my metal gear solid disc wont even run =[

I put it in and the ps3 logo comes up as always but then it just goes blank and nothing happens. I thought it could have been the disc so i returned it and got it replaced, the same thing happens.

All my other ps3 games work perfectly fine.
I even reformatted my hard disk, deleted everything. still doesnt work.

What could it be?

Have you downloaded Version 2.36 yet? Try downloading the latest Firmware.

Yeah I attempted once to download the latest system update but it just froze, although maybe it's just my bad internet connection.
ill try again later though

Alright, I'm honestly thinking it might be that. 2.36 was kind of like a patch.
