i know a dude who's gf broke up with him because he wasn't serious enough for her.
you can work on it, but it's who you are. if it bugs her, then well she needs to learn to deal. you shouldn't have to change who you are or become lame just to please someone else.

it's not like you have to be serious at all. my aunt and uncle couldn't even be serious at her mother's funeral. it's fun biggrin
