Welcome to Gaia! ::

Can you put the ads on the site at low resolution or something?

The ads make the pages load very slow...and I have cable internet.

It's getting ridiculous...I can't image how bad it must be for people who still have dial-up.
oops..I accidentally put it in the wrong forum...at least they were quick to move it.

Thanks guys

Yeah. Ads were being the death of me a while back so I invested in AdBlock. Now that it's taking care of them I can spend time browsing the site and not having to wait an upwards of 2-3 minutes for it to load the page.

And I'm on DSL speeds.
I'm guessing you have to pay for AdBlock?

I am poor at the moment, so that is out of the question xD

Actually, no. They're free.
For Firefox users, look up the add-on Ad-Block Plus
For Google users, it's under the extensions search. i forget the name, but i think it's the Ad-Block with the stop sign/stop hand-gesture icon.
For IE - IE7Pro. They have tutorials on how to block ads.
Don't know what's out there for Safari and Opera, sorry.

The ads are slow and laggy because most of them run off of flash. And lately, flash sucks at everything.

perhaps take those steps to report them? If they're making it hard for you to use gaia?
