I think it's because a lot of people on the forum seem to belittle poor fishing shinies :c Which is sad because I love mine...

Wait, what? ...Why?!

Before, all anyone could do was BAWW about how PokeRadar couldn't be used for Pokes in water, and now that GF gave them a way to get Shiny aquatic Mon, they're condescending toward them for 'not being as good' somehow...?

Yup. No one will ever be completely satisfied around here. -_-'' People trading shinies are even putting, "NO FISHING SHINIES!" in some of the threads... It's saddening. :c

Chained shinies (as opposed to bred shinies) don't come with multiple capped IVs. For such people, it's not enough to have a shiny so much as a "viable" shiny.

My lamest shiny is a Durant. There's also the Octillery when I was trying to chain for Corsola.

I don't know why people are making a big deal on how shinies are obtained in these games. I have not encountered a single shiny in X or Y, and I would not care how I obtained it, whether through fishing, breeding, or chance encounters. I am trying to breed a shiny with no luck so far.

I'd love them... I have five shinies, but not one of them are from fish chaining. I haven't been successful with fish chaining at all. OTL I think my highest chain was 57, but I accidentally derped and didn't reel in. gonk How many chains until you usually get a shiny?
