Currently, Burn is particualrly in need of some more crew members. Being a crew member for Burn definitely has its perks; most notably, our high member count of over 30,000, & the fact that I pay crew members for their services every few months or so (pay varies from person to person based on their performance, & ranges from about 250k to over 1 mil. Interested? If so, wonderful! Just fill out the application form & PM it to me [elyzia].

For the time being at least, Burn is affiliating with any & every guild that wants to. If you'd like to affiliate your guild (or thread, for that matter) with us, please PM me with either a 200x40 or 88x31 sized banner &, of course, the code for it. If you don't currently have a banner that's either one of those two sizes, you can still become affiliates with us; we'll provide a link to your guild in our affiliates thread in place of a graphic.

Hello, ladies & gents! :3 I'm elyzia (or Kayla, if you're feeling less formal), & I'm the captain of a guild known as Burn .
I created this thread to help increase awareness of the guild, particularly amongst other guild owners & Gaians searching to find the right guild for them. This thread offers a (somewhat) brief overview of what Burn is all about & has to offer. Enjoy! xD

This is a guild that really cares about the person behind the pixilated image that constitutes what a synthetic, 2D, sub-alternate reality has deemed an "avatar". This is a guild that prides itself on welcoming & embracing what’s real… this is a guild that knows what it truly means to get away from the rarely broken aesthetic, substance-less surface of Gaia. We want substance; we want real life… We want to be a place where people can be themselves; where people can make real, true friends, where people can be cared about as people; as the true, raw, quirky person they are. This is a guild in which free speech, controversy, & raw truth are guiding principles.

This is a guild that really cares about your avatar of pixels, contextualized; & which really cares about this synthetic, 2D, sub-alternate world of the World Wide Web that we're all currently gifting with our time. This is a guild that cares about your fake money. We have many opportunities for you to receive free gold/items, from all sorts of "charity for all" threads to contests in which you can utilize all sorts of talents or can win at random. We also offer all sorts of resources & advice to help you become independently "wealthy" & master any feature of Gaia that you wish. This is a guild in which generosity with our free gold, “donating”, & offering many contests with mega-big prizes are guiding features.

This is a guild that blends together the seemingly contradictory. This is a guild that successfully & smoothly fuses Reality & Cyberspace, & incorporates everything in between.

This is a guild for everyone, on anything; & hopefully, in time, everything.

This guild's name was decided upon completely spontaneously & carries no meaning, save to denote this guild.

If you would like to affiliate your guild, mini-shop, or quest thread, please PM me (elyzia) with the code to a banner advertising your guild/thread that's either 200x40 or 88x31 in size. Please use one of the banners advertising Burn that can be found later on (if the banner you'd like us to use is 200x40, you must use one of Burn's banners of the same size) . PM me right after you've added our banner (I'll check), & then I'll add yours ASAP!

If you don't have a 200x40 or 88x31 banner, we'll simply provide a link to your guild or thread instead.

OCCUPATION: Due to medical reasons, I'm currently only able to work a part-time job & am unable to attend school at all. I work as an "Assistant" at a non-profit organization called The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy.
RELIGION: I can't & won't subscribe to any form of organized religion or preset form of spirituality. If there is in fact life after death, then I'll deal with it when I get there.
POLITICAL AFFILIATION: I try & ignore politics entirely. I suppose that on social matters such as abortion & the death penalty my beliefs are mostly in line with that of the Democratic party, & on financial matters they're mostly in line with the Republican party. However, I'd never consider myself a Republican or a Democrat, or a member of any other political party, largely just on principal.
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Bisexual. & not in a bullshit way.
INTERESTS/HOBBIES: Forming fake cults, pretending to be Juliette Lewis, Dadaism, delighting in perceptional deviances & the indomitable creativity-driven inception of truth, 20th century American poetry, ******** over censorship & other "book burning"-style bullshit, -isms, pills, the beat generation, defying gender roles, killing time, forming solid arguments for incoherent nonsense, being incoherent, being nonsensical, playing pretend, lobbying for the formation of "The War Against Justice", making jewelry, drawing on middle school kid's faces with black sharpies in gymnasiums & getting paid for it, skeleton keys, trying to figure out what this whole silly world is really all about, trying to figure out what -- if anything -- I'm all about, talking above you (literally & figuratively), instigating, the word "instigator", sex, satire, meanings, endings, ends without means, life, wasting your life, wasting my life, death, tastelessly flaunting the entire medical community's sheer inability to comprehend why & how I simply cannot seem to ever die, even more tastelessly making sure you know that that's actually true, failing to think of appropriately witty endings for my tongue-in-cheek self-narratives.
I AM...: Enigmatic; surprisingly misanthropic; often nonsensical; a contradiction; obsessive; notably solitary; logically-based; empathetic; caring; generous, occasionally excessively so; a "helper" or "healer", in that I like to help people, & am naturally attracted to people who suffer in ways that I can potentially help with; forgiving; more shy than you'd think; thoughtful; really messed up...
WHAT I GENERALLY DO ON GAIA: Obviously, this guild is my number one priority on Gaia & most of my time on Gaia is spent either in Burn or dealing with things related to Burn in some way or another. I also own a TekTeking/Avatar guild called Choque that I created in November 2010. I'm a Crew Member in The Newbie Supporting and Training Guild, which is also the only guild besides my own that I'm constantly active in. I'm a TekTeker at two of the very best TekTek shops on Gaia: Oh So Beautiful & iTekTek. Pretty much any time on Gaia that I have that's not spent on any of the commitments above is spent Vending, Exchanging, & earning gold, almost all of which ends up going to my guilds in one way or another.
