Elani had just opened her mouth to tell Jr not to over exert himself; before she had the chance though the young technopath had created a transmitter device with a button. He pushed the small button, saying, "This should do." Within a minute, a black SUV came swerving around the corner. Elani could only guess Jr had used the newly made device to summon it for them. The illusion over Jenny ceased as the vehicle approached, ending the bird song for the barely glad woman. Everyone piled into the SUV quickly, and the car began to drive them back towards base. The ride was quiet, a taciturnity overwhelming the car's inhabitants.

Once at the base, everyone slowly climbed out one by one; the first thing Riley did was to escort Jenny towards an interrogation room while Jr stood there, silent, clearly brooding. Elani had a hunch about what it could be, but, before she could talk to the boy, Manny spoke up, telling Jr not to beat himself about this. The young meta had done good. The teleporter next turned to the telepath, asking for a place to rest with a smile, requesting only that it contained food and a television.
Elani could not help but smile back at the charming youth as she replied, "Of course. I can take you to the living room before I take Jr up to the medical bay." Elani turned next to Jr, adding,"It is best you to go there, just in case your injuries are more severe than they look. You might have suffered some internal damage." With plans in place, the raven-haired woman gently picked up Manny with her telekinesis and had him float up the stairs ahead of herself while walking beside Jr. While they walked, she said to him lightly, "It is true what Manny said earlier Jr; you did very well. You fought bravely against an unknown enemy, and when he proved more powerful than you, you chose to do the wise thing by fleeing the area."

Upon reaching the living room, Elani gently lowered Manny onto the sofa, picking up the remote and handing it to him. "Please be patient Manuel, I will bring you something to eat when I come back down stairs," She said as she turned toward Jr, motioning for them to continue their trek up the stairs. Soon, they were walking into the medical bay where they were greeted by the sight of Novik, Sheera, and the sleeping Kayleb. Elani's face lit up in relief as she spotted the winged youth before giving both Sheera and Novik a short nod of greeting. She then turned her attention back to Jr.
The boy needed to lay down; knowing how fond Jr was of Sheera, suspecting it was likely the other way as well, Elani figured it would be best if he could be as close to the shadow wielder as possible. Elani waved her free hand, using her kinesis to slide the nearest empty medical bed to Sheera's other side, making sure the Russian would be sitting between the two young boys, both of them within arm's reach. Elani helped Jr into the relocated bed and walked over to Sheera. She spoke to the Russian with her native tongue in a low voice so she would not wake up Kayleb, <"Jr fought against a meta who wielded electricity. I'm afraid there could be some internal damage. I'm certain he will tell you everything, but please do not be too hard on him."> Then she glanced over at Kayleb, smiling softly as she continued, <"It is very good to see our winged angel home safe."> Once Jr was settled on the bed, Elani walked over to Novik, giving him a warm smile as she whispered in a kind voice, "Hello Novik. I wanted to let you know that I will be going down stairs shortly to make some tea. If you wish to join me for a cup you are most welcome to do so." Elani noticed that the alien's gaze lingered on the other three, so the telepath added, "I am certain those three would be fine on their own for a short while, but I don't want to press. It's your choice." Elani had been surprised to notice how much his form had been slipping, not letting it show though. She assumed this meant he was upset about something and she hoped he would come with her to get his mind off whatever was bothering him.

With that the olive skinned woman left the medical bay, making a short stop by her bedroom where she swiftly changed from her hero outfit to some civilian clothes, and headed back downstairs.

As soon as Elani walked into the kitchen, food and dishes began flying through the air, cupboards began to open and the sink turned on. She controlled the objects with her mind, joining them together as she began to lay out the objects needed for the tea making.
As the electric kettle floated to the sink, filling itself with water, a cutting board landed on the table alongside a banana; the banana opened itself as a knife began to slice it into small slices. Some bread and butter flew though the air landing on a plate that had just placed itself on the table.
While objects continued to work of their own accord, the telepath glanced at the clock, realizing that the hour was getting late. She decided now was a great time to start preparing dinner for everyone; it did not do well to let her adopted family go hungry. The oven turned itself on and a large pot floated slowly from one of the lower cupboards towards the sink. Once nearly full, the water-filled pot dropped lower as it moved itself onto the stove.

After a short time in the kitchen, Elani was walking back out into the living room with a tray in her hands that held two plates, one had four slices of bread with banana and butter on them and the other held four donuts. Beside the plates was a large glass of milk and two cans of cola. She made a bee line for the coffee table, bringing the spread to Manny.
Elani said, "Here you go, Manuel. I hope this will be enough until dinner is ready." She then noticed the stranger. Elani stopped and blinked for two whole seconds, surprised that she had missed his presence previously; perhaps she was more tired then she realized, saying. "Oh, hello there. I am Elani." As she introduced herself, the woman released the tray; it began floating by itself, landing on the coffee table she had aimed for. The telepath extended a hand for the stranger to shake as she added. "I did not know we had company, forgive my rudeness but might I ask why you are here?" Igasho gave a brief explanation of his name and that he was looking for allies for his mission. Once a brief explanation had been given, Elani gave a slow thoughtful nod before saying. "Well I can not promise on his behalf but I feel certain Manuel here..." As she spoke this, Elani gestured toward the teleporter, giving him a look that clearly asked for affirmation "...Would be more then happy to get you where you need to go if you are willing to wait a short while." She mentioned that it had been a long day and Manuel would need some time to rest if he would wait.
Elani turned to go back to the kitchen, but stopped. She looked back and said, "If you choose to wait then feel free to join me in the kitchen for a hot beverage as you do so."

Lonely Spirit

Katsumi had nodded off; his dreams were a mixture of good and bad, thought they didn’t last long. He was awoken by a loud banging. His hand quickly reached into his nearby pouch, just stopping from drawing a kunai as the woman outside began shouting. She was apparently a woman who thought herself to be a customer. Her words though made Katsumi blush. He supposed it could be taken like that to those that didn’t know better. He quickly grabbed his under shirt and slid it on as Celia tried to get rid of the nuisance, but the woman forced herself in anyways. After that, she browsed and made her thoughts quite audible. Katsumi began to wish he wouldn’t have put the knife back. This woman had to be one of the worst human beings in this entire town. Just as Katsumi had decided that customer service had its limits and that he would need to provide Celia with some assistance, the entire shop shook. It wasn’t just a light shaking either; the heat then began to climb. The unwelcome woman seemed to get the message and got out as fast as she could after that.

Celia’s phone rang. Immediately, the temperature began to drop. She answered the phone, and from the sound of it the other line was Maeva sending Celia home. Celia quickly cleaned things up and left him her phone number. She then locked the doors as she left. Katsumi was alone in the shop, though he wasn’t sure just how alone that really meant. This building was obviously more than just the materials that were used to build it. He really didn’t want to think too much about that, but the alternative was too hard. He just sat, facing the empty cauldron.

Katsumi didn’t know how much time had passed. He was surprised when the door opened and Arthur and Maeva walked in. Arthur came to him and gave him words of praise, suggesting he take the night off after Maeva was done with him. Katsumi barely registered the words, but nodded. His eyes tracked Arthur as he went to speak quietly to Maeva. The worry then set in. What was she going to do to him? Obviously it wasn’t good or she wouldn’t have sent Celia home. As Arthur walked out, Maeva approached. She prodded one of the darker bruises; a small wince escaped him unwillingly. He had been through too much pain to hide it. Maeva then mentioned lighting a fire to ease his pains as a fire jumped to life in the pit beneath the cauldron. The warm fire did little to dispel the chill Maeva filled the room with. She then commented on his failure and his heart dropped. She was upset with him and he was to pay for it.

