☂ Mood : Content and a Bit Bored │☂ Location : Out and About Havencrest │☂ Company : Citizens │☂ Job : City Patrol │

It was a bit after noon, and so far there was nothing out of the ordinary, which was good, but rather boring for the water mage. Yes, the fact that the miscreants of Havencrest seemed to be behaving for once. True, Adelaide had to stop and help some people who needed some minor help, but all in all patrol was rather easy. She was rather tempted to go back to the child with the cute kittens she saw earlier, or maybe even go grab a bite to eat even though she was still technically on patrol duty. She couldn't very well leave her post for her own personal gain, but Adelaide was growing restless and she hoped that someone would come and relieve her already.

She paused in the middle of her patrol route and stretched to try and relieve her restlessness, but all it did was make Adelaide feel like she was slacking off. The sound of someone clearing their throat behind her had the water mage flinch and abruptly whip around to face the person with her sword unsheathed and ready to attack. It may have been an overreaction, but she was an A Rank guild member who was startled and the person coming up to her should have known better. When it registered to Adelaide that the person who startled her was a lower ranked person from her own guild, she was mortified. Sheathing her sword, Adelaide bombarded the man with apologies,"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! I didn't think-! I'm so, so, so sorry! You caught me off-guard and I almost-! I'M SORRY!"

Before she could continue to overwhelm him with more apologies, he cut her off, "It's fine. Really. I'm just here to take over the route. You can go." Adelaide gave him a sheepish smile and then vacated the street as fast as she could, averting her eyes to the bricks below her feet to avoid the possible stares of the civilians who had probably seen her little display.

Once she was a good distance away from the source of her embarrassment, Adelaide came to a stop and brushed off the dust and dirt on her skirt. Hopefully the man would forget about it if they ran into each other back in the guild hall. However before she could linger in embarrassment any longer, Adelaide's stomach decided to let her know that she had better find some nourishment or she would have to be dealing with her stomach trying to eat itself. "Okay maybe I should eat first, then I can go pick up my pay for my patrol and check for another job." She mumbled to herself as she glanced around the street she was on for a place to eat.

A bakery a little bit up the street happened to look the most appealing out of the three eateries available on the street, so Adelaide happily made her way to it. She opened the door and the bell above it chimed to signal her entry, but the girl didn't automatically make her way up to the counter to order just yet. The display case primarily showed that it was a bakery, but the menu plastered on the wall over the worker's head showed that it also doubled as a cafe. Most of the food looked rather appetizing to Adelaide, but a stew and small loaf of sourdough sounded more appealing than anything else to her. Lucky for her, they actually had what she wanted, so with her order in mind, she went up the the counter and politely gave her order. She also put a rather large tip in the tip jar as she was told the cost of her food.

Once the food was in her hand, Adelaide made her way to an empty table near a window and sat down to eat.

▐▐ █ Personality : Although her looks and general poker face makes Andromeda seem scary and unapproachable, she's actually quiet friendly. She tends to try to make her friend's or the person she's interacting with comfortable to try and avoid awkwardness. If she knows the person well, Andy is able to pick up on their tells and react accordingly to them. While not the most expressive person (facially or vocally), she can make her moods known with her blunt demeanor and her patience. Andromeda hates to "burden" people with her own problems, and will stubbornly try to solve them on her own, but if bugged enough about it she'll begrudgingly accept help.

▐▐ █ Biography : Andromeda is youngest of two children (by a year).She grew up with a relatively normal childhood (sans the one or two instances where her brother decided to do something dumb), and is rather happy with her family. Once she hit high school, she started to dress in a rather "scary" way to toe the line of her school's dress code much to the dismay of her parents and amusement of her brother. While many expected her to cause trouble due to her looks, Andromeda managed to keep out of trouble with the authorities. That's not to say that she didn't retaliate when provoked, she just knew how to keep herself out of trouble.

Recently, Andy had given her parents quite the scare by nearly starving for no reason. Her increased food intake and rather closed off behavior is beginning to worry her parents...

► About the Powers...

▐▐ █ Powers : Supernatural Speed

▐▐ █ Abilities :
XXXXXX●Super Speed → Andy is able to move at speeds exceeding that of a normal human. She can move so fast that the world around her can run in slow motion to her if she runs fast enough.
XXXXXX● Accelerated Vision → Due to her super speed, her brain has developed for her to track and see incredibly fast moving objects in order to deal with obstacles in her path when she runs.
XXXXXX● Enhanced Stamina → She can't get fatigued as easily as a normal person, but she can still get fatigued if she overworks herself.
XXXXXX● Accelerated Metabolism → With super speed comes a super metabolism. Her accelerated metabolism makes it hard for weight, illnesses and injuries to stick since it would burn the weight rather fast and speed up the healing process.

▐▐ █ Drawbacks :
XXXXXX● Accelerated Metabolism → While it may come in handy for it's accelerated healing, it's not as cracked up as it sounds. Her metabolism means that Andy has to eat a lot more than a normal human. Her body is digesting food for energy faster than it can settle in her stomach, and if she can't keep up, Andy could die of starvation.
XXXXXX● Maneuverability → Moving fast doesn't mean that Andy can pull off high speed maneuvers. Tight corners and stopping on a dime can be rather tricky for her, and often lead to her eating the pavement more than she'd like, but she's working on it. If she has a heads up on it, she can prepare and possibly pull off those maneuvers, but not at the moment.

