While the marketplace has been down, I've been doing some feature enhancements that I think you may enjoy. As we all know, new features are prone to bugs and this has caused a lot of heartache in the past. I'd like to give as much warning as possible this time around that this latest release might have bugs which can cause you to lose items, and generally just have a bad time. I've created a special account, MsTransaction specifically for reporting bugs. Please use this resource instead of creating new threads in Q&F. We have discovered that tracking multiple threads in Q&F is not efficient, and this is our solution.
On the other hand, there are some new things I'd like to briefly cover.
You can now fully customize your storefront with BB Code, including putting links, images, smilies, anything you want.
Keeping track of bids is easier now. You now have a Watch list, which will keep track of stuff you have bid on, even if someone outbids you. You can look at your watch list by clicking on the Watch link in your store.
Marketplace now supports game items (like fish =]). You can sell game items in any quantity you wish.
You can also now take a look at your store log. It will show you the last 100 events that happened in your store, including what you put up for sale, who's bidding, and any other event that takes place in your store.
When viewing the log, you can also click on the vend id (left column), which will take you to the entire bid history for a particular item.
In addition to the new functionality, the layout has changed as well. When bidding/buying items, you are automatically taken to the owner's store. This lets you immediately see who you are buying from, along with their custom storefront. I wanted to make it feel more like you're entering someone's special space, and getting to see everything they have to offer.
I encourage users to create threads in the old Marketplace Forum and link to those threads from inside their new storefronts. This will allow ongoing discussion associated with your store =]. In a lot of ways, these new feature enhancements may allow users to merge their existing exchange threads and the convinience of the Marketplace.