The heart? Fickle? Maeva began to bustle about, throwing things in the cauldron. She was more than just a rare gem; she was a musgravite. She could not be matched. The cauldron released a puff of smoke, and Katsumi could swear it was Celeste’s golden heart. Maeva painted a verbal picture of the inner beauty of the golden haired beauty. So talented, kind, and generous. She had everything. Katsumi stared into the cauldron and could only imagine Celeste’s golden eyes. She was only known for good things. How could he possibly deserve someone like her? He was scum. He killed for a living; she risked her life to save lives for nothing. He was smitten with a woman that he had no chance with. The heart in his chest felt like it was ripping in two. Life could not get any worse, and then Sid walked in…

Thoughts: I’m bored/ What’s this?/How dare she?

{I}
t was time to find the woman Philip had met earlier. He breathed a deep sigh; he knew that going to meet with the woman played right into her will, but there was nothing to be done about it. She had left him just enough information to interest him, but not so much that he would grow bored before even starting. She wanted him to be a part of her revolution. He wanted to find something entertaining, and this would give him a chance to stay close to her. He would find the button that made her sense of control slip. Already there was a crack in her knowledge and he would find a way to use that. She meant to make him her pawn, but he was not a pawn; he was a knight. Every move Philip made defied the rules that bound every other piece. There were only two pieces that beat a queen, another queen and the knight.

Philip began the trek through town. He could probably find another way to travel, but there were so many new things to see in this city; he didn’t want to miss any of the fun London had to offer. Soon after he started walking, he saw a sign for an electronics store, Henry’s Radio. That could be interesting. Philip opened the door and a bell softly tinkled. He looked around and was stupefied. Electricity was flowing everywhere, but it was so controlled. Never before had he felt such organized energy. Philip was about to turn and leave this strange place, when an older man walked out of the backroom.
“Hello. My name is Henry. What can I do for you?” he asked.

Philip looked longingly at the door, but something about this man made him say, “I don’t understand how you control the electricity like this. Everywhere I sense, the energy flows in predictable paths, none of it going where it isn’t directed. How do you do that?”

The older man chuckled. He stepped out from behind the counter and walked over to Philip, gesturing his arm to show he wanted Philip to come in further,
”I have taught one of your kind before. You sense the electricity, feel it flowing through the world, just as it flows through you. Let me show you some things. Perhaps by learning to control your element better, you can learn more about yourself.” The man then began to explain the nearest set of devices. Philip couldn’t explain it, but the man had caught his interest. He listened, learning about the amplifiers he was being shown.

After some time, Philip looked out the window; the sun was looking much lower than it had before. He had only intended to look for a short while, but had spent at least an hour, if not more listening to the man explain the amplifiers, what they were made of, how they worked. He hurriedly thanked Henry, promising to come back again and rushed out the door. He briskly walked in the direction of the seedier part of town.

When he had just decided this walk might not really be worth it, maybe he should go back to Henry’s Radio, Maeva’s shop came into view. Philip looked at it warily; he was walking into the black queen’s den. He was certainly no white knight. Really he liked to view himself as a blue knight, but that didn’t make this move any less risky. In order to draw her out though, he would have to play the game on her terms for a bit. Philip walked closer to the building, sensing the flow of electricity to see what he was walking into… That was strange. He only sensed two people… that didn’t make any sense at all, not in this modern society. This only doubled the electrokinectic’s wariness. He took a deep breath and walked in.

A knife flew directly at his head. He ducked back behind the doorway, watching the knife fly across the street until burying itself into the shop’s sign across the street. The woman had laid a trap for him. She would regret that. He didn’t have much time to worry about that though as the woman’s supposed failure came out the door, spotting him quickly.

Katsumi released the kunai, surprised by Sid’s quick reflexes as he ducked back out the door. He followed his knife out and spotted his query just as a fist covered in sparks flew towards his slightly bruised face.

Philip used that moment it took for the small Asian to find him to build a charge in his fist. Just as the man’s eyes show recognition, the electrokinetic swung with a powerful hook aimed for a knockout blow. He wanted to finish this fast so he could deal with the she-devil inside.

The assassin quickly moved backward falling into a back handspring. As his body compressed to bring his motion around though, his muscles screamed in pain. He collapsed on the ground, his stomach smashing into the pavement. He quickly backed up, standing up, his arm holding his stomach. He cursed himself for losing as he had earlier; his body was in no shape to take down Sid.

Philip watched as the man dodged his attack, only to collapsed into miserable, injured prey. He watched as the injured man scurried back, standing in obvious pain. Philip held his hands in front of him, slowly building a ball of lightning between them, savoring the look upon the assailant’s face as he knew he was going to die.

"Elektro"

The car ride home, it was tense and he felt out of place. His eyes only meeting the passing people during the drive until it drove into the garage. The thought of losing something so precious to him still killed him inside, and the maniac obviously got into his head. Watching Riley and Jen retreat to the interrogation room and being left with Elani and Manny seemed out of place. He felt he should have taken off alone. The pain from Surge's attacks still lingered, his focus on the pain was interrupted by Manny placing his hands on his shoulders. Many praised him, and told him not to worry or let it get to him. It was easy for him to do that, he didn't leave his friends to die and lose his parents again. Jr choked out a "Thank you" and a forced smile.

Walking up the stairs hurt as every step sent pain throughout his body. He knew Elani might be right about the internal damage, so to the med-bay to take care of this pain. It was quiet while he thought of different ways of how he could get back what belonged to him from that maniac until Elani broke the silence. "It is true what Manny said earlier Jr; you did very well. You fought bravely against an unknown enemy, and when he proved more powerful than you, you chose to do the wise thing by fleeing the area.""

Jr paused for a moment, going back to remember the fight. He couldn't possibly accept the praise because he still almost got his teammates killed and he lost it. "Thanks." he replied to Elani not giving her eye contact. They had dropped Manny off and Jr stood in the med-bay seeing Novik, Sheera, and Kayleb. He was happy to see Kayleb back and sleeping, while Sheera looked like she was doing better. Novik well, Novik was being Novik. Jr watched Elani move a medical bed towards Sheera and told him to lay down. He didn't lay down but he did sit down next close to Sheera and smiled at her. Elani and Sheera had a quick conversation in Russian, Jr knew it was about him. Maybe to tell her how horribly he did when choosing his own life over his teammates. Great, the Russian still scared Jr. And Scoldings from her were sharp like a knife.. Jr watched Elani leave the area after speaking with Novik. The room was silent between Sheera and Jr for a few seconds till he finally mustard the courage to ask her how she was doing. "Are you feeling better?" she nodded, but he could tell she knew he was beating around the bush. Laying down he could feel the burns pulsing while sending more pain, he could sure use some of Celeste healing.. Jr laid his back against the bed looking at the ceiling. "I fought another meta today. I need to ask you something.. The day I first saw Darren, and JC was in front of a gas station, they were fighting a man named Sid. I was reading files on past villains, and well the meta I fought looked exactly like him. Except, he didn't have abilities remotely close to Sids. He was an electrokinetic." he released a slight twitch from the pain again.

