So I've been on this site for about a year or two now and I still dont really talk to anybody lol. Its not just this site but even MMO's like Aion I only talk to my RL friends. I usually solo everything because I cant work up the courage or whatever to get a group(it usually just seems like nobody wants to be in a party with me) I'm 20yo and I have quite a few friends IRL that I hang out with on a weekly basis. So... is there some kind of "rite of passage" or something that I need to go through to make friends online? Is it just me? Idk.. maybe because I'm shy but.... could someone help me? Thankies :3 :3 :3 whee

I hope you don't play healer.
In MMOs, there's nothing wrong with sticking to partying with IRL friends, if anything it helps keeps things consistent, and it's much easier to divvy up the loots. On the other hand, if you want to make friends with some other players, my best advice is to hang out in high traffic areas and just try to get in groups with random people. If you all work well together and chat it up, send friend requests and make sure to contact them later.
Guilds help too, if they're active and around your level. Too high and they'll often be too busy to work with you, too low and it might just be too boring to bring yourself down to their areas. Scattered is best if you like having a range though.

I'm rambling again.

Thanks :3 and no i dont play healer i'm usually the tank. I'll look into doing the guild thing. I can never bring up the courage to talk to random people though... I'm not sure why. lol

First, cool, tanks are sweet. I play support classes, usually healers, so much respects to you.
Second, yes, Guilds are a great way to get into the happenings with random people.
Third, you say that you can never bring up the courage to talk to random people, but I'm pretty random and you're talking to me.
Probably not the same thing, but still kinda the same thing. Difference is, in-game we'd probably be killing stuff right now.

haha you are right! I guess its really figuring out what to say at the start of the conversation. Thats what usually gets me. I pondered for about 5 mins before actually posting on the forum, and yes the great glory of killing things and stuff! :3 I could never play a support class.. when it comes to games I'm all "ATTACK" maybe because IRL i'm an overthinker haha
