I was watching V for Vendetta GD and I'm Simply curious if you think that in the modern age with all of our internet and 24 hour news cycles, that a dystopian society could form in the U.S./U.K./ and the like?

Don't just come in and say Iran or something please, I'm talking about the North America and Western Europe for the most part.

it would take time. the whole USA may not go into a dystopian state, but I can see parts. For example:Hurricane Katrina. Although temporary, there was no source of clean water, electricity, and little food.

now put a Katrina situation somewhere more affluent. Say California finally gets the biggest earthquake in a Century. Power would be lost, no clean water. I can see Katrina happening in Cali, but there would be more people involved because California is a more populous state.