"Located:Med Bay.Mood:Upset/Frustrated/OuchThoughts:Sid.. Surge.. hmmm. Ugh... this burn still hurts.

For a few moments, Tina wanted nothing more than to strangle Will. She had JUST said to tell JC not to come, and Will immediately went to call him to tell him the condition of the twins. “Will-“ She sounded pissed but she was, thankfully for Will, cut off by JC’s arrival at the door. She turned her eyes to the door, “Just give us…” Her voice trailed off as she bit down on her lip to try and hold in the anger at Will just opening the door and allowing JC to enter without even asking the twins. A dark glare was thrown at Will, which only deepened as Will went on to explain how ‘bad’ of a condition they were in. “We are fine Hawk.” She said without removing her glare from Will.

Tina’s gaze finally left Will when Amanda decided Tina was to be healed first. Tina didn’t want to agree, but it did make more sense to work on herself first. The curse in Amanda was further from the heart, so it meant it was more likely to kill Tina herself first, rather than Amanda. “Okay. Let’s do this.” She spoke through clenched teeth as she did what she could to help Amanda pull the poison from her veins and out the re-opened stomach wound. It hurt.. so much worse than it should have. It was almost like the poison inside refused to be pulled out, refused to be removed from it’s host. But it was slowly getting ripped out and replaced, and after a few long minutes, it was all removed and trapped in a floating ball of water.

The pair took a few moments to stop the bleeding and close the wound enough that stitches were no longer necessary, but Tina forced the attention away from herself and to Amanda before they could fully repair the damage. It was a silent transition, Tina pulled the water away from herself and moved it to Amanda’s leg. Her twin followed and the pair got to quick work on removing the curse from Amanda’s severely damaged leg.

The poison didn’t take quite so long to remove from Amanda as it had from Tina, though they did spend more time on fixing what they could of Amanda’s wound with what energy they had left. It would still be awhile before she could walk without quite the limp though. It wasn’t until they were done fixing one another that they paid any mind or attention to the others in the room. JC had left at some point, and now Will and Sarai were talking to each-other over by the bed with the other woman in the room, who had woken up. “What are you two doing? Leave her alone.” Tina half snapped, though she was too tired to really put much effort into her anger. Lucky for them. She wasn’t going to be pleased when she learned one of their reasons to come here in the first place was to find this woman because of some message left at base.

