Once Saria had taken her place, Fray opened the door and followed down the grassy path that was lined with all sorts of wildflowers, daises, sunflowers, and white blossoms. Holding her bouquet with both hands, everyone stood as she approached and she saw Mohan at the end. He looked kind of petrified and smiled brightly at him and resisted the urge to giggle. The warm sun shone upon her red hair, making it appear as if the kitsune glowing as she stepped across the grass in her beaded foot jewelry, but otherwise barefoot. Her ears and fox tail were hidden for now as it best suited the outfit, with the elven headpiece and long gown... Finally coming to the end, she took her place across from Mohan, a smile eaming from across her freckled face as she met her groom's gaze. The music stopped playing and the guests took their seats, as Dean cleard his throat and began to speak. For being a fake priest, he was pretty well-versed in wedding ceremonies as though he played the part often. Although he had to use notes to remember everything to say.
"We gather here to unite these two people in marriage. The essence of this
commitment is the acceptance of each other in entirety, as lover,
companion, and friend. A good and balanced relationship is one in
which neither person is overpowered nor absorbed by the other, one
in which neither person is possessive of the other, one in which
both give their love freely and without jealousy." He loooked up at the groom and bride. "Marriage, ideally, is a sharing of responsibilities, hopes, and dreams.
It takes a special effort to grow together, survive hard times, and be loving and unselfish."
And then he would go to ask Fray and Mohan a series of vows, such as "Do you both pledge to share your lives openly with one another, and
to speak the truth in love? Do you promise to honor and tenderly
care for one another, cherish and encourage each other, stand
together, through sorrows and joys, hardships and triumphs for all
the days of your lives?" To each question, the couple would respond with "We do." Fray would reach across the small gap to take Mohan's hands in her own. Once they were done with the questions, they would each have a turn to read or recite their own vows. Fray wasn't sure if Mohan had written any but she had.
"I promise to love and care for you, and I will try in every way to be worthy of your love.
I will always be honest with you, kind, patient and forgiving. I promise to be a true and loyal friend to you. I love you with all my heart and am so excited to have you as my husband."
Mohan could say his piece if he wanted to, and then they would do the exchanging of the rings, and Dean would finish with "You may now kiss the bride."
