Arrr mateys, Talk Like a Pirate Day has ended and with it, the scurvy shenanigans ye lot came up with have ceased. Before we wait another year for the next Talk Like a Pirate Day, we need to commend those who showed what it really meant to be a pirate by collecting the most bounty of all!

Event PMs Turned Off

We've uncovered an issue with the event URLs that could cause some unwanted issues for users. We've disabled the sending of these PMs for now. This means that the links in the PMs already sent out will no longer work so don't worry if you suddenly get errors when clicking them. We'll let you know when we turn them back on (probably tomorrow) so just sit tight in the meantime!

We believe we've fixed the underlying issues with the previous URLs and have decided to turn the event back on now. We've also set it up so that if you have not already joined a team, you should receive two new PMs with new URLs that should allow you to join either team. Remember, you can only join one side and once you choose, you can't go back so make sure you're positive of your choice before you click that link!

Aquarium Issues Explained
If you use "SocialVibe" (one of our offers partners), they have less-than-desirable coding which, over time, will make {aquarium, avatars and images, styles, scripts, and some entire pages} unusable.

If you've encountered this, you might have noticed that clearing your cookies (specifically the "__socialvibe__cache" cookie under "gaiaonline.com" wink . This cookie appears to grow over time -- so the more offers you use, the more likely you are to see broken features/pages as a result.
While we attempt to get SocialVibe to change their ways, the temporary solutions are:

clear all of your cookies (which will likely log you out of most/all websites)
to clear this specific cookie (which requires a few more steps)
you may simply use another browser, but this will only buy you a little time until that other browser's cookies fill up.

Shops Landing page updated
We changed some scripting code on the /market/ page. Hopefully nothing broke.
We do already know about the missing mannequins on that page -- that should be fixed early next week.

Fall Forum Clean-Up Coming!

Hey gang!

Starting in a few weeks, we'll be doing a Fall Forum Clean-Up. This project will include removing underused or inactive forums, combining forums with common interests into one location, perhaps relocating some forums to new sections of the site, renaming some forums to better reflect the community that inhabits that forum, creating new forums that people have requested, etc. - all sorts of things!