CELESTE SOLSTICE & SHEERA NOCTESILVIS

"Lux, that's not how it really works, but I will do my best to give you what free information I have. My name is Mokin, also known as Hack Shot. My friend here, is Karuma." The bird in question bobbed its head in question at the mention of its name. So the owl was called 'Karuma'... Interesting. And likely important. Celeste logged that information away for later use; their computers would likely be able to search out this man and maybe even find something on his bird companion. It seemed a bit more intelligent than any ordinary owl she'd ever seen. She'd need to ask Sheera about it; her friend had a certain affinity for animals and a knowledge of things she commonly shouldn't know. Surely she'd know something about the bird at least. The man's name was Mokin but his codename was Hack Shot... That was surely something that could be tracked down, no matter what kind of payment he dealt in. He continued, "We work out of Tokyo, Japan. Though, we travel quite a bit. You're right, I was shooting at Rotor and... Jack, you said? I was trying to destroy information held by another assassin known as Red 53. They held the information on a USB drive and were planning to release it to someone you might not care for too much. A woman by the name of Maeva-" That name was unfamiliar to her and would have to be investigated as well. "I shot only once. To destroy the USB. If anything I might have done you guys a favor, depending on the contents of said drive. Now... I will give you a little more information if you tell me this: What reasons do you have for not fearing me if not the simple fact that I do not appear as a threat?" She thought this over for a moment. Why didn't she see him as a threat? It was quite simple really. "In much the same way that my partner can feel the darkness in people, I can sense the light by the absence of darkness. You are not a bad person, despite your profession and the things you have been through in your lifetime. You are not a threat to me or to anyone else here." But I still can't let you out. She felt dreadful for not being able to allow him to leave; she needed to speak with JC about this man and get his opinion on it. The blind man was an assassin and regardless if he was no longer trying to kill parts of the team... He could still potentially be a threat to them. After she had answered, Mokin simply nodded and continued, "I see. Well... as promised... Drift has been helping to obtain information from the Challengers, forwarding it to an agent of the CIA, who has, in turn, been relaying that to the CIA, and Drift knows this. I'm sure you are aware of his relation to said agent, but I doubt you knew of his handoff of information." CIA agent? But who... Realization dawned. Aria. It made so much sense now... It explained a lot of things... Such as her appearance at the base in LA and her subsequent following of them all the way from the states to London, despite her relationship with Darren, which hadn't truly become solidified until a few months ago and then their engagement had followed shortly thereafter. What kind of information had he been giving to her to pass along to the CIA? Important thing? Things so minuscule they had no meaning? It was anyone's guess. Celeste was aware, then, that he appeared to be awaiting some kind of a response and so made sure she gave nothing away; even if he had been able to see her, her expression would have been blank and non-committal, relaxed. "Also... and it's only because you're so nice that I'm giving this up without fee. The contractors... they are located in Tokyo. One final thing... please refrain from calling me a murderer. If you can't help it, I understand, but I'm not the only one in this base with blood on my hands. Now, if that will be all, I would like to be imprisoned in peace." The people who had hired him were located in Tokyo... Interesting. And quite a long-distance contract as well. As for the 'murderer'... Well. "Thank you for all you have told me and I apologize if I have offended you by calling you a 'murderer', though... That is what you do for a living, isn't it? Kill people, I mean. That's what you intended to do to some of us, until your contract fell through that is. I do suggest, however, that you don't bring up deaths that have occurred by some of our members hands, unless you want your blood to be on there as well. I'll leave you to your thoughts for now. Good day." Her voice had not lost that soft, gentle quality to it this whole time she had been speaking and she stood, the golden chair disappearing as she did so. The only thing he would hear would be her footsteps as she headed down the hall a bit to see who Riley had brought in to the interrogation cell; the Scotsman and The Shimmer, Geraldo, were standing in front of the window looking inside. She arrived by their side in time to see Geraldo smooth his hair back and adjust his shirt, fussing with the bloodstain, as he asked, “Who is she, and how much does it cost to get one?” "She's not a thing to be bought, Mr. Geraldo." The boys jumped, as though they hadn't realized that she was done speaking with the blind man at the end of the hall. "Riley, who is she?" The Scotsman explained who she was and why she was here, the circumstances under which she had been placed into the interrogation room and afterwards, the white-haired female nodded. "Thank you; I can take it from here." She then closed her eyes and touched the communicator in her ear: "Nox, if you are feeling up to it, I could use your aid."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sheera was getting incredibly tired of feeling Novik's eyes on her; she knew he disapproved of a great many things that she said and did and what had happened down in the containment cells had greatly upset him. She knew she shouldn't have spoken to him the way she had, he'd only been trying to help. Novik was a kindred spirit, not fit to be on a planet like Earth, where cruelty was around every corner. This was not a good place for him to be stranded indefinitely... Her eyes never left Kayleb and her hand was wrapped lightly around his, wishing he would sleep long enough to regain his energy but hoping he would wake so that she could apologize to him for what had happened. It was all her fault that any of this had happened. She needed to apologize. The Russian was pulled from her thoughts by Elani entering the medical bay, Jr at her side... He looked terrible. Sheera sat up, rather too fast for her abdomen wound it seemed, and she had to hiss in a quick breath in order to refrain from swearing rather loudly. Elani waved a hand and one of the empty medical beds shifted itself to move to the Russian's other side so that she was now sitting between that one and the one that Kayleb was currently passed out on. As the brunette helped Jr onto the bed, she said, <"Jr fought against a meta who wielded electricity. I'm afraid there could be some internal damage. I'm certain he will tell you everything, but please do not be too hard on him."> Sheera almost snorted. It was hardly her first priority to chew out the teenager for winning his first solo fight with another meta who was not holding back, like she had when they had sparred. <"It is very good to see our winged angel home safe."> The Russian nodded, remaining silent throughout however. Elani went over to Novik and spoke softly to him before leaving the room, leaving them all alone together. Everything was silent for a bit until Jr asked, "Are you feeling better?" Sheera arched an eyebrow up at him and nodded but she knew, instinctively, that he was beating around the bush; there was something on his mind and he wanted to ask her about it. The teenager laid down and she saw him wince; there was a lot of injury under the surface but she wasn't going to heal him. It would put him through more pain than it was worth. "I fought another meta today. I need to ask you something.. The day I first saw Darren, and JC was in front of a gas station, they were fighting a man named Sid. I was reading files on past villains, and well the meta I fought looked exactly like him. Except, he didn't have abilities remotely close to Sids. He was an electrokinetic." Sheera thought this over for a moment before saying, "I 'ear no question." There were several that could perhaps be inferred there but she wasn't about to prod into things with which she had no business in. "You 'vant know of Sid, I am guessing? 'e died. Jean killed 'im and 'vas paralyzed for troubles but 'is not crazy to 'zhink 'zat 'vas 'vearing different face 'zhan 'is own. Sid 'vas very talented shape-shifter." It would cause a lot of problems if there was a man running around London that had Sid's face... A lot of problems indeed. "Regardless of 'oo man 'vas... You are alive and 'zhat's 'vhat matters." To walk away from a fight with another meta when Jr himself was yet to be fully trained and not quite fully experienced... It was a miracle. The boy was lucky to still be walking. "Celeste 'vill 'eal you." It would hurt him too much for her to do it. Novik had not gone with Elani. Instead... He seemed to have dozed off and just in time too, as Sheera then received Celeste's summons to the interrogation room. Her eyes flicked over to rest on Novik for a second before she stood, shadows swirling around her body; when they vanished, she was in her Hero-form. Her stomach, which was usually in full view, was shrouded in shadows, which protected her injury and made it easier to stand without support; it gave a whole new look to her costume. She looked over at Jr and put a finger to her lips, indicating that he should remain silent and not alert the dozing alien to what she was about to do. And then she disappeared in a swirl of darkness, disappearing from the medical bay and reappearing next to Celeste, holding her friends mask and bloodstained gloves. Celeste took the gloves and mask from Sheera and placed them back on, adjusting both so that they sat comfortably before telling the boys, "Stay out here please." Then she and Sheera both entered the interrogation room together. There were no better metas to play good cop and bad cop than this pair, as one was naturally sweet and pleasant and the other naturally bitter and unpleasant, two sides of the same coin; they made it work quite well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Hello, Ms. Jenny. My name is Lux and this is Nox," said Celeste as they entered, the door slamming shut behind Sheera and locking so that the other two couldn't get in, just in case it so happened that they saw something they didn't like. "I apologize for any rough treatment you received at the hands of our teammates." The blond female said that it wasn't anything she couldn't handle and then politely asked for some clothing that she could put on over her spandex shorts and sports bra, as she felt it was unprofessional to continue speaking while she was in such a state. Jenny appeared to be of the same size as Celeste herself was so she said, "If you can wait a few moments, I can get some clothing for you; Nox will wait in here with you." She gave the other heroine a look that clearly stated 'behave' before exiting and heading upstairs, leaving Jenny and Sheera alone together. Things were silent for a moment. The Russian was watching the blond, appraising her, the darkness whispering in the back of her mind, telling her things. This woman would not be easy to break by typical methods... But there was a way to break her. " 'oo you work for?" asked Nox, pacing around the room. The woman wouldn't say anything on who she was working for and refused to really speak a whole lot on why she had been in an altercation with members of the team, just as she didn't answer many of the other questions that were asked. Obviously asking the way she was wasn't going to get her anywhere. Nox took a breath and then knelt down next to Jenny, whispering something in her ear, something that caused the blond's eyes to widen and then she completely freaked out, flipping the table and screaming at the Russian; a light smirk could be seen within the shadow of her hood and then she raised her hand, a shadow hand erupting from her own and pinning Jenny to the ground. This was about the time that Celeste arrived back downstairs and saw what was going on through the window; her eyes widened and then she flashed into the room, ramming into Sheera to dislodge her and free Jenny, who was simply shaking like a leaf at this point. Sheera stumbled, the shadow-hand dissipating as she regained her balance and Celeste walked over to help Jenny to her feet, apologizing profusely for Sheera's behavior as she handed the blond a bundle of clothing to wear. A curtain appeared around the blond, allowing her to change in privacy, and then the table was set back up properly and they sat down to interrogate further. Not long after that... The pair left the interrogation room. Sheera's hands were lightly bruised, partially from hitting the metal table and partially from a bit of abuse directed towards Jenny, which Celeste was highly unhappy about. The white-haired female escorted Sheera back up to the medical bay, watching as she powered down and sat between the beds that Jr and Kayleb were laying on. Then she went to Jr's side and proceeded to heal the burns and bruises on his body, to ease the obvious pain he was in. "I'm glad you're okay," she whispered before kissing his forehead and leaving the medbay, giving Sheera one last look that indicated harsh consequences if she left to go bother either of their incarcerated visitors. The Russian sighed and leaned back in her chair, one hand over her abdomen as she closed her eyes; it had been a really long day. Celeste sighed and collapsed onto the couch; it had been such a terrible day.

Manny was grateful for Elani's help up the stairs, as he would not have been able to do it himself. Today was one of many days when he simply ran himself into the ground, and tried to keep going. Luckily, he was not forced to do so, and had a chance to relax. He did feel really bad that he wasn't doing more for Jr, but he simply did not have the energy to do so. In fact, the next thing he knew, he was on the couch, alone in the living room.

He blinked slowly and looked around, trying to figure out how long he had been alone, before deciding it simply was not worth it, and relaxing into the couch. He blinked, or thought he did, but when his eyes opened, Elani was back and changed. This caused him to sit up and look around with wide eyes. Had he just passed out? What the hell?

At least he was awake enough when Elani came over with food to thank her properly. “Elani, thank yo-... oh, hello, sorry... kinda out of it.” he said upon seeing the stranger. He sat up straighter and happily grabbed some food from Elani's plate. She would definitely be getting some sort of thanks later, that much was obvious. Otherwise he'd be asleep in the garage right now.

“Pleasure to meet you. Elani is right, I'd be happy to help, could even get you there, I just need a chance to recharge my batteries. Should be good in... ten minutes or so, depending on how much Rockstar I drink. A lot easier then simply telling you and sending you off.” he explained.

As he spoke, he pulled out a Rockstar that had been in between the couch cushions; he wasn't sure who it belonged to, but it was unopened and now it was his. It could be replaced anyways. Given a chance, Manny could replace it in the same spot and nobody would know. If he remembered, which he likely would; he was good with things like that.

