A quick message about the Salon Durem problem, and what we're doing to fix it:
- your inventory is safe, and no items were lost
- there was a small issue with the avatar system that was preventing the new items from showing up properly
- accordingly, we're altering the avatar system so that it can handle the new Salon Durem items
- we'll then go through and find everyone that had one of the problematic items, fix them, and resave their avatar
- hopefully, that will take care of 99.99% of everyone, and anything left is a special case that we can deal with individually
We expect everyone's avatars to be fixed and up-to-date by around 5:00PM today.
What Happened: When we store your avatar, we store eyes and hair in their own columns in the database. Many, many years ago, when Gaia was young, someone had said "65K is enough for anyone, there is no way that we could ever have more than 65 thousand virtual items! I'll just make these columns smallint and save the precious two bytes." Well, guess what limit we hit?
