Since this is the first drop-off of the year (PLEASE NEVER LET THERE BE ANOTHER DROP-OFF THIS BIG AGAIN *SOB*),
we thought it would be a good time to reiterate some information and refresh some guidelines!
Yeah, yeah, your Blisters are under this post...
First up, we won't be able to put the Merphony information into the front page till a couple of them grow, so here's the info from the event page
in case we wipe that before it happens! PLUS a small note on ocean-living:
. Merphony Breed Information .
The average Merphony has the upper-body appearance of a Phony, and the lower-body appearance of a cetacean, surviving well both on land and underwater.
They do not require wet environments to survive, but are generally more comfortable with at least regular soaks. Most Mers are small and compact - but there is also
the occasional rare specimen with elongated proportions and more flexible tailfins, akin to a fish. These specimens are considered non-normative for the breed and
incredibly rare. Some of these non-normative specimens may very rarely sport a long unicorn horn, akin to a narwhal - rarer yet.
Like Flutters and Carousels, Merphonies possess single-coloured hair by default, but some may also normatively sport a single hair stripe of a different colour.
Mers with single-coloured hair (no stripe) may rarely non-normatively sport a subtle gradient within their mane, at a much higher rate of chance than other breeds.
The breed tends towards smooth, flowing manes, but exceptions do abound. Like Flutters, their cutie marks are relatively simple, due to the lack of rump-space thanks
to the narrowing tail. Merphonies move freely underwater, but are limited by their tails on land. While they are welcome to propel themselves with their hooves
and tail on land, most Mers would rather opt for small, unobtrusive electromagnetically-powered personal devices that allow for upright movement via hovering just above
the ground, provided by Phonyland upon Mer request. Mer bodies and the usual range of Phonywear do not mix well - many prefer simply marine-themed
accessories, such as kelp-ribbons or shell-necklaces, though those who live primarily on land may prefer usual Phonywear accessories that fit where they may.
The natural habitat of Merphonies is the sizeable lagoon that borders the plains and forest of Phonyland, where underwater habitations can be custom-built to the
Phony's desires, but many also simply choose to live in Phony City, with varying degrees of water-based furnishing solutions. Mers are considered a rare strain, but
also appear to be more numerous than Flutters, Carousels, and Alicorns - or maybe it's just easier to know where to look. It is not inconceivable that there might be
Mers that veer off the breed standard with different marine-creature tails, but if such variants exist, they are so exceptional that they are currently little more than myth.
ADDITIONALLY - for those who prefer a beachier atmosphere, the Barton shore is but a brief journey away from the theme park, and Merphonies are capable
of living in both fresh and saltwater (i.e. the nanites function similarly in both 'cos otherwise a mix-up like that might be...kinda a bummer...X_x).
While Phonyland protection does not extend outside of the theme park, all Phonies living outside Phonyland are welcome back for any necessary
amenities/accessories (e.g. the hover devices described above for Merphonies) at any time.

And now, for some reminder and clarification on some of our important House Rules and RP Guidelines:
. Key RP Guideline Reminders .
♥ Remember that we're not Equestria! We're a theme park called Phonyland located on the outskirts of Barton, that produces Phonies
through factory-based toy-production and nanites! There is no magic at all endemic to Phonies - even unicorn magic is only pseudo-science!
♥ The most important rule to remember with Phonies and RPing them is that you must never control the actions of another
person's character without permission! Be conscious of your fellow RPers and your Phony's status as a fallible pet - when you initiate an action,
the targeted RPer is to complete the reaction, you cannot assume what another Phony will do, nor what they are thinking!
Speculation is fine and fun, but never assert that a Phony that doesn't belong to you will do what you think they will do!
♥ Please keep in mind that Gaia Online is a PG-13 board! There's a lot of wink-wink-nudge-nudge going on in Phony, but any material
that is actually NSFW should never be discussed in detail, posted in the thread, nor linked to - this is against Gaia's TOS, and could get us banned!
Do think twice about discussions that could be disturbing to others, and remember that there might be children reading this thread!
(Well, probably not, but there might be!)

. Blister and Babby-Specific Reminders .
♥ When Phonies are still in their Blister Packs, they are plastic toys that are NOT SENTIENT - they do not think, move, nor vocalise!
The blister is a protective bubble that allows introduced nanites to perform the process of converting the toy into a real Phony!
If the protective bubble is breached, the nanites deactivate and the Phony remains a plastic toy...forever.
♥ If you're having problems growing your Permababby, consider making a list in Phony Classifieds and asking people in the thread for help -
we have lots of regulars eager to help grow Babbens up! Sometimes the thread might be busy and your post might be overlooked, so don't hesitate to ask again if it's been a while!
♥ Remember - growth RPs can be as long or as short as you'd like, as long as it's a complete episode between the Phonies involved,
and the element in question has clearly been learnt (whatever that might mean...). Since the requirements are so lax, we cannot accept incomplete RPs,
so we are truly sorry if you find that your old RP has been abandoned and you must start a new one.
♥ Sometimes RP partners go missing, and that's a real shame, especially if you wanted that RP for a requirement. :c Anything could have happened,
so we don't encourage more than a couple of reminder PMs. What we do suggest is that, if too much time has passed and the reminder PMs
have not helped, that you inform your partner that you're going to have to pursue the RP somewhere else and possibly that you'd
recycle the plot (if the RP has not been completed, you may reuse your own posts in a new one) and go on to do just that if there's no reply
within a reasonable timeframe. You'd be surprised at how many people wouldn't want to lose their progress in a requirement RP
when push comes to shove...
♥ Please don't ever feel like you should be in a hurry to complete growth requirements - you shouldn't be!
And we would really prefer you to take your time ahahahah...

. Other Stuff .
♥ Don't forget that our happy-clappy Birthday Crew is always on hand to celebrate your birthdays - just post about them here!
HOWEVER please try to post about it no more than two weeks before the big day - it's really hard to remember to go back to an early post ten months down the road!
OK NOW YOU CAN GET TO YOUR BABBS (AND PETS).
HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY 2015 IN PHONYLAND WITH MY LITTLE PHONY!
