Meriadoc I can identify with him being almost a shadow caregiver rather than Sam's outright status. He like most Hobbits are much more than they appear. While I do applaud all the Hobbits for what they contributed to the Fellowship. I believe its time Merry gets his dues for his bravery, tenacity, intelligence, and his ability to perceive far sooner than most have acknowledge it's presence.

I say take your bow Meriadoc Brandybuck your time has come.

I like Frodo because of the sacrifice he made, though he didn't have it in him in the end to destroy the ring.

For me it's Frodo plain and simple of course I love all of the hobbits especially Sam who holds a special place in my heart too. But Frodo is it for me both the physical and mental struggle he went through, he fought so hard. That he reached mount doom itself before finally losing himself to the ring's influence speaks Volumes about Frodo's sheer will he was utterly spent by the time they got there. I felt so much pride for him as he tried to climb the mountain but couldn't physically do it himself from being so exhausted, that he got so damn far carrying it is just special in my opinion

Of course Sam is equally a hero and responsible but Frodo's struggle just resonated with me that little bit more.

I adore Merry so much. He's the mastermind of the hobbits, he's the only one that truly wanted to go out and fight, and he becomes BFFs with my other favorite character, Eowyn.

I think Sam might be my second favorite, because he's probably the gutsiest. Without Sam, Frodo would not have been anywhere.