The drink tasted simply god awful, but he was used to it by now, pounding energy drinks quite often. It was the curse of his gift after all.

JC observed the goings on of the room very quickly once he was inside; the twins were hurt with something keeping them from healing (or at least making it a lot more difficult), Sarai and Will were here but not to keep tabs on the twins (at least from what he could tell), and there was a woman in the bed. Perhaps the woman was why the duo was here, with the twins being a happy accident. He was sure he would get the full story at some point. What concerned him the most at the moment were the twins and the wounds from Lincat.

Lincat was a former classmate and friend, not to mention current enemy; JC knew what his damage looked like, and there was not much that matched it. The only thing he had found that counteracted it well was Celeste's healing light, but she was not here. As he watched, it appeared the healing was working, which let him settle. He had no lecture for anyone, no chewing out to give. His team was safe and that was all that mattered to him. Fighting Lincat was rough and brutal, but sometimes it had to be done, and he was certain the wins had a good reason for it; he was not going to bug them for it now. Instead he walked over to Will and Sarai.

"They will be fine; the poison is leaving." JC explained in a whisper so as to not distract the twins. "With them good, and you two in place, I trust everything will be fine. If you guys need me, let me know, otherwise I'm going to go relieve the stress of dealing with thirty bombs and hostages." he smiled wearily. He trusted the two to handle things, even if Twins weren't here. The rookies were worked hard, they were watched over, but he knew what they could do and he trusted them. The team was a family, and being brought in meant a certain level of trust was already in place. Whatever happened, they would be fine.

With his goodbyes said and the twins still distracted, JC slipped out of the room, only to see the nurses were all still gathered, with the huffy one still talking angrily. She opened her mouth as he came out, so he gave her a look that said she could go ahead and speak. Not getting anger back though, she faltered and fell quiet.

"Fair enough, I will go first then. They are finishing healing themselves and will be out of your hair shortly. I thank you all for your hardwork and your patience. I know we can be unorthodox while here, it is an unfortunate by product of the job we find ourselves doing. With that, I must be off, but I will be back of course for a visit. Have a good evening." he smiled and began to walk out.

"Now just a minute!" the huffy nurse yelled, running over and grabbing his arm. Were he not controlled, JC would have instinctively flipped her over his shoulder. Luckily for the nurse, training suppressed instincts, which of course was the purpose of training. Still, he stiffened before turning and glaring at her. "One, do not grab me like that. Two, nobody has been hurt, we are trying to be unobtrusive. Three, nobody else has a problem here, so how about you calm down." he said; it was phrased as a question but his tone left no other option than listening. The nurse let go, but still looked angry.

"You can't just march in here like that, what gives you that right?!?" she yelled. JC's glare could have frozen lava.

"What gives me the right? I have technically died three times. I have watched my friends die in front of me. I have given up everything so good people don't suffer. I have suffered horrors and tortures even soldiers never have to deal with." he cut into her, towering over her with barely suppressed rage. He opened his uniform shirt and revealed the numerous scars across his chest. "I have seen all the hells this world has to offer and come out fighting on the other side to keep decent people away from it. When you have endured burning, when you have had your mind stripped out and toyed with, when you have dealt with even a fraction of the pain we have, you can talk. Until then, kindly take the stick out of your a** and shut the hell up because one of the rooms is occupied." he finished, closing his uniform top and turning before he would do something he would regret.

There was some laughter from the other nurses, and more than a few regretted not having phones out to record what had happened. The crowd began to dissipate; the scene was over and it was back to work. JC was still very angry and knew exactly where he needed to go right now to get his head straight.

While Chi was busy in the kitchen, she would be able to hear another voice, from just outside her door, rising just above her stereo. "Call me, irresponsible... call me, unreliable.... Throw in undependable too." By this time, she was putting down her cutlery and heading towards the door. "Do my foolish alibis bore you?" the voice crooned. When she opened her door, JC was there, dressed in slacks and a dress shirt, holding flowers; the same roses from when they met. "Well, I'm not too clever, I just adore you." he smiled, handing over the flowers. "Mind if I come in?"

(Keep eyes open for possible EDIT)

His chest cavity rose and fell as air was taken in, then released. His lashes were intertwined, his eyelids glued shut. A twitch from his finger, a spasm from his knee. Darren's face floated across the pillow as his body turned itself over. His arm stretched across the bed only to land on a sea of matted sheets. His eyebrows furled in confusion as a groan left his throat. His hand began feeling around, searching for the skin of another. The warmth had all but faded from these fabrics. The world suddenly opened up to Darren as sound filled his ears, colors filled his vision, the smell of... artificial strawberries... a hint of coconut... above all, alcohol rammed his nose like a freight train. His body twisted swiftly to sit up. Aria was in the kitchen. From the temperature of the sheets next to him, she had been away for a while. A bead of sweat formed itself upon his forehead. It was quickly wiped away as Darren placed his feet on the floor. He stared at the cracks of the wooden floor in depth as he always did. The dark finish had been breaking down at a molecular level since his transfer from the base. This particular side of the bed had gone nearly untouched before his arrival. Though, even now, to the normal eye it was flawless. If things were based purely on his view of the world, a hell of a lot more money would be spent on refurbishing absolutely everything. Luckily, this was not the case. A hand extended, reaching for his jeans, which laid just near the foot of the bed.

Darren exited the room, his bare feet still adapting to the cold floor. His arms stretched outward as he yawned, before a single hand found it's way to the back of his neck, rubbing out any strained muscles. Aria's back was to him. She was wearing a short robe, and from what he could tell... not much else. A smile graced his face for a moment as he stepped to the kitchen. The smells from before became stronger. He put his nostrils under control, dimming their perception. He did the same with his tongue. Before long, he reached her, wrapping his arms around her torso as his cheek rested against hers. "Mmmm... Afternoon baby." He could feel the blood flow to her cheeks as she blushed slightly. She placed down the Strawberry Daiquiri made with Coconut Rum before spinning in his arms to face him, her arms stringing themselves around his neck. Darren smiled as he pecked at her lips. "How many? Three? Four?" She replied without specifying, simply stating that she had enough to take the edge off. It was certainly so, as she was basically swimming in his embrace, her back against the counter. Darren's hands had found their way to her hips as he swayed just a bit. He was pulled closer, causing his bare chest to press against Aria's clothed upper body. Their lips toyed with each other, pecking randomly, until they were enveloped in a passionate kiss. Both of their hearts began racing. This would be at least the seventh time today... but it was obviously not meant to be. A faint ringing noise moved it's way into Darren's eardrum. It would be silent to Aria. The ring was near inaudible and was coming from the other room. The moment was stolen as he stopped what he was doing. Aria asked him what was going on with a giggle before she realized his face had dropped serious. She seemed fairly worried and cupped his face with her hands, making him look her in the eye. She was straight forward, asking him what was wrong while searching his eyes as if she could find an answer within them. He placed his fingers around her wrist gently, guiding them downward as he stared back into her emerald eyes. "Don't worry about me baby. I'm fine. I just need to check on something. Okay?" she nodded, still worried, still confused as she rubbed over his chest. She then hung her forefinger on her lips nervously, her chin resting in her palm. Darren smiled faintly before turning, "I'll be right back. I promise."

