As for melee, I'd choose a Katana.
As for a gun, I'd choose an M16A1, or probably a Remington shotgun.
Maybe a mace, if I could grab one from a museum or something, those are some good weapons.

Couple things to consider when choosing a weapon.

First: the best weapon to have in a zombie apocalypse is the one you have at any given time. A $5000 katana is useless if it's 30 feet away in your sleeping bag when you're attacked. So there's that.

I'd keep about three weapons on me.

Long range: .22 long rifle. Relatively quiet, ammo is small so a lot of ammo can be carried with ease, and .22 rounds are notorious for ricocheting around inside a skull, which deals considerable damage.

Mid range: Sharpened spade shovel- shovel that comes to a point, allows a lot of force to be centered on it. Sharpening makes it even more deadly. Also, most tools are made with hardened steel and are built for hard work, so them breaking is kind of unlikely.

Close range: Trench spike, ice pick, phillips screwdriver. All basically the same idea: A spike with a handle. Simple enough.

A crossbow and a knife will do. crossbow for long-range and when the zombie is near i'll just stab their heads with my ..

if there's a horde of zombie and it's just me that's another story.. well, better start running for my life! xd
