small Guilds Bugfixes

We just fixed two issues in guilds:
Navigating from one guilds forum topic page to another used to break the "avatar dropdown" links. This is fixed.
We found and fixed a very hard to track issue with guilds captchas. Users experiencing issues with Guild QuickReply and captcha should have no more problems.

Daily Chance update
The new Daily Chance look is going out in the next few minutes. Daily Chance might look funky for the next ~20 minutes while all the servers catch up.

Achievement Counters

We've just added counters for some of the achievements that require you to do something more than once. Please note that all achievements do not use the same counter system so some will not have a counter or will not update. Achievements like Loiterer and others though should show what your current progress is at.

New Daily Chance

We're still working on getting some bugs fixed and setting up the new payouts for DC. Once we have these finalized and everything new is put in place, we'll update you with another Dev Notice. We plan to have the changes, including the new items, put in place soon and are in the middle of testing them now. Sit tight, we're almost there!

Thanksgiving Event

So it looks like our calls to start the game, save the game, and reward everyone for playing the game were pointing to one of our internal dev servers instead of to the live servers that you all have access to. D'oh! We've remedied this issue and the fix should be going out shortly. That will allow you to start receiving the tickets and achievements. Go play now!

Related to this, as you may have seen we're testing out an in-house alternative to the typical Captcha systems to try and mitigate bots in a more fun/creative way. We'd love to hear your feedback or any bugs you find with this so if you have something to say about it, feel free to do so here.

Gobble Gobble Bang Bang Results

The smoke has cleared, the smell of gunpowder has faded, and the casualties have been tallied. Despite the carnivorous inclinations of many, the veggies have proven more popular and triumphed with a score of 377,525 veggies shot to 329,240 meat shot. Daily Chance bugfixes
If you have a small browser window or if you don't wait for the page to finish loading before clicking on the Daily Chance cart, you will notice that you see daily chance as a standalone page (instead of a fast-loading "pop-up" wink . It is now styled similarly to the "pop-up".

The tiers of daily chance prizes have been updated and should be a little more appealing. You will still have to log in frequently and get lucky for the best of the Daily Chance prizes.

Please don't forget report any issues you find in the Bug Reports forum!

Global Outfits

The global outfits changer has been fixed. You can once again click on an outfit, and it will equip that outfit and save the avatar.

Releasing Old Items

We are beginning an experiment to re-release items from crusty old banned accounts through an NPC in the Marketplace. We anticipate that this will have the effect of reducing inflation as gold is removed from the system. The second reason for this doing this is that we get to get some of those tasty legacy items back into circulation so they can continue to be enjoyed by the community. Initially, Bid Blast was built to serve this purpose but we are unhappy with its performance and believe we can do the job more efficiently through Marketplace.

The list was built with only minor prejudice so it is normal to see items that are not worth very much. We'll be starting slowly and ramping up the throughput as we learn more about the effects.

I'll leave it up to you guys to find the NPC :].

Releasing Old Items [CORRECTION]

We are not actually taking these from banned accounts, we are simply adding items that have fallen out of circulation back in by creating limited numbers back into the system.

The items are not actually removed from the accounts. As a general rule we don't modify existing accounts in this way. I built a list of item, quantity and am using that as a pool of items. Technically the items are re-generated. This has the effect of not breaking old accounts in case they are un-banned while still getting us a legitimate pool of real items.

Towns Restriction

Due to the unsavory and annoying behavior of a select group of individuals playing with their scripts, we've limited access for all Flash spaces to only those accounts that have been on the site for at least three days. What does this mean for most of you? Probably nothing as you're likely already over three days old. For the rest, it just means you'll need to wait three days after you register and activate your account in order to access our Flash areas like Towns 1 and 2, Rally, and Virtual Hollywood. The changes will be rolled out to all the servers over the next couple hours and we'll be watching in case any further changes/adjustments need to be made.

Sorry for the inconvenience but some people just want to watch the Flash spaces burn and we have to keep them out.
