It's too cold outsideFor angels to fly
An angel will die
Covered in white
Closed eye
And hoping for a better life
This time, we'll fade out tonight
Straight down the line
Ava gave a pretty pout at his words. “Cecil, you know this is not entirely true. I cannot touch you, nor can you touch me without causing us both pain. If this were not the case, you know I wouldn’t be wearing gloves,” she replied gently. She toyed with gloves on her hands, having not yet removed them.
Hearing his statement, a bright smile played across her lips. “Darling, you are terrible!” She scolded playfully as he spoke of allowing her to touch him. She wagged her finger at him as if he were a boy who was getting into something he shouldn’t be.
Ava watched him as he moved from his seat to move behind her. Her eyes were full of curiosity as she tried to figure out what he was doing. When he leaned down close to her, she pressed her wings firmly against her back to keep them from fluttering out and touching him. She wished the pureness of her species would fade away from her already. She’d been a fallen for hundreds of years at this point. Granted she had lost quite a bit of her holy powers she still held enough to prevent her from ever being close to someone like Cecil.
When he whispered into her ear she instinctively leaned her head to the side. She sighed softly as she noted the warmth of his breath on her ear. Ava felt the cool weight of the necklace against her skin as he clasped the jewels around her neck. Pulling off a glove, she reached up to touch the necklace. Looking down, she smiled brightly at it. “C'est si beau!” she exclaimed, using his preferred language. Standing, she turned to him and placed her gloved hand on his cheek. “Thank you, Cecil. I love it,” she whispered softly to him. “You didn’t need to. It’s so… extravagant.”