The archer paced quickly into the bedroom, listening for the faint ring. It was coming from his sock drawer. He quickly opened it and sitting there was the communicator that Montoro had given him. He placed it on his ear and activated it. "Shaw." he greeted, slightly annoyed. "Darren, it's.." "I know who it is. What do you want... I'm a little busy at the moment." On the other end, he could hear a scoff, "Busy? I would hardly call what you're doing busy." Darren quickly became angered, but kept his voice hushed, "Are you spying on me and my fiancée?" Montoro tried to hold back a laugh, "Hardly. Merely speculation. Thank you for clarifying it though." "Look, I'd hate to be rude, but could you get on with why you're calling me? Do you want us to meet so soon?" Montoro straightened his tone, "Actually, not at the moment. Soon, yes... but not now. I'm actually calling because I'm under the impression that the Challengers are holding a couple of people in custody." Two people... incarcerated in the Challenger base... and Darren hadn't been called? "I'm sure you are aware, but I haven't exactly been in the loop today. Mind filling me in?" Montoro explained that a woman by the name of Jenny and a mercenary under the guise, Hack Shot were being held captive... and that they should be released... immediately. "I'm not a puppet Montoro. I'm sure my team had good reason for arresting them." Montoro was quick to debate, "That, they did. However, it is time for their release. Trust me, it's better for you and your team to let them go. I'm not going to ask politely again. Oh, and before you mouth off... yes, this is me asking politely. If they are not released within the hour... I'm putting your masquerade from the other night on the news. I really don't want to bring out blackmail, but if you can't cooperate with me... I have no other choice." Darren clinched his fist, "I'll do it... on one condition..." Montoro listened patiently, "...You destroy any evidence you have of that night. I don't care if you have to burn it. I want it erased." There was silence... then, "Done. I have your word?" "You have my word." Darren finished before nearly throwing the comm as he pulled it from his ear. He had to go to base. Aria might not be happy about it, but... it was necessary.

Darren closed the bedroom door behind him after stepping out completely dressed. Aria stared at him. She looked saddened, if not slightly agitated. He looked at her, sighing as his hands went to the air and flopped to his sides before his hands were placed in his pockets. His head hung low. "I'm sorry baby..." he began, his head coming up to look at her as she picked up the strawberry daiquiri and began sipping on it once more, "They need me at the base... I know it's sudden, but hey... we had a good day. I wish it could have lasted the 'whole' day, but I guess we just... have to grab what we can get. I might be awhile, but I will come home as soon as I can." He gave her room to say her piece. As she spoke he drew closer to her. By the time she finished, his arms were wrapped around her once more, laying a kiss upon her lips. "I'm sorry baby. I'll see you when I get home. Okay? " she nodded, returning the kiss. He didn't know if he could let go. This day... such a perfect day. No mission... no life threatening catastrophe... but that was in his day. No one had called him... surely nothing that terrible had transpired in his absence.

Darren was on the move, speeding his way through the streets of London. As he rode along on his Ducati (his incognito motorcycle) he listened to the news reports streaming on every television in his nearest vicinity. The things he heard... Why hadn't he been called?! Evochists? Multiple attacks on innocents? Amanda and Tina injured? A rising haven? It was ridiculous what he had missed today. Day off for him... terror for everyone else. If he had been there for at least one... he might have made a difference. There were also a few smaller stories. Stonehenge had been fixed. There were rumors of Terron retiring. A hero in town, long thought to have disappeared named Geraldo. These were nice bits of information, but nothing that made him shiver as the others had. He tried multiple times to call JC, but no answer... straight to voicemail. He sent a text:

'JC, those dogs you found... I'm letting them go. They don't belong in the house. Also, on an 'un'related note, my boss called. I might have to go into work sooner than expected.'

A few blocks away from base he turned into an alley, entering the tunnels. Minutes later he pulled into the garage, parking his bike before heading to change into Drift attire. He then made his way the holding room. As soon as he entered he saw Riley stationed at the door of the interrogation room and a man locked in one of the cells with an owl. There was also another man... he didn't know. He was picking up a faint scent of Terron, but other than that... this guy was giving him nothing to go off of. Not his problem. Riley seemed to be sort of okay with him, but was giving off a vibe as if he didn't know much about him either. Darren had not been detected until, "Ghille boy." Riley perked up, greeting Darren as he approached the interrogation room. When asked how he was, the archer replied, "I was doing fine... but I've learned a lot on my ride over. Who do we have in the interrogation room?" He gave his story on the fight. Darren nodded as Riley spoke. The other man... his face... it was Geraldo. He knew he had heard the name before, and was just now matching it up with the face. He had seen posters, ads, and all sorts of propaganda related to the man. It was a long time ago... but it existed. As soon as Riley gave him a name, Darren's focus snapped back, "Let her go." Riley seemed stunned. He didn't understand. "Riley please. It's hard to explain, but we are much better off without her in custody. Trust me, man. It's going to be fine." He still seemed uncomfortable. "Here, so that nothing is on your hands... I'll do it. That way, if something happens... I alone am to be blamed." Darren smiled at him, trying to let him know that Darren knew what he was doing. Inside... he wasn't so sure.

The archer pulled the door wide open. "Jenny, a previous employer of yours called and you are free to go." She wasn't so sure. What was it with everyone and being so cautious? He almost forgot that no one had experienced quite the pleasant day he had. Also... Jenny looked a tad skittish. Sheera, no doubt. He walked to her, hands in the air before releasing her bound hands. "If you can be civil about it... I am releasing you. Come now. Nox is not down here." Jenny finally followed him out. He didn't head to the exit quite yet. Instead, he walked to Mokin's cell. "Hack Shot?" Mokin cocked his head, "Who wants to know?" Darren placed his hand on the wall, releasing the barrier, "Drift. I'm releasing you. You comin' or not?" Mokin stood to his feet. "This seems a bit simple. No questions?" Darren sighed, "No questions. Just a release. Is it so hard to understand?" Mokin chuckled a bit, "Just a bit much to take in." Karuma hopped upon Mokin's shoulder as he stood, stepping out of the barrier zone. "Well I'm not dead yet. Are you for real?" Darren took Mokin by the arm and whispered to both Jenny and Mokin, "You are both to report to Montoro Inc. immediately. I'm going to blindfold you for security until you are far enough away from base." Mokin pointed to his eyes, "So... you are going to blindfold... a blind man?" Darren scowled, "Yes, smartass. You and your bird. We live in a world of metas Hack Shot. I don't trust you as far as I can throw you." Mokin shrugged, "Fair enough." Darren fitted the blindfolds then led them to the Mustang. Loud engine... they wouldn't be able to return based on sound information.

After riding for a few minutes, making unnecessary turns just in case, he stopped, letting them out. "Take off the blinds. Be on your way." Drift peeled out, racing off in a random direction. Eventually he turned enough corners to dive into the tunnels without being seen.

Darren walked back into the holding room. Geraldo seemed to have left, but he was met with more than just Riley's confused face. Supposedly Ghille had gone to retrieve Celeste, who seemed baffled. "Now, Celeste... before you say anything... I had a reason. One I cannot discuss in mixed company." he stated, looking to Riley.

