Dangerous Millionaire

I joined Gaia many years go! It was back in 2006!
At that time once you reached to around 400k and up you seen many items
that were nice, rich like and only for those who were committed to earning.
You got many nice items depending if you were hard working or very good at negotiations.
Once I reached to my 1st million in 2007, I realized that it was really easy so I end up earning to 5million and I was slow at making that much gold because I had things to do in rl so I quit gaia with only 5million, i quit temporarily. Once I returned I noticed something Ive never seen before. I returned not to long ago, I was already worth over 700million gold!

I noticed it wasn't really my doing but the error on the marketplace! The prices grew!
So I'm not really worth 700million but 5million still, it's just been changed to make it seem that way!

I noticed something when I went to go buy things today.
I was confused on what items I should buy because when I always bought stuff, I just searched things that was 1million and up, now I see everything has been scattered to different prices!
Looks like 1million isnt worth anything anymore, nor is 3million!
All the items I found was not in any of my likings, they were once items that was 100k or 200k!

I know you maybe thinking, well search up things that are higher than 3million than!
We only made the prices higher thats all!

I dont know what the excuse is, however I dont know what good excuse could there be to raise prices higher.

It confuses me and odds are when other member re-join gaia, they are going to see this and they will like it until they found out, "Oh im not actually rich, the prices just gone up."
Then who knows if she/he will like what happened

My opinion: I dont like it one bit, and its not because, I just don't like it and thats it.
No i dont like it because its an illusion to think you are rich, than find out you're not, its just the silly prices

My suggestion: lower prices down to the way it was (no its not that simple) but there has to be a way

I maybe ignorant to what has happened and why, and If I am, if there's a reason to what has happened, dont attack me with your words for no reason (seriously I dont need hateful comments), just clarify the situation

Basically 41 gold generators were released by Gaiaonline. It's not a glitch and the gold cap was raised. But yes you have a very sensible viewpoint of the situation. Just because items are worth more doesn't mean we are richer. So pretty much Gaia's fake currency is being sold for cash now. It's like Gaia is selling monopoly board game money. Why I stopped bothering with marketplace and just use gold shops now. It's made me a lot happier not worrying about inflation. I guess you had to come back from hiatus too to see the shock. I just came back in December myself after a six month hiatus. So welcome back to Gaia. Don't worry about marketplace. It's just one part of the site and not worth the stress. There are still plenty other parts of Gaia to enjoy.

New management made lots of staff and marketing changes.
Those marketing changes have ultimately crippled the Market Place.
Gaia Cash started being prioritized.
The Cash Shop started releasing what are called Gold Generators. Gold generators
are items purchased in the Cash Shop, they generate random [extremely high] amounts
of gold.. for cash. People started scarfing them up, becoming millionaires and now
billionaires [trillionaires, yet? Who the ******** knows] by paying real life money for online
currency. Since so many people were becoming billionaires and hitting the gold cap limit
on their accounts, Gaia decided to raise the gold cap. Now, thousands of users who are
buying these gold generators [there are 41 now and they are released/rereleased/on sale
every single day in the cash shop]. Since people suddenly had such high amounts of gold,
people started to negatively manipulate the market place and drastically inflate items to sell,
causing such a horrible bout of inflation that it's now close to irreparable. Hundreds, if not
thousands, of people selling on the marketplace/exchange are overpricing items and setting ridiculously high prices on new CS items; some are even buying up all of the listings with low prices and reselling them for multiple times their average buy price and/or worth. That's scamming, but we no longer have a staff that knows what's up with the community, pays attention or listens to us, or cares at least. The staff members no longer intermingle with the community. All features of the site that do not produce monetary income for the site/company are neglected, given up on, and abandoned. The staff has stated that they will not be investing time into anything that does not bring in money. There are constant flash sales, discounts, and re-releases of items every day. Basically, the site has become completely and utterly cash driven, and Gaia set it up to where the economy would get wrecked to shambles and people would literally be forced to purchase Gaia Cash if they want to keep up with the prices in the Market Place. Also, they've recently launched an 18+
sister site known as Tentacl [yeah, they really named it that. That's a thing. Seriously.] that
is an adult only site much like a blogging site.. only, with a lot of porn. There's been a lot
of educated and observant speculation about Gaia's behavior/treatment of the community.
Most think that they constant cash pushes and money grabbing has been to fund and
launch the sister site, even though it's low quality and in extremely poor taste.

It's not an "error" in the market place, it's an error on Gaia's mentality and
strategies. They're running themselves into the ground, pushing away potential
new community members, paying customers [they've lost hundreds, if not a
couple of thousand by now], and loyal community members while simultaneously
giving us the middle finger. No, that is indeed no error, trust me it's real. Those are
the actual prices of things now. Drastically inflated of course, but prices nonetheless.
And Gaia refuses to fix it, rather, they continue to make it worse every single day, on
purpose. I will never monetarily support a company who behaves this way and blatantly treats their "customers"/community members like cash cows.
