Man I used to create threads for GCD almost every week XD
but now I barely even visit.
The only time I usually hang in the GCD anymore is for the
RIG item lists. >>;

I think it's because most of the really interesting threads
in the GCD have been done...and no one really has anything to
talk about anymore. XD GCD is so slooooooooooow now.
Not to mention most of the threads have become repeats.

That's the curse of GCD. It kinda depends on Gaia to do something new and exciting to get interesting discussion going on. If it's just the same old, we're bound to get repeats and offtopic.

Yes, god. I live in such an unfortunate time zone that I used to stay up till 3am or something just to see the EI report. The RIGs don't really have the same excitement in them.

I actually just came back to Gaia a few days ago. I've been lurking in the aquarium thread on and off, but I haven't been very active since 2010 or so. I think the last time I was truly active was the Zurg invasion, maybe the Halloween following that too. The biggest shock to me is the item prices. Items that I have been hoarding for years are suddenly work a fraction of what I paid for them originally.

The eyes look much more smaller than they used to be. I really like the options that I see. I don't remember how to restart my avatar though. dramallama

I also used to be a GCDer "back in the day". I was also gone for about 4 years.
I came back to see what was new, and found out I'm addicted to RIGs, so I spent 95% of my time on Gaia opening rigs and selling the items on the marketplace. The other 5%, I lurk the forums and play with my avatar. I will admit that it has taken me a long time to re-familiarize myself with all things Gaia, but I think I nearly have the hang of it now.
Still trying to get back into posting in the forums though.

I noticed that on a few threads made by new faces, people almost always get pure -'s

Anyways, I'm on and off again with the site. I used to be an exchanger, then cb'er then C&Q' thread goer. Every time I come back, I have a different home forum. Now, its a mix of those 3, plus a bit of lurking in the GCD. 3nodding

Took me a few days to get a hang of all the changes so its cool emotion_yatta

Back when gaia wasn't the confusing mess it is now, s**t. I've been gone gone for about 4 years, save for a few times I'd log in and look around, get confused and leave again. Now I hang out in the cb and gd. I remember back when I used to get on we'd hate those two places, but eh. So does anyone remember yours truly? Have you ever left gaia, come back and been lost as hell? What do you yourselves do on here now?

Don't worry about it, OP. There are a lot of us who wander by Gaia and the GCD once in awhile for "old times' sake", stay for a bit and then wander away again.

It doesn't seem to be an unusual thing at all. (And yes. I do it myself... I come back about twice a year to look at the new items and play around with my avi a bit. I'll never be a regular again, but there's no reason not to tinker when the mood strikes.)

I've never left Gaia long enough for changes to the site itself to confuse me but...

I popped into the GCD for the first time in a while tonight and I'm just all "who are these people!? gonk "

I think that's what I find hardest to swallow. It's hard to break back into a community after it's turned over to a new generation.
