Who does everyone think the ugliest anime character is? I think that Rukia is particularly ugly, as well as Yoko from Tengen Toppa Gurrenn Lagann (her outfit is so trashy!)

Every character from xxxHolic. They look like poorly colored stick figures.

All of One Piece is ugly, especially that. I also (don't kill me) DBZ and those other series they burn my eyes. Also the big ugly fat guy on Trigun in like the 1st episode that everyone thinks is Vash the Stampede. They're are many more.

Gundam Seed and Vampire Knight have exceedingly ugly characters, too. But I don't think One Piece characters are THAT ugly, Perhaps it's just a taste in different art styles that might put you off.

Going away from mainstream anime I think that Harue Haribara from Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru is pretty ugly.

One Piece and Bobobobobobobobobo are the ugliest (character wise) anime I've ever seen.

There's the ugly I can tolerate (like the crazy weird stuff in Papuwa Island) for comedy. And there's the "shoot me now he's so pretty he sparkles *gag*" that's not too bad. But when a whole series is based around 'ugly' characters, that's a deal breaker for me.

Also, anyone with Mr. Popo style lips (except for him, cuz he's awesome~) gets an automatic 'fugly' in my book. I don't understand it. With him, I thought it was a 'black stereotype" thing, but then there are white people in Pokemon that have it too...
(I tried to find pics for lip examples, but I kept getting porn results, so I hope you get the point. xD)

In short: I can't decide on just one. Though that One Piece pic is pretty high in the rankings.

Wow! I think those two shows have amazing artwork. Kira is the hottest anime guy ever! It must just be different tastes.

When you're basing an opinion on how a character in an anime looks, don't base your opinion entirely on how the show is drawn!

I was going to simply say # 1 from afro samurai, or that guy from samurai champloo.
But then OP said yoko and rukia. It's one thing if you don't like those characters, but you can't start a thread called "Ugliest anime character" and state your opinion like "I think it's rukia and yoko." when some people think they're the most attractive.
And then some of you say "Anything from this show, because the way it's drawn is so unappealing to me"

The way haruhi is drawn looks unappealing to me. But when kyon says haruhi is incredibly beautiful, I except it.

Anyone from One Piece. And yeah.
But they could look good, all depending on the style. It is the art style to look like that, after all.
It really is all a matter of opinion, though.

and not really ugly,but i never found Miyuki from lucky star nor Dokuro from Dokuro-chan cute :