As this Roleplay was created by Noir the Confused, JoltSpeed, and Libberated SiN. Let it be known that whatever these three say goes. They are the rulers of this roleplay. Also these rules are just a formality at this point.

You know it, you follow it. We won't get into detail about this rule because it's very much a policy that everyone is obligated to follow. We also advise you to keep explicit details to a minimum and be friendly to your fellow role-players.

Posting - - - - -

As this roleplay is semi-literate to literate, posts should have a minimum of two paragraphs. This is the minimum, not the maximum, so feel free to write as much as you want, but try not to write a novel. Grammar and spell-checking are your friends, as a legible post is a good post. We get that sometimes mistakes will happen, so get to know the edit button. The edit button is now your lovely wife in this roleplay.

No bright blinding colors. We'd prefer colors that are readable and don't blind the eyes. If you have to highlight it to read it, then it is not acceptable. If you're concerned about a color within the palette, feel free to ask about it.

They don't need to be flashy. Have a picture, character name and who're you with so we know who you are and who you're talking to. Feel free to add additional designs like quotes, themes songs, and symbols. Please remember to quote or tip other role-players to get their attention so you don't have to wait a few days for them to post. If you can't come up with a layout, I'm sure one of the other role-players are willing to make a layout for you.

Limits on your character's powers!? That's right, try not to be able to destroy the entire city with a snap of your fingers. No Time Manipulation, Life Draining, Power Stealing/Borrowing, No instant-kill powers. You HAVE to have limits, you are not a god, but a human with inhuman power.

What on earth? - - - - -

Welcome to the beautiful city of Lakeport, you are a highschool student who has suddenly found out that they have super-human abilities. You haven't the slightest clue where this power came from, though you certainly don't seem to be the only one with them. Other teenagers from the same school have begun roaming around the city with powers of their own. According to the news, this isn't happening anywhere else in the world. According to some of your fellow classmates, it appears to be impossible to leave the city. At least if you have powers. Nobody really understands why at this point, and some really don't care. Some have begun to run around and abuse their powers, while others have decided to become vigilantes of sorts. Some just went into hiding.

Who are you in this mess?

▐▐ █ Personality : Conrad comes across as calm and easy going to the people hiring him and newer members of the Company. He feels that letting things anger or annoy him makes it easier for him to mess up his alchemy, so he tends to let bygones be bygones. Of course the only exception to that is people holding onto Laelon's view of Mages, he will go out of his way to be outright hostile to them. He's also a bit of a rebel when it comes to people telling him what not to do, because if it comes off as a dare to him he will do it. His demeanor and confidence in his alchemy may have people thinking he's a confident person, but he's really not. Growing up thinking he wasn't a mage, having burn scars, and the fact that he couldn't understand the feeling of being attracted to anyone like his peers could left a blow on his self-confidence even if he doesn't say or show it. He will support and love his friends with all he has to keep them from having low-self esteem like he does.

▐▐ █ Biography : While Conrad was born in Laelon and lived his early childhood there, most of his life was spent living in Nuizaar as a refugee with his parents.

When Conrad was born, Laelon mages were mostly left to their own devices, which meant that his mage parents were left to raise him in peace. Unlike his parents, Conrad showed no outward signs of being a mage, disappointing his parents in a way. Yes, they loved him, but they felt that with no magic, they wouldn't be able to connect with him as easily when he got old enough to choose a profession. However they raised him as best as they could, until the Laelon Empire suddenly started to kill off their mages. With the threat of death hanging over their heads if they chose to stay in Laelon, the Brauer family fled to seek refuge in the neutral Nuizaar Republic.

The day before they were able to escape Laelon's boarders, they had set up camp to regain their energy. Sadly they were found by some patrolling soldiers who decided to set fire to their camp while they slept. The soldiers didn't bother to stay to see if the Brauers died in the fire. Luckily, Conrad's family were able to escape it, though not unscathed. All of them suffered severe burn wounds and none knew how to create a burn salve. After that encounter, the Brauers continued the rest of their journey to Nuizar non-stop.

Upon their arrival in Nuizaar, the Brauers were seen to by a healer before being assigned jobs to do for their refugee status. Due to his young age and his non-mage status, Conrad was assigned to help out in the apothecary's fields to tend to the plants. The plants used in alchemical research fascinated the young boy, prompting him to ask many questions on their properties to the alchemists in charge of the apothecary. His innocent queries gained the attention of one of the alchemists, who took him as an apprentice as soon as he turned twelve.

