Bio: Kariss was 10 and was born in New York City with her dad and a lazy mother. One day she demanded Karissa to bring something or she will be punished, she stood up to her mother and called her lazy and disgusting. She defended her father whenever the mother acts against him. Karissa built up the courage to hit the woman in the nose and sent her flying to the wall knocked out. Her dad told her the truth of her abilities and said that he met a woman so beautiful that they both fell in love and had a baby girl together, but Aphrodite had to leave and couldn't spend time with Karissa in the human world. Karissa just couldn't believe that her mother would leave her like this, so she decided to run away to the forest they call half blood camp to seek the answers to her questions. There she bumped into three children, one of them were Megan and they became friends, suddenly two giant cyclops came at the four of them and they ran for their lives. One of the children got their leg crushed by a tree and Megan stayed to delay the cyclops so that they could get away, but she died. Before she could die Zeus gave her a gift to defend the camp from the mythical creatures and that was the day Karissa will never forget.

Bio: I'm not going to type three paragraphs about how messed up her childhood was. Instead I'm going to sit here and give you a summery. Basically, Kiara was abused by her step dad. Not sexually, just physically and mentally. Her mother always tried to direct his attention towards her instead of Kiara but it never worked. One day, Kiara just snapped and accidentally encased her step dad in a water bubble. Of course when he was let out, he called her mother a whore and went to the police. Naturally they didn't believe him and smelled alcohol on his breath and threw his a** in jail. That was the perfect time for her mother to pack up and move, well take Kiara to camp halfblood. On the way there, she explained to Kiara who her father really was and so on and so on. Once her mother dropped her off, she promised to keep in contact with her and she never saw her mom again. Kiara was 15 at the time and although she can't see her mom, they do talk every month.

She grew up a hoodlum, stealing for fun and hanging out with the wrong crowd of kids, and her mother thought it was because of her being a demigod that she was so rebellious, when in reality it was because she was just angry. She was led to believe she was ugly by the guys she hung out with, which was true way back when, but it severely damaged Gabriella's self-esteem. She worked hard to become beautiful in other people's eyes, just so she could be beautiful in her own. None of that mattered when she was tracked down and attacked in Brazil.
