey that would be great!)

I don't mean to be one of "those" people but i've had an account on here for a tad longer and I've noticed an increase of users. Just because they are not visiting towns doesn't mean they aren't around. Towns can be a great feature but when you have newer games and towns 2 along with other meeting spaces people will get split between all these features.

As for only ad revenue gaia i'm sure has learned that a vast majority of its users have access to adblock and probably take advantage of it so they've turned to the cash shop and I don't know about you but all the announcements telling people to buy things for sometimes 40+ dollars is irritating even if they are poor. Notice how quickly the limited items sell out...meaning they're selling them and making money along with all of the money they make from backwings and RIGs.

You do know that Gaia needs people to buy Gaia Cash in order to keep up and running right? If people stopped buying Gaia Cash Gaia Online would end up shutting down.

And while I hate Facebook (the only reason I still have it is to talk to family because they can't have our numbers or know where we live for safety reasons) I won't be sharing anything from Gaia on Facebook. And people seem to have forgotten that Gaia has done this before. We used to be able to share our avatars on Facebook. So this isn't really all that new.

Now it would be nice if Gaia gave us a way to opt out of having our posts and what not shared on Facebook but if they don't just don't click on the share link. Eventually we'll all get used to it and won't really notice that it's there anymore.

GC keeps the site running, both the good and bad parts. You don't get to dictate and insult people for what they choose to do with their own money. If I want to buy a monthly collectible or the birthstone bangs or anything else, what business is it of yours?

Also, I have no idea where you're getting the "You can't quote admins anymore!" thing because this is literally the first I've ever heard of it. Do you have a source for it?
