When Jack's alarm went off, he promptly woke up and stretched; he was so tall that his legs and arms hung right over the arm rests as he did so. Then he stood and stretched his arms over his head before scooping up his phone and heading to the window. The ice-wielder jumped out, closing the window behind him, before heading in the direction of Maeva's shop so that he could pick up Celia for lunch. While the Voodoo Witch and her shop still gave Jack the heebie-jeebies, he'd promised to take his girlfriend out to lunch and he wasn't about to bail on her; besides, it was probably a good thing for Celia to get out of the shop for a few hours too... The thief swooped over the city, catching sight of all the important stuff. Sheera Noctesilvis, aka Nox, sitting on a rooftop, the heroes Lux and Jaeger dealing with a kidnapping situation, and the usual hustle and bustle of London. Even with all of the crime and the super villains who would destroy city blocks every time they showed up, life still went on. As Jack no longer considered himself to be anything close to human - humans couldn't freeze to death and come back to life and function twice as well as they had prior to dying - he found humans to be very fascinating... When he wasn't too busy stealing from them. He took the time to do a little pick-pocketing on his way to the Voodoo Queen's shop, as he was just a little early, and by the time he made it to the shop, he had managed to pick up over a hundred dollars in cash, a couple of expensive necklaces, and some expensive leather wallets that would fetch a pretty nice price. Once at the shop, he landed on a rooftop across from it and stared at the front door. He had no intention of going inside. Maeva had tried to kill him back in LA and had a pretty... Disturbing relationship with Sid, who still hadn't been seen in a while. But that psycho, while not completely brushed from Jack's thoughts, was not what he wanted to think about at this moment. Instead, his thoughts were on how to get Celia to come outside without having to enter that shop... Well, the best way was to make it start snowing outside the window. It wasn't due to start snowing in London for another couple of weeks, so it was sure to catch her attention; Celia always seemed to notice when he made it snow.
It started with just a few perfect flakes spiraling down onto the pavement, which caught the attention of passersby and he noticed Celia glance out the front window of the shop. He had her attention at least. Jack smiled a little, invisible on the adjacent rooftop, and then there was suddenly a blizzard, contained to that one square of sidewalk, the flurry dropping several inches right there. People stared. Some even took pictures, much to Jack's amusement. At any rate, it got the job done and as soon as Celia stepped out the door, the snow stopped. Jack touched down in front of her, shimmering into view, and her smile made him feel pretty good. He held up his hand, a rose materializing in his hand, which he tucked behind her ear before leaning down and giving her a kiss. When he stood upright again, she was blushing an impressive shade of red. "Ready to go?" Jack asked her, smiling a little. When she confirmed that she was, he scooped her up in his arms and jumped into the air, disappearing from sight. Not before several pedestrians snapped pictures of the infamous Jack Frost and his new sweetheart, of course. They didn't talk a whole lot during the flight but they never did; Celia seemed to enjoy the view from above when they flew together and he didn't mind the silence. He landed outside a small cafe a bit out of the city center, which seemed a bit out of place, as it was right next to an office building, but it had plenty of business and when the door opened, warm, comforting smells drifted out on the breeze. Jack opened the door for Celia, allowing her to enter first, and they sat in a small booth in the corner. A friendly waitress came and took their orders before retreating to allow them to converse in semi-privacy. "How's your morning been?" Jack asked her, idly drawing frosted designs on the tabletop with his fingers. They chatted quietly for a few minutes and then, as their food arrived, the whole building shook as though there had been an earthquake. Jack paused in the act of telling Celia what he had planned for the coming winter - there would be a lot of spontaneous snowball wars started in London this year - and looked around, brows creasing in suspicion. London didn't get earthquakes... Everyone in the little cafe had stopped what they were doing and were looking around. Some even peeked outside to see if anyone or anything had been disturbed by the tremor. Something's wrong...