Jr sat quietly on the medical bay, he listened to Sheera "You 'vant know of Sid, I am guessing? 'e died. Jean killed 'im and 'vas paralyzed for troubles but 'is not crazy to 'zhink 'zat 'vas 'vearing different face 'zhan 'is own. Sid 'vas very talented shape-shifter." He knew Sid was dead but that didn't explain, who or why someone looked like a dead man. He looked over at the dozed off Novik, Novik had the ability to change forms and appearances. Sid was able to shape-shift, something dawned on Jr, it wouldn't be something as simple as that. Maybe Sid had a twin? Or, someone altered DNA and created a clone? Wouldn't be surprising.. Ugh, he also had to think about the abilities, something about Surge's electrokinesis was different, it was stronger than Aria's but also felt differently entirely. Why was he so obsessed with touching or obtaining his watch? Surge seemed fixated on in. Jr's concentration was broken to the sound of Sheera stating Celeste would heal him, thank goodness because if Sheera did it, then he would definitely be feeling it tomorrow. He nodded to her indication of keeping quiet while she left for a brief moment. The little time she was gone he kept thinking, his back rest against the medical bed. Looking at his sleeping teammates from time to time. Twins and clones, all possible theories he had running in his head.

Within the time trying to theorize the Surge situation, he noticed Sheera back along with Celeste escorting her. Sheera sat between him and Kayleb, her hands looked slightly bruised. His looks were broken with Celeste coming to his aid, he felt the warm light from her healing as the pain quickly left from the burns. He smiled at her "Thanks Celeste." he said. He nodded as she stated that she was glad he was okay, and gave a smile as she kissed his forehead before leaving. He watched as the look on her face had quickly turned to a more stern expression, not towards him but towards Sheera. He'd wonder what would happen if you got on Celeste bad side. He guessed that Sheera knew. He watched as Sheera was laying down and her eyes closed. He figured she needed more rest, so he slipped out of the medical bay so he didn't disturb them.

He took a deep breathe as he was now behind a closed door to the medical bay. Jr quietly walked to his room, he was in a deep thought, the way Surge wanted his watch still bugged him. It was like it meant something to him, something of importance. Maybe it wasn't the watch itself but the electrical current the flowed inside?

He closed the door to his room, tired from the day still. But he had to do something to occupy his time. "Jai, pull up the last signal before the tech wen't down." Jai quickly displayed on one of the many monitor's in his room a satalite picture of a park. This was the area where it wen't off last. Surge definitely has the watch. No worries, he knew that he wasn't done yet. "Jai, we have tech to build." the AI quickly nodded as it displayed itself on one of the blank monitors. Jr pulled up multiple blue prints, one being very familiar, set of bracelets. "Okay, so these control and regulate the electrical current within someone. It discharges anything higher than what the user has set in terms of voltage. Now, the average car battery is 12.6, every cell=2.1 volt." he let out very faint hum, as he continued to do the math and calculations of how powerful Surge could be, if he made a modified version of these bracelets to withhold Surge then they could possibly capture him and question him. Only thing was, Surge's attacks were like a lightning storm, thunderstorms can carry up to 100 million volts, without actual testing, he didn't know if he could actually make something that could stop him. Maybe slow him down but definitely not hold him.

As Igasho introduced himself to the Challenger sprawled on the couch, a loud clatter came from the other room. It sounded like when the Klikes had made dinner for him and their ninety-seven spawnlings. The clatter cut down as a dark-haired woman emerged from a doorway carrying a tray of food; she made a bee line for the table, but stopped short when she noticed Igasho. The tray carried itself the rest of the way as she blinked in surprise, but shortly recovered. She asked him who he was and what he was doing here. Igasho gave his name and explained that he was looking for allies for an upcoming conflict and Lux had brought him here to start. After Elani had prompted that the young man would probably be able to help and offered for him to follow her into the kitchen, Igasho politely declined and instead chose to sit cross-legged on the floor. He waited as Manny grabbed a bit of food.

When Manny explained he needed to recharge his battery, Igasho was surprised. He was sure that this boy was flesh and blood; the earth made their automatons so life-like, especially for the primitive technology he had seen. When Manny said that he just needed to drink a rockstar, Igasho gasped. He was apparently way off par this time. One of the members of this team drank human musicians in order to power back up. Maybe he would need to search for allies elsewhere. As Manny pulled out a can of his surprising power source from a clever hiding place and popped it open, Igasho changed his nose into a dog’s snout to get a whiff. It smelled awful, but not at all as the blood from Celeste’s clothes earlier.

Igasho reached out quickly, snatching the can out from Manny’s hand. Manny looked shocked; Igasho could not help himself though. The beverage spilled a bit as Igasho pulled it back. That was strange; this was just a carbonated beverage. This was not a rockstar at all. Igasho held it out to Manny, a sheepish look on his face, “I apologize. I thought you were drinking the blood of a human. I did not know that this was just a strangely named drink. It is strange to me that automatons from this time use carbonation to recharge.”

aeva could almost see his heart physically breaking with every word she said; it was a most glorious way to show him that all he had was what she and her King decided to give him. Naturally that was only how it was going at this moment, as humans were such difficult creatures when it came to matters of the heart; it wouldn't take much for him to go pursue this 'perfect' female of the Challengers hero group. It was a bit sad actually that humans were so easily swayed. But, of course, she was from a time where one did not take such things as love very lightly; courting was a very serious business back then. Not that she'd ever been courted by anyone other than Arthur. When one was thought to be engrossed in the Dark Arts but people didn't have enough proof or the guts to outright accuse the daughter of a wealthy, respected nobleman, people were often a little too frightened to send their sons to court. Not Arthur though. As a prince, he had courted her fearlessly and constantly, despite her status being a bit below his own; it had been a stunning but welcome surprise. "Any man would be lucky to snag such a rare gem as her," mused Maeva, her eyes trained on Katsumi, something undefinable glittering within their bright depths. Three... Two... One... The door to her shop opened and Katsumi turned around, his eyes landing on none other than Philip Rivers. A smirk curled her lips as her injured Blade reacted instantly, flinging a kunai straight at Philip's head, only to have the electrokinetic duck out of the way, the knife burying itself deep into sign across the street. She remained seated as Katsumi stood and darted out of the shop, after the man with Sid's face. Silly, silly boys; it was so hard to keep them from their natural tendencies. The Queen waited a few minutes, letting the fight truly commence before standing and brushing her hand down her front before walking out the door. Katsumi was not faring well, as expected, and Philip was about to kill off her failure of a Blade; there was a wall of lightning building between him and the small Asian, who was standing in obvious pain. A low chuckle escaped her as she exited the shop and both boys looked over at her as she tossed a small, coin-like object into the wall of lightning that Philip had been creating. It sucked in the electricity and dropped to the ground. "Now boys, lets not fight, not when we all have so much in common," she crooned, that smirk still curling her lips. "Katsumi, stop attacking your newest co-worker. This is Philip Rivers and while he does share the same face as the man you were initially hired to kill, he is a very different person. Now, why don't we all move inside; there is much to discuss." She stepped to the side, gesturing for them to enter the shop ahead of her. Once they had done so, she walked in after them, the door shutting and locking behind her. It was time to get down to business.

                                              Celia was utterly confused by what was going on. For starters, there was a blonde girl who had come out of nowhere and had securely attached herself Jack's face. The slight tumble she had taken, the sudden upheaval of her balance had not helped in making sure her brain was running as smoothly as it could be. She was however, aware enough to feel relief when Jack pushed the other girl away. This wasn't the appearance of his long-lost love, if anything Jack sounded a tad bit angry at her. This was further reinforced when Jack pushed her to the side to help Celia up. For an instant, she stared at his hand, until she realized that she was supposed to take it if she wanted to stand again. And she did, the ice wasn't the best of seats (it was rather cold and hard, as one would expect). She was about to smile, and then try to make a speedy escape with Jack, but the other girl only latched back onto Jack.

