It's funny my friend ("purist" wink scorns mainstream indie
But I like it - Monsters and Men, Ellie Goulding, Imagine Dragon, Feist... it's an interesting subgenre. Your thoughts?

im definitely an imagine dragons fan. it was inevitable for those guys. their music and sound was just too good. That Radioactive song turned the tide for them forever. IMPOSSIBLE song not to like.

I agree with you, it was actually my friend that recommended me to them, I think my fav song is Bleeding Out

Band of Horses is amazing, too, though I don't think they're too mainstream. I've always liked Panic! At The Disco and Fall Out Boy, as well. Especially the new stuff they've put out, it's great.

INDIE IS NOT A GENRE

it is music solely categorized by how an artist's music is distributed.

Feist is an indie musician, although receiving mainstream success, her record label Arts & Crafts is independent. Therefore, she is an indie artist.

I hate mainstream indie music. I rather like music that stay 'indie'.