Conrad, as it turned out, was in fact a mage, though not one suited for flashier magics. Instead he was more suited to alchemy, as his naturally passive magic made his alchemy much stronger. Once he reached Journeyman status at the age of 16, Conrad chose to explore the rest of Acora. It was then he was invited to join the Company of the Crimson Lions.

xxxxx Most people would describe Mattie as "a poor blind girl who needs help a lot", since they choose not to get to know her, but people who do know her as a "little s**t". Mattie lacks a verbal filter, often saying whatever is on her mind and coming across as very rude. She doesn't mean to offend people (unless they patronize her), it's just hard for her to not think out loud. Even though she doesn't like people making a big deal of her blindness, Mattie doesn't shy from using it as an excuse for being somewhere she isn't supposed to be.

xxxxx Mattie was born to a couple of merchants in one of the Were Oases. She doesn't really recall much of her early childhood, but she feels that perhaps it was for the best since her parents told her that she could see back then (not that she believes it). What she does remember is learning to read braille and learning to embrace more of her inner animal than most children her age. Most of her memories are of learning to deal with adults treating her like she was made of glass, or of her peers leaving her out of games because she "couldn't see anything anyways". She dealt with it the best she could.

As she got older, she wanted to learn magic like most of her peers, but her parents and everyone else in the Oasis refused to teach her. Mattie begged a passing traveler who used wind magic to teach her. At first, the man refused to do so, using her blindness as an excuse not to. Mattie didn't let that stop her from bugging him. She prodded and prodded until she wore him down. He taught her the bare minimum verbally, and left once he saw that she got the hang of it. Mattie was left to her own devices on how to use her magic, so she decided to use it to help her figure out where things are and to push things out of her way.

Her usage of air magic to help her with her disability had greatly improved her control of the element and had gotten the attention of a Perditus Academy Recruiter. The recruiter felt that with her "mastery" of an element with little instruction, that she would do well in learning another magic at the academy. Having nothing better to do and wanting to get away from her overbearing but well-meaning parents, Mattie agreed to attend.

Mattie was starting to regret taking up the recruiters offer to attend Perditus Academy for the Arcane Arts already. She may not be able to see, but that didn't mean she was stupid, because clearly the recruiter thought she wouldn't notice the crunching of snow beneath her feet. Okay, maybe she could have mistaken it for gravel, but the freezing cold temperatures and the fact that she can feel cold, wet stuff falling from above gave the snow away. Her grip on the recruiters arm tightened to a painful degree as Mattie pretended to stumble over a rock.

"Miss Anguis, are you alright? We're right in front of the House Wing, do you need me to get someone to carry you to your dorm?" Well that sounded really patronizing, and she was really tempted to punch the man, but she really needed to count the steps to her room and make note of possible land marks.

"I'm fine," she curtly replied, "but can you, like, not be a patronizing a*****e and just guide me to my dorm? Just, like, tell me if there's stairs or I'm gonna run into something." She ignored the indignant sputters from the recruiter and gently probed the ground in front of her with her cane. It hit a slightly raised... step? Go with step. She was lucky that she did a cursory probe, because the recruiter made no mention of the step as he roughly guided her into the warm house wing.

One... two flights of thirty steps. Super. The fact that she was on the third floor in what was called the Silver Hall, was met with mixed feelings on Mattie's part. On one hand, heat rises, so she's happy to be on the warmest floor, but on the other hand, she had to go up two flights of stairs. At least the stairs have railing, so she'll be okay. I think... From the stairs, Mattie counted forty steps before she and the recruiter came to a stop. "Well, this is your room and your stuff is already in there!"He announced with a proud tone. "The Cafeteria is on the same floor as the Teal Hal- I mean, it's on the first floor. Breakfast runs from six-thirty to eight, lunch is at noon and ends at one and dinner is from six to eight. Okay? Okay. I've got to go now, don't hesitate to ask for help from older students!" With his little lecture over, Mattie felt him pry his arm out of her hold, place a key in her now empty right hand and heard his footsteps fade away from her.

Her face shifted into what her mother told her was a pout as she tucked her cane under her right arm, reached out with her left hand and tried to feel for the door knob to her room. "Wow. Rude much? He didn't even tell me where my door knob was," she muttered as her hand clasped around empty air for a while before finding the knob. She ran her hand over the knob and once she found the opening for a key spent the next minute trying to unlock the door. "I know what I'll do! I'll, like, report him or something. Tell the officials that he left me stranded somewhere. ...Yeah, that's what I'll do."

Her muttered plots of retribution came to a halt once she heard the satisfying tumble of her door unlocking. "Oh yeah! I, Mattie, the Master of Unlocking, have opened the door in less than five minutes! Dad would be so proud!" She then pulled the key out of the lock, tucked it into her pocket and opened the door. Mattie transferred her can back into her left hand and walked three steps into the room before her cane met something with a thud. When she reached out to feel what it was, she discovered that it was her suitcase. "Oh yay! My favorite pastime! Unpacking" Sarcasm spilled from her lips as she picked up the suitcase and created a burst of wind to get a feel for where her bed and dressers could be located. Feedback gave her a vague placement of a bed in the right hand corner of her room against a wall with a medium sized mass in front of it, and what seemed to be a desk on the left hand side of her room. She made her way over to the mass in front of the bed and inspected it. It felt like wood, it had raised sections facing the direction of the wall the door was on and had knobs. This was obviously a dresser. With this discovery, Mattie set to work with unpacking.
