◞&. x She does display a subtle cunning streak by pulling the wool over people’s eyes and making them
◞&. x underestimate her by playing the role of a follower and purposefully avoiding taking on leadership
◞&. x positions and having involvement in major decision making, interjecting only when she believes a
◞&. x decision will pose an outrageous risk to her or anyone else’s survival.
◞&. x Well acquainted with putting her life on the line, whether it is balancing on a tightrope or flying
◞&. x through the air while suspended on a long string of silk, there is no denying that this woman has
◞&. x nerves of steel.
◞&. x Each and every day, she teeters on the line between life and death, so it isn’t unusual for her to
◞&. x willingly place herself in a dangerous position if she is confident she has the skills to overcome the
◞&. x obstacle.
◞&. x Need to get somewhere you can’t reach without risking imminent death? She’s your girl.
◞&. x Quick-witted and resourceful, Élodie works well under pressure. She will assess the situation and will
◞&. x find ways to utilize her surroundings to meet her goals swiftly, whether it be to reach an ordinarily
◞&. x inaccessible place or escape a sticky situation.
◞&. x That being said, it’s prudent to remember that she isn’t conditioned for fighting, and if it ever comes
◞&. x down to it, she’s more likely to dash out of a walker attack than risk her neck in a fight.

◞&. x Born in New York, New York to Laurent Chevalier, an American-born Frenchman and trapeze
◞&. x artist, and Somerset, an acrobat, Élodie’s upbringing was anything but ordinary.
◞&. x Both of parents performed in Mirage, a traveling circus performance group, and were well off.
◞&. x Élodie would travel with them throughout the country, and was home schooled by an accompanying
◞&. x tutor.
◞&. x As a result of constantly moving from place to place, she didn’t really make any lifelong friendships.
◞&. x Her failure to make spectacular grades was in part because of her greater interest in her parents’
◞&. x craft.
◞&. x She would frequent their shows and watch them from backstage, completely in awe of all the
◞&. x performers in their glittering costumes and seemingly inhuman performances.
◞&. x She was eleven when her parents began to notice her interest in their work was more than just
◞&. x childish amusement.
◞&. x In their and her spare time, they taught her the art of using movement and balance to defy
◞&. x gravity with effortless grace.
◞&. x As the years went by, her days grew longer and more tiring, and her summers were spent training
◞&. x endlessly, but there was a certain thrill she reaped from the experience. She found her passion.
◞&. x Once her compulsory education was complete, all her time and energy was focused solely on honing
◞&. x her skill, forgoing a college education.
◞&. x At age twenty-two, Élodie joined Mirage, and her parents retired thereafter, returning to their home in
◞&. x New York City,
◞&. x For three years, she traveled from state to state, entertaining crowds with striking performances, and it
◞&. x seemed she was living the life she always desired.
◞&. x It was only when they arrived at Boulder, Colorado that her world was turned on its head.
◞&. x Élodie was staying at the St. Julien Hotel, as the troupe was scheduled to perform in the city for six
◞&. x weeks, when the outbreak happened.
◞&. x As the city was placed under quarantine, their performances were canceled, and they were unable to
◞&. x leave the city.
◞&. x Unbeknownst to her, her hotel roommate, Lydia—a contortionist and close friend—was bitten
◞&. x by an infected as a small, panicked mob broke out in the hotel lobby.
◞&. x Killed Lydia with a broken wine bottle after being attacked in their room.
◞&. x She hasn’t spoken to either of her parents since the outbreak and has no indication that either of
◞&. x them is alive.

RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER CHARACTERS

⋄ Has a chip on his shoulder the size of your grandma's a**. Thinks everyone in the world
wants to hurt him or use him or is just a piece of s**t, and acts accordingly.
⋄ Makes crude jokes when people act romantic or like decent human beings. Can't comprehend
things like caring (or doesn't want to) and as such is number one moment killer.
⋄ Actually has a lot of feelings of self hate and inadequacy bottled up inside. Takes out all his
anger on the walking dead and it can be kind of terrifying when he's wailing on something that's
obviously dead for good already.
⋄ Very good at surviving without much food or putting on a show. He knows how to
manipulate people into giving him things by talking them up and making them feel big.
⋄ Is genuinely terrified of becoming a walker (doesn't realize he's immune yet) and is thus
relatively careful, even though he kind of wants to rip them limb from limb and pretend they're
his foster parents woops.
⋄ Just wants to be loved and part of a family. As such he becomes extremely possessive and
jealous of anyone who gives him the time of day and pretends to mean it (whether through
platonic care or romantic affection).
⋄ Hates do-gooders and people who go out of their way to help others. Thinks they’re all lying
bastards and is envious of their sunny outlook on life.
⋄ Has trouble killing young or small walkers, particularly young boys.
⋄ Generally is a pretty messed up person who hates everyone and doesn’t trust anyone.

⋄ Carter’s mom got teen pregnant at sixteen and tried to raise him without help from her
parents or any intelligent adult. He was taken away and put into the system at ten
because his mom was going off the rails of a crazy train.
⋄ He bounced around foster homes and was never permanently adopted because of his
bad behavior. A lot of parents assumed he had fetal alcohol syndrome, or was just
damaged goods. Either way, he was already screwed up and all the moving didn’t help.
⋄ Eventually he was put into a wreck of a foster home that collected kids for the benefits.
The parental figures in that household were pretty much a textbook case for the seedy
underbelly of the foster care system.
⋄ Carter was twelve years old and grew up loathing all adult figures. He had one good
friend who had a madhouse family, but they actually loved each other. He’d go over there
for pancakes each Sunday and they were the ones who reported him missing - a week
after he’d run away.
⋄ He’d already hitchhiked out of the State by that time, and that was pretty much his life
up until the outbreak hit. He’d couch surf, sell if someone hooked him up, turn tricks if
they didn’t look too seedy, and just generally be poster boy for the dredges of society. He
didn’t go to high school past sixteen, and it shows.
⋄ He was hitchhiking through the States again when the infection hit; the trucker dropped him
off in Boulder before the quarantine, saying he wanted to get back to his family. Carter ended
up trapped in the city sleeping behind a coffee shop - he pushed some guy into a horde to get
away when the infection started to show, and he was on his own before he met up with the big
group.