                                              Celia had never had the urge to slap another female as strongly as she did now. Jack clearly was not comfortable with the way she was touching him, but she kept on doing it anyway. Her question "Who are you?" came out rather snappish, perhaps because Celia was sick of dealing with BS. She definitely did not like this clingy blonde.

                                              When she responded back that she was Jack's girlfriend for a moment, Celia was horrified that she had just let a pretty boy play her for a fool. It felt like she had swallowed her tongue. Jack immediate denial, and the girls equally quick response did nothing to relieve her worries until Jack shook off the girl. He was clearly furious.

                                              Celia watched the rest of the exchange slightly weirded out. This Hana was clearly a bit... Unhinged. And Jack was obviously upset about her appearance and behavior. Actually she was surprised that the snowflakes coming down didn't turn into icicles. Why would someone follow their ex over an ocean? Just how loopy was Hana? That final “warning” of hers spoke in volumes about just how… Irrational… she was being. Celia didn’t respond to the implied “paws off, because he’s mine” that was practically dripping off her last statement, it’s not like it was any of her business now anyhow. As Hana stormed off, Celia crossed her arms in thought, then finally remarked “Wow.”

                                              Then Jack was apologizing to her about that whole scene. And it was nothing less than one. People who had been skating around them slowed down as their voices had climbed in volume (well, Hana’s mostly) to stare a bit at the little slice of drama that was going down. Celia reached out to rub Jack’s arm, trying to comfort him, he was clearly upset about Hana showing up. ”It’s alright. I can tell she’s kinda... Well she’s a bit of a b***h.”

                                              I guess everyone has a bit of crazy in them. Her more than others I guess. Celia shrugged at Jack. She knew that the whole little moment there wasn’t his fault, it looked like he had broken things off with her, and she was refusing (rather strongly) to accept this. She had been aware that there were people out there like that, but that was certainly the first time she had ever met one. She was just so irritating, and not to mention far too touchy with Jack for her liking.

                                              Celia brushed off a small pile of snow that had gathered on Jack’s shoulder while saying “Don’t worry about it, if you disappear suddenly, I’ll tell the police it was her. Celia smiled up at Jack, then reached up to place a light kiss on his cheek. She was still smiling when she leaned back from him, and then the reality of she had just done sunk in. Almost instantly, her face flushed an impressive shade of crimson. Celia stuttered out a half-formed apology while she attempted to make a wobbly escape on her skates.

                                              She had barely made it a foot when a chilled hand caught her own and pulled her back slightly. Celia peeked over her shoulder to see Jack smilingly slightly, an almost imperceptible flush of pink on his face.
“Oh no you don't; I can't let you go skating off by yourself. Can't risk some other guy snatching you away.” Then he winked at her. If she could have turned any redder, she would have, but instead she continued her stammering until she realized that her words were currently not functioning, and settled for staring at the ground.

She felt him shift slightly as he leaned down , but she couldn't bring herself to meet his gaze. When had he gotten so close to her? She could feel his breath on her face, or was it a cold breeze? Then a wintry mouth gently brushed against her cheek, as lightly as her own had touched his face a short time ago. Then a soft whisper,
“Thank you.” Why he was thanking her, she had no idea, but it caused yet even more blood to rush into her already over-saturated head, resulting in her promptly fainting.

Manny was too tired to register the surprise on Igasho's face when the 'porter mentioned recharging. Had he been more awake, he would have explained it to save the man some trouble. As it was, he simply wanted to have the drink and get charged back up. The gasp from Igasho was missed as well, for the same reasons. It was in this state that Manny would get severely hurt, at best, if he tried to teleport. It hadn't happened to him yet, but it was something bound to occur if he was not careful. A quick glance at him might suggest he didn't pay much attention and was rather carefree, but the truth was he was constantly paying attention to everything... when he wasn't this tired.

It surprised him when the drink was yanked out of his hands by Igasho, who looked at it strangely before handing it back and apologizing. Blood of a Human? automaton... yea, no way was this guy staying by himself tonight, the world would eat him alive. Manny took the drink back with a nice smile and a small nod. "No worries, it's not easy being in a new place. Rockstar is the name of the drink. It was named after a famous group of people to make it sound more appealing." he explained before taking another sip.

"Also, I am not an automaton, 'recharge my batteries' is an expression for being tired and needing to rest." he added. "So I was just saying I need to rest for a bit, then I'd be happy to help." he finished with a smile.

They continued to chat pleasantly for a bit, before Manny offered Igasho space at his place, so the man from out of town wouldn't be on his own and out of his element. Igasho agreed, and once Manny was rested enough, he teleported them both his place.

{T}he coin flipped through the air; it absorbed the ball of electricity Philip had been preparing. As the coin landed, his mouth dropped. The electricity was still in the coin as though it was some ridiculous battery. Momentarily forgetting about the women and her failure, Philip reached down and picked up the coin, drawing the power back out of the coin. He looked at Maeva as he slid it into his pocket; he took her lack of comment as consent.

Katsumi had been about to attempt something, anything to stop his death, but he knew nothing that he could do in his state. It had been stupid to attack; it was reaction to try to kill his target when he had surprise on his side. The thing that he regretted most was going back to his villainous ways. He would never get the chance to fix things… Maeva then walked out.

Maeva flipped a coin-like object and the powerful ball simply disappeared. Katsumi’s life was saved; He knew what to do now. What she said next made him feel stupider than he already did. This man wasn’t even Sid; the man was an electrokinetic if his lightning ball had been any sign. What did she mean by coworker? He followed Maeva inside so he could learn what this was about.

{P}hilip chuckled as his new co-worker’s face showed just how dumb he was; it was too good. Maeva then stated they should go in to discuss things. He was interested in learning why this man was trying to kill his twin. As they walked inside, Philip reached forward and poked Katsumi in the back, releasing a small jolt.

Katsumi jumped. What was that? He turned around and saw Philip smirking, his arm reached out, one finger forward. Katsumi’s hand drifted towards his weapon pouch, but he had been told to quit; he knew better than to start this fight again anyways. He would prove himself better in a different method. That smug b*****d.

{T}he pair walked further into the store as Maeva locked the door behind them. Philip let loose a laugh as Katsumi couldn’t even get back at him for the shock. He was truly a failure just as Maeva had said he would be. He knew what Maeva wanted him to do, and he would be happy to do just that.

The Asian didn’t like this situation one bit. Maeva had brought in someone who was very unstable; she was trying to get rid of him just because of his loss today. He would show them he still had what he needed. Katsumi said to Maeva, “I know I didn’t do as well as you planned today, but I have something in mind that will more than make up for it. This revolution is in need of a heavy hitter, and I have just the person in mind. Tomorrow, I will setup a situation to gain a new ally for this movement.”

{E}verything this man did seemed to make Philip laugh. The pissed off stare that the other man gave him only seemed to provoke his laughter further. Finally Philip got ahold of himself. He then said to his new “co-worker,” ”Listen, Kat. I guess you just don’t get what’s going on. I am a heavy hitter. I’ve been sent in to fix your screw ups. Tomorrow, I’m going to be doing something truly worth our time. I am going to wear down this town’s under-appreciated heroes. When the time comes for fire to rain down, there will be no one to put it out.”

The pair stared each other down, each determined to surpass the other in their own way.