When nothing else happened, most people went back to eating and soon the cafe was full of the sound of chatting and the clink of silverware on plates. Jack, however, couldn't shake the feeling that they should definitely not let their guard down. Earthquakes were not normal in this area... Something bad was going to happen. Sure enough, a few minutes after the tremor, vines broke through the roof of the cafe, barbed with thorns as big as knives and headed directly for every patron who'd arrived with the hope of a decent day... Including Celia. Several of the invasive plants were heading straight for the ashen haired beauty and she looked frozen with fear. s**t. Without a second thought, Jack darted from his seat and spun to face the incoming vines, throwing his staff outwards. The vines were met with a blast of ice and snow and they froze in place, inches from impaling him. The ice-wielder, without a pause, brought his staff down on the frozen vines, shattering them into chunks of green and blue crystal on the floor. There were screams as the rest of the patrons rushed for the door, pursued by more barbed plant life. Jack resisted the urge to sigh. One normal day. Just one. Was that too much to ask for? He reacted just as fast, freezing the hostile vines with blasts of sub-zero air, freezing them in place and shattering them. The patrons didn't even stop to look back; they hit the sidewalk at full speed and took off down the street, away from the buildings being attacked by vicious plant life. As more vines punched holes in the ceiling, aiming for the cause behind their frozen and shattered brethren, Jack froze them in place and then scooped Celia up in his arms, ducking under an attacking vine and darting through the door, freezing it shut the second they were out. The ice-wielder looked over his shoulder to see that the vines that had been intent on catching him had hit the door and frozen upon contact. They'd thaw out but by the time that happened, the plants would likely be dead and not a danger to anyone else. It was then that Jack realized that Celia was clutching his hoodie very tightly, shaking, and that her hands seemed to be heating up. [********]. Jack carefully set her down and disentangled her fingers from his hoodie, pushing her hair back from her face and saying, "Celia, hey, look at me. Everything's okay." She still felt too warm... "Everything's okay, I promise."
He kissed her forehead and enfolded her in a hug, wrapping his long arms around her small form and hugging her close to his body. She clutched his hoodie and buried her head in his chest. They stood there like that for several minutes, Jack feeling her slowly cool back down. Once she was back to a normal temperature, he let go of her and she looked up at him. "Come on, lets get out of her before that b***h decides she's not done wrecking the place... I've got something in mind." He picked her up again and pushed off the ground, becoming invisible just as the twins and Rotor exited the crumbling office building next to the desecrated cafe. Oh that was not going to be good... Jack frowned, knowing that Celia wouldn't be able to see him do so, and knew that he'd have to be ready to go to Rotor's rescue if the signal came through. The one twin was a bit of a fireball and might try to kill his friend once the shock wore off... If that happened, things would get even worse... Jack shoved those thoughts to the side. He'd come to Rotor's rescue if he was needed... Otherwise, his attention was focused solely on Celia. It was a good thing he had contingency plans in place, just in case something did happen to ruin dates and dinner plans. He'd started putting them in place after the appearance of Hana but they worked just as well after the appearance and attack from a crazy villainess. After a couple of minutes, and a stop at what looked to be a bakery, they landed in a small, quaint park that obviously didn't have a lot of foot traffic but was well taken care of. "It's not a cafe but I hope it'll be just as good," said Jack as he set her down on the grass. He took her hand and led her towards the little pond, pausing as they walked to shrug a bag off his back, which had come from the bakery he'd stopped by. Jack released Celia's hand and opened the bag, pulling out a checked blanket, which was spread out upon the grass, and then he gestured for Celia to sit down. Once she had, he pulled out a couple of sandwiches, still warm and made with thick slices of handmade bread, a thermos of lemonade, some fresh fruit, and a small cake that looked to be made specifically for two people (or one, if someone was feeling rebellious). It wasn't what he'd initially planned on doing, so it was a bit lack-luster compared to the delicious food they'd missed out on at the cafe. Jack sat down and picked up one of the sandwiches, which was wrapped in cellophane, and offered it to his date. "Enjoy." He smiled a little, blue eyes twinkling. He just hoped he could make up for what Ivy had ruined... In the back of his mind, he kept alert for any sign that Rotor might need his help.

"I've been around for a long time. My name is Jack Frost. I love being on my own. No rules. No responsibility. It's as good as it sounds."↲
